Ive got the Shimano Sienna 2500 on a 7' medium fast spinning rod and its been one of my favorite set-ups for finesse fishing or river trout fishing. When i bought the reel 3 years ago, it was $70. Might need to snag an extra for backup!

A Shimano bullwhip with a Shimano quick fire reel. It has caught more fish than I can count including its heaviest, a 21 pound catfish on 6 pound test.

It’s actually insane how well these reels hold up. I fish the st Clair river with them throwing 12oz-8oz weights all winter/spring and it still works like a charm. Have brought in multiple atlantics with them but mainly just walleye

Shimano FX 2500HG is a beast for 20$. 6.2:1 and really smooth, almost instant antireverse and 9lbs drag...just needs a thicker bail wire.
