I paired one of those Durango Rods with a Abu Garcia Spinning Reel and it's become one of my favorite finesse setups I have. The action on the rod is the money make in my opinion.

I bought that Shakespeare Alpha but it also came with the Alpha rod. The combo was 30$ in total. Super cheap but man it’s tough as boulders. One time I got snagged and reeled in an entire 15lb plant with no effort lol.

Some of my very first combos when I got into fishing were the $10 Zebco Slingshots. Caught my first bass on one, and I still use them to this day for creek fishing when I throw light tackle. The fish don't know the difference between a Rooster Tail on a Zebco and one on a Lew's.

10:30 That’s from the memory of the line on reels that come with line. There’s no telling how long that line has been on the reel from the factory. They over spool the line onto the reel and it just turns to garbage.

That was whats called a wind knot. It can happen to any spinning reel that has to much line on it. All prespooled spinning reels are over spooled with line. Need to rip some off before you start fishing with it. They do that because while sitting on shelves in stores the ultraviolet from the florescent bulbs the stores have tend to break down the fishing line. I work in a tackle shop self and when you rig a new rod for someone you take a few yards off for that reason.
