Agree, I sold my GM. It was the only size available when I purchased it. It’s waaaay too big. Hazard when moving around, I used to bump into so many people. Maybe the new smaller size will be a better alternative.

As soon as I saw the DIOR tote bag, I said "I'm certain Lydia only uses this to travel" to myself because it looks much bigger than any bag she usually carries. I know it's more rigid but I love it so much. I love that if you set it down somewhere, it will sit up on its own. I'm thinking about traveling and trying to find something in it-you can place it down and not be trying to move the bag whilst you dig. This was a great video for people trying to choose not only between these two specific bags, but the two types of bags as well.

I absolutely love my Dior Book tote! I have mine in the Oblique deep red. I found an organizational insert so things don’t roll over. It’s a gorgeous statement piece and super practical to move things from my car to home :)

I am not sure if anyone will be interested but I bought myself a Kenzo Jacquard book tote. It is a good dupe for the Dior book tote without the hefty price tag. It has pockets inside as well as a magnetic clasp to close the tote. And even stands on its own since it has 'metal buttons' under it. It's very convenient to use since it has compartments and you're not just throwing everything in the bag as is.

I absolutely love my deauville! I use it as a work bag and leisure bag. I took it to our trip to Europe last summer. Love love it! I think you have forgotten to compare prices between the 2 unless I missed that part. I only heard the Dior price.

This set-up is really pretty and intimate with you framed by the dark colors in the background! I love your shorter chatty styling videos :) For my life personally, I can only think of one situation where I would use the book tote - I take a lot of road trips for work, and I often need an overflow tote for books, shoes, scarves, jewelry, my crochet projects, etc. Since I'm in a car, I don't need to worry about the size, and it sits on my suitcase as I go in and out of hotels. I'm still not buying one, but it's good to keep in mind.

Desr Lydia, I agree with you! I had a Dior book tote and I returned it. I found it very uncomfortable to wear from the same reasons that you mentioned. Instead of a book tote I bought a chanel Deauville in a medium/ large size an I love it! I would love one video on Hermès Kelly/Birkin. Thank you.

I agree with you love... I just bought the large Dior oblique book tote... the only problem I have is, some small loose threads on the letters... but I looked at 5 different totes and they all had loose threads on different areas on the bag, mostly on the letters... my SA said it is normal and to leave it alone... he also said that if the thread should loosen up more that I have a warranty on the bag and they would send it to Paris to get it repaired... so 🤔

Would absolutely LOVE a “designer capsule/starting your designer wardrobe journey” sort of video!! Like a top 10 areas to splurge on luxury in your wardrobe sort of vibe. I find myself (unfortunately on a much more limited budget than yourself but having very similar tastes and interests to you) unsure as to where it’s worth spending more money as opposed to a more high street brand. (I.e. if I want a designer hand bag, should I be splurging on a black/nude/print bag, which belts/coats/brands in general stand the test of time etc.). Loving your videos and hope you’re doing well x

I agree with everything in the video, just one thing I noticed myself-maybe it’s just me-but the Chanel tote has the kind of straps that digs in my shoulder, when packed full, in theory it’s roomy and slouchy and comfortable under the arms for the first 30 minutes then it starts to dig in, all the weight goes into my shoulder, so I find myself changing shoulders every few minutes when I wear this bag out.

Such a great video, more like this please : ) The Christian Dior tote is beautiful but sooo expensive and I fear it's an 'on trend' bag that will go out of fashion. Love the Chanel tote! and who knew it was so practical. I agree that the Chanel is a much better buy as its more user friendly and more of a classic and you'll be wearing and loving it for years to come. It will also retain its value so you can re sell if you choose to do so in a few years time. I have the Louis Vuitton neverfull which i've had for years and has seen me through years at work and then now serves really well as a nappy bag! Again, its a classic so holds its value and it has worn so well, still looks as good as new x
