I factory ordered a 2020 F150 in July 2020. When the truck arrived in mid September I received extra incentives that became available at the time of delivery. When it was all said and done I received a $10,000 reduction from sticker price.

@Edwin Aponte how?? How I did mine. I just went to the Nissan Factory in Tennessee and just simply purchased my 2016 Nissan Frontier Pro4X 4.0L V6 6 Speed manual transmission. I only got mine for $29,000 No hidden fees, no other charges and NO BULLSHIT! same thing that I did on my Ford 2018 F-150 V8 basic model single cab long bed, in Ford dealer with Cheating Salesman it will cost me $36K but in the Ford Assembly Plant they only gave the truck to me for $24K

@Edwin Aponte I paid mine with cash. That's why I got them straight to the point. No bullshit. The thing that makes the dealer and salesman makes a lot of money out of people is because of the higher interest rates and other bullshit fees. And they're your credit score also before you can even get a vehicle. In my case I didn't gave a damn about my credit score because I know it's bad. Because I don't like loans and making loans and credit cards it's been my principle my whole life that when I don't have money to pay then don't buy it. It's just happened that I got money and cash that time and I purchased the vehicle on cash. At least they're both paid off full on cash and I have no obligations like credits or loan some shit.

Uh, that was 2020. I picked up a used '18 ES350 in 2020 for about half of sticker. Odd shade of metallic bronze that no one seemed to like.

Dealing with dealerships either for buying or service is worse than dealing with the IRS. what’s amazing is most consumers do research and they still trying to bs the consumer. I knew more about the electric vehicles than the salesmen.

The biggest thing here is picking your dealership ... when I special ordered my Mustang I specifically went to a Ford dealership that does a lot of truck/fleet sales. They had allocation to put the order in immediately and an excellent relationship with the manufacturer to let me know exactly what was going on with the build. They negotiated price up front, stood by it when the vehicle came in and made sure I received all available rebates.

@@10r80Gerardo Back in 2019 it ended up being about 3 months due to a strike at the steering wheel plant. With the chip shortage production issues, I've been hearing similar timelines. Might be worth joining a forum like mustang6g to see what others are currently experiencing.

Wanted a car that a dealer had 900 miles away. Local dealer tells me $1500 to ship. I said $500. Salesman left me sitting at his desk alone. Flew to that city; stayed a couple days. Had a couple fantastic meals. Drove my new car home. A vacation and a drive. Worth it to me.

This video and advice is spot on. 100%. I ordered a new Mercedes 2020 GLE 450 SUV last year. I built it on the website. I spoke to several dealers and asked how much would they charge me for this build. I got a very fair deal about 6.5% off MSRP. 12 weeks later, I got the car. And when i went to pick it up, they had a great deal if I finance through them: 2.99% PLUS first payment off. I took it.

I can't believe you can order what you want. Everything comes in packages, now. If you you want something specific, you'll have to buy it with 8 other things. Some cars don't even offer the color you want without buying the "limited" version.

So darn true. The worst part now is some dealerships are telling people they will have to pay a surcharge to order from the factory. For example, two different Ford dealers I talked with were charging a surcharge of $3,000 to $5,000 plus the "dealer" adds like tinting, etching, etc. One dealer was charging a non-refundable $1,000 to order a vehicle. After talking with eight Ford dealers, I was able to order the truck I wanted. I ordered in October, 2021 but it might show up sometime in the next 90 days. Of course, Ford dropped the one color I wanted so I'm somewhat stuck with the new colors they have. I don't know if they have increased the prices yet but I sure hope not. I'll just wait and see.

I have ordered 2 of the last 3 BMW's I bought. In each case, they told me I would get the better of the incentive and financing programs in place the day I signed the order or the day I picked it up....and they honored it. Negotiating the price was straightforward. In both cases, it did take a few weeks as both were built in Germany. In one of the two cases, the factory screwed up the order and built the car with the wrong color interior, so they had to build it again. The dealership took care of me for the inconvenience. I've also bought off the lot, when they had exactly what I was looking for. If you are open to maybe not getting exactly what you want, buy off the lot. If you want what you want, order it.

I just ordered a 2021 LT Trail Boss 6.2, I was tired of every dealer having crew cabs with the short box only they’re useless. Had to get the crew cab with the standard box!

Literally in the same shoes, my '96 k1500 suburban had 398xxx miles and got in a wreck that totaled it. Now I want to buy a new truck, I'm sad at how hard it is to talk to a guy to order my truck....like yikes man.

I had mine for 3 months before someone driving down the wrong side of a divided highway hit me head on and they just totaled it. I enjoyed it for the 3 months of ownership and I got compliments on the truck everywhere I went. It was loaded with the Oxford Brown Metallic exterior. Despite it being totaled, it held up quite well in the crash and definitely saved my life.

In 1992, I placed an order for a Ford Explorer with the specs I wanted and nothing more. The dealer hemmed and hawed about it taking 6-8 weeks. I was in Nashville and Explorers were being built up the Interstate in Louisville. My model showed up in 4 weeks and while it was on the lot before I could get there, there were 3 individuals that wanted to buy my SUV.

I would have bought a new truck off the lot but I could not find one with the perfect packages and color. So I built a 2022 ram rebel online, picked a dealer and now I wait. I must say, it is mighty tough waiting, but it gets easier as the weeks go by.

Number one thing I do shop around between brands. If I configure a car with the options I want and dealer does not have it, I just buy a different brand. I just wish I could buy directly from manufacturer an they drop the car off in my driveway and take my old car. Good video

THANK YOU! I've done my research, I know what I want, and I've gone shopping and no dealership in 400 miles has what I want. I went to three local dealerships (Albuquerque) and one of them wanted to charge me $7000 to special order my truck. Luckily, I was prepared and I'm in no rush so I went to the next dealership and they said the exact same thing you did in your video. I've ordered my truck the way I want it and they've already given me an out-the-door price which is exactly the price I was expecting. I was worried that I might still be doing something wrong or going to get ripped off somehow but you've reassured me that I'm on the right track.

This was a great video I'm happy to hear it worked for someone because I'm in the same boat and want to order my new vehicle. So how did you ask them for the best price? I mean if you did your research like me you went on the website build your vehicle and got the price they were offering with rebates. How did you present to them about what's the best price they can give you? Did you tell them you already went on and built and you know how much the MSRP is for this vehicle? Any info would be great Thank you.

@@jayflis3194 After you build your vehicle on Chevy's website, you can request a quote and the web page will email up to three dealers with your request. This put me in contact with the dealers via email. I did everything over email so I have their words in writing to refer to later. I didn't tell them I was talking to other dealers up front, though. I let them go through their salesman routine and see what they'd do. One of them tried to rip me off immediately, one of them dragged their feet too long, and one looked at my build, told me the out the door price (estimate for now, until the truck arrives for sale) and ordered the truck that day. I did have to put a $1k deposit down. And they were up front that it could take 6-8 weeks for it to arrive. I'm still keeping my guard up for any fees tacked on to the sales price, but they seem pretty straight forward for now. We'll see how they do @lhmcasachevrolet .

@@briand1314 truck arrived and had to wait a couple of days for the options to be installed. No problem there. They did try to sell me add-ons and add the dealer acquisition fee. I stood firm, reminded them they gave me an up-front price, and was ready to walk out if I had to. Got them to stick to their price and all is well.

Its a good thing to mention that when you custom order a vehicle from a dealer to tell them not to prep a car if you can do it yourself. When I picked up my daily driver Toyota Corolla the dealer drilled in the license plate bracket into the front bumper which I didn't like. No big deal on a daily but for my new sports car I would want to prep the car myself as I am driving it directly to a shop that installs 3M clear bra film.

My dad friend owns a dodge dealership in Canada. He swares that when he special orders a truck for a customer it always lasts longer. He does a lot of fleet units, and the same owner will have the special order trucks last significantly longer.

@@Murphys_Law9 So are the custom ordered vehicles. The least amount is the MSRP but many dealers are adding a surcharge, even though they can't get the model you want. In my case I want a Ford F350 crew cab long bed, but the local dealer has only had the F350 models with the diesel engines.

Thank you so much for your tips on how to buy a car. Bought a new car yesterday and I figured out what I was willing to pay for payments. They started at $606 a month and after back and forth and leaving a few times I got it for $17 above what I wanted but I traded in a vehicle that I was at least $3k upside down it. So I was happy and because of you I got the payment I wanted. Thank you again. Payment ended up being $463 for a 2021 $39k car.

I am going to try to buy a new car soon but have some questions regarding the existing car loan that I have. I still owe 3,800 dollars on a preowned vehicle that I bought in 2016 that is currently out of commission. Still paying on it. Did you finance your new vehicle? @@JuniorNel21 everything Brent did was 100% wrong. NEVER negotiate off monthly payment. Just by saying that, I know they screwed with no lube. Watch "the 4 squares of dealership negotiations". In 10 minutes you'll be smarter than Brent and get a better deal

It depends on what you want. Dealers tend to order cars higher trim which is higher profit. I find if I configure at a manufacturers website it's cheaper than what is particularly sold on the lot, but that's configured how I like it. The plus for the dealer to order it is no flooring fee to pay, which is extra profit, so why not?

Custom ordered my last 2 trucks. I am really specific about what I want and I don’t see any reason to make that big a payment on something that isn’t 100% what you want. I also like the Ram window sticker that says it was built for me.

I bought my 2019 Ram 3500 by ordering it from the factory through the dealership. I have a friend who is a finance manager at a Chevy dealership, I wanted the New Rams. He told me dealerships love people to order vehicles, because it's a something that's basically sold off the Truck. One thing that dealerships hate is unsold inventory at the end of the year. I told him when he was ordering it before he hit enter in the computer. I'll pay the net price, not MSRP. Didn't really have to fight and they gave it to me.

A dealer never has "base" models on the lot. They're always optioned, and usually highly optioned, pushing the price up. Im getting a new truck in the spring of 2022. A Sierra and factory order the way i want it. The options i want. Thr colour etc

I bought my 2016 Nissan Frontier Pro4X 6 Speed Manual transmission straight from the Factory!!! No Bullshit! No Upfront Cost! No Rip off fees, only the SRP (Suggested Retail Price) of the Truck. I got the truck only for $28,000 grand. Then I got 2018 Ford F-150 V8 XL basic model standard 4WD. 6 foot bed I only got it for $30,000grand. No bullshit! No RIP OFF fees. Right straight from the Assembly Plant.

My last vehicle I ordered was in 78 back then you could go down the option list one by one and pick out exactly what you wanted. Then around early 80's the packages came if you wanted a pedicure item it came in a package with other things you may not have wanted. The resulting issue is, It's a game of give and take and getting that 1 of 15,000 built is no longer.

In the 80s and 90s, you could get with the dealership and parcel out every option that you want or don’t want near your car and actually pay a lot less and get what you want like a Camaro with hand crank windows instead of power when the dealership has all power windowsand get a little tag on the dashboard that says sew and was expressly built for whom I don’t know if it’s like that anymore

If dealerships only made 2% they would not be selling vehicles, just like they tell you that a gas station only makes 2 cents a gallon just ridiculous it would not pay for the electricity to pump the gas. Factory cost to make a tire varies but is about $30 regardless of size and type as they just use total monthly production figures.

I think some further clarification on the term "Drop Ship" would be helpful. GM will let you buy a car from a dealer in Kentucky and you live in California. If both dealers agree the car can be shipped from the factory to the California dealer without additional cost. Your $1095 delivery charge covers delivery to California. I think that is an awesome policy for the consumer. Some dealers refuse to sell certain cars for MSRP. You could buy a car remotely and still get it locally at no additional cost. Drop shipping if I understand it correctly would cost you $1500 out of pocket plus the $1095 delivery charge from the factory to get the car from your selling dealer to you. My question is does the local delivery dealer get anything to prep or PDI the car from the factory or the selling dealer.

Everyone: “got a smoking deal on a new car!” Sort of like people who go to casinos and fail to understand all of the opulence and free food and drinks was built on the backs of those who lost money there. Dealerships are a business, it’s always funny to me how people who buy a car once every 3-5 years swear they got the most smoking deal ever...from the guy(s) who literally do this on a daily basis.

If you get it from the factory, you can get it exactly the way you want it. You rarely find that out on the dealer's lot, but in my experience you always pay more to the factory to get it exactly the way you want oh, then you would at a dealer's lot.

I don’t know which is better but definitely convenient to have bought my Suburban RST from you. It was there, you said it was cool and even hundreds of miles away, had my unit and traded my 2016. So, there was no waiting and I got what I wanted and personal service from Chevy Dude!

Ordered a 22 Tahoe. Easy build salesman said. It was accepted in 2 weeks and order was picked up 2 more weeks later. Now I wait for a delivery date. RST package came with the electronics package. No sunroof, 4x4 and rear bench seat.

We factory ordered our jeep, mainly because it was the best way to get the best deal. Wrangler rubicons being high demand vehicles, the rebates are non existent and the dealers aren't that willing to bargain. The only way to get a good deal, from my experience, is to order from a high volume dealer. We ended up at 8% under invoice, approximately 13% under MSRP and literally couldn't be happier.

@@edgarchavez3531 all I can say is Gupton Motors in Springfield, TN offers the deal I mentioned on factory orders. There is very little chance of getting a really good deal on a rubicon from dealer stock. The best way to get a decent deal with in stock vehciles is to either work for, or join an organization, that qualify you for affiliate pricing. Join Treadlightly for $100 and it will give you the ability without shenanigans to buy any in stock CJDR vehicle, or factory order, for 1% under invoice or about 5.25% under MSRP.

In ‘94 I went to a large GM dealership to buy a new passenger van. They had none. When I said I wanted to order one they refused, but insisted what I really wanted was one of the conversion vans they had on the lot. What a waste of time. I did end up buying one that was driven through 2 states to get it to the dealer. It had almost 500 miles on it before I got to drive it.

Great video. I did exactly what this video says to do. I ordered my 2021 Silverado, worked with a great dealership and got exactly what I wanted. I would definitely recommend ordering your vehicle, especially if it something that is highly customizable.

Yes! I ordered my 2021 chevy spark because I wanted the passionfruit color and the highest trim level. Iv only ever seen 1 other spark in an older year but it was sold before I could get it. I had to wait 4 months tho since they were just starting to get built. I have no regrets tho, they were amazing.

I have heard another YT video creator say that there comes a point where the dealer starts to feel desperate to get rid of the car so the slot can be opened up for a newer, more fashionable model. There are advice givers online who frequently highlight special software or special websites that give a person the stats on how long a car has been on a lot. They usually tell you to keep skimming and scanning page after page until you find a specific unit that has been on the lot for more than 100 days. You supposedly will get an extra large discount if the unit has passed the 100 days on lot milestone.

Easy way to check without any special software is to simply use an online shopping tool like Cars.com, AutoTempest, or CarGuru and just sort by oldest listing. They give you the option to shop for new as well.

If I remember correctly when i was a kid most cars its seems were factory ordered. There was a lot of color options and various equipment packages. There was dealer stock but I do remember my dad placing an order for his vehicles on more than 1 occassion . Also when I bought my 89 Mazda 323 hatchback compnaies like Mazda would allocate so many of each model in a particular color to the dealer and that was that. I do not know if they still do this. Today it seems that in the name of efficeny most vehicles are not ordered by the customer. Most of what is now standard such as ac, power windows, rear window defrosters with the wires embeded in the glass were optional. Automatic transmissions were an option. Today the one big option that I have seen is brands such as Buick chargimg extra for every color but vanilla white. It is a way to jack up the price an extra $400 or so without the consumer realizing it.

@@peruvianblood1726 This will be my first new vehicle and first dealer ordered vehicle as well. Placed my order May 26th, VIN & VON # assigned May 27th and now I'm just waiting for MY22 production to start. The process was super simple, easier than going to a dealer and finding a vehicle on their lot. I found a dealer that would place a manufacture order, emailed them a PDF of my build sheet and they placed the order next day after I paid the requested deposit.

Factory ordered my F350 and my Mustang. Got exactly what I wanted in both vehicles. As far as rebates, Ford will give you the rebate from time of order or delivery which ever is greater. Dealership locked in the price of my trade at the time of ordering with a 2k mile allowance. Don't think I'll ever settle for dealer inventory again. Next order will be a 2022 Mach1 in Jan. Of `22.

2 percent profit is hard to believe that is all they make, by the time you buy it the dealer got you more like 15 percent then the finance charges and god forbid you got great credit or you going to get the shaft

I hate how most dealerships automatically put low-quality window tint on all their cars & others accessories that I don't want (& won't pay for). Then, on certain select accessories that I do want added, they act like it's a big chore/headache.

I waited for a rst 1500 Silverado from Nov to Feb. custom ordered The dealer & GM jerked me around with delays and delays, and I was going to pay cash! wound up canceling my order - first it was mosaic black wasn't avail, then black rims wasn't avail!

Good information. It’s interesting to see all the options available on the manufacture’s website but when you check individual dealers they don’t have the configuration you want and most likely seem to have minor variations on a couple of configurations.

I ordered a truck in Texas and wait was 3 months and put a deposit down. When the truck came in they tried very hard to screw me over my trade in. Wanted auction prices instead of NADA. I told them I’ll go elsewhere and give me my deposit back ( Texas law says they have to give you your deposit back if you don’t buy it). The said well you’ll have to wait to get it somewhere else. I’m a car hauler and brought my own truck in on the delivery. I just built my truck on line and check dealer inventory within 500 miles and found 4 exactly how I wanted it. I called the first one and the salesman heard me tell them I’d be there tomorrow and the dealership I was at caved.

Ok. So the main thing I got from the video was to get the exact amount I will pay for the car. I did and I had the sales manager sign next to the price. My concern is they are going to try and hit me with those dealer costs that I've seen in other videos. Also like I said my credit is pretty bad but I plan on putting a good amount of money down on the car. My girlfriend told me I'm over thinking all of this and it's going to be fine but 60k for a car is a lot of money and I'm not trying to end up with regrets

If you order a car, you are paying full MSRP, giving them money early, AND are at the mercy of every little bullshit charge that they want to tack on. You have MUCH more leverage on a car on the lot, that the DEALER is paying interest on.

Ordering a car is for the stupidly rich. Picking that lot rascal that's been sitting for a couple months is your best buy. Unless you absolutely, positively have to have that shade of red/blue/yellow.

I would buy a car from you.I live in Johnson city TN and have been looking for a month around this area.Some of the dealers around this area probably were incarcerated at one time. Don't know about others, but Chrysler/Stellantis offer whatever current rebates are in effect at time sold order vehicle is delivered at selling dealership. Could save big!

We got T-boned in our beloved Camray, no one hurt. But we have found that used car prices are now higher than a cat's back, and climbing. Can you (1) Explain the high prices and (2) Talk about sources for the most reliable information on used cars. By the way, I really enjoy your programs, and I just subscribed.

I went to my local Chevy dealer to order a 2018 3500 HD 6.0l gas.Two door regular cab.The first hour was spent by the manager to get me to buy off the lot.Only 3500 HD diesel 4 doors not in my colour.Finally asked if I could order a truck or I am gone.I got to order my truck.

Plan on ordering. About a month ago a salesman said come order one. At least two dealerships has told me too. I went to or talk to two dealerships got invoices from two dealerships I asked one what is this $2,500 they had some locked in fees. Wheel locks are $75 from GMC they wanted $440 bull. Windows tint another $339 then 300 said I can get discounts from other gmc dealerships bull. $160 for oil change bull again.

Dealerships add their name in some sort or fashion on the back of most vehicles for advertisement. We should get an advertisement credit for having that on the back of vehicles.

I do a lot of research I have a list of what I want or will not do without including color. I found one on the lot that had everything I wanted plus more I was looking for racing yellow at least 2Lt with Z51 I found a 3lt Z51 with the manual transmission I wanted yellow it has magnetic ride control all the options I've never seen a corvette with yellow stitching in the interior this one has it

Thanks to GM's bundling of options, it is hard to get exactly what I want. Usually something I want requires XYZ package that will usually have at least 2 ( usually more) options I DON'T want

Manufacturers do this to "sell" the popular items will sticking it too you with the package because its cheaper for them to produce even tho your paying for them to install only want you want anyway

I am just tired of kia dealers marking the telluride up 5-6k over invoice. Wanted to lease but only dealer I found is out of state that didn't mark up told me I had to live in that state. Dealers are so much fun.

I've had a very different experience lately trying to order a truck. I've gone to two RAM dealers and two Chevrolet dealers. The first three dealers were easily a no-go. All their sales personnel turned me off. One RAM dealer got a whole group of guys around me as I was trying to leave. Finally I settle on a 2500 Silverado, and I just found out that the dealer didn't get the order in until ten weeks after I left my deposit. Chevrolet notified them that my color was no longer available. I simply do not understand.

My sister went in to get a jeep down around DC. She told them she was getting her own financing and they talked her into applying for credit just to see if they can beat her rate. She told them, after they came back she said no thank you, I'll bring in a cashiers check when I pick up the jeep in a day and a half. She came in with the check in hand to walk out with the keys and they said, oh we don't need the check you took one of the load offers. She said no, I didn't sign anything and told you I'd be in with the check. They told her they could go back on it so she just took it. Here they forged her name to the final paperwork and processed it. She was pissed, when she told me I said why didn't you just call the cops right on the spot. I wouldn't have taken that car at all. I get she wanted to do it on her own but man, I wish she'd had called sooner. Our dealer where we live is nothing like that. They'll show you the invoice. She had zero experience with people of this caliber, now she knows how DC is run.

Subaru takes customer orders. Factoy ordered in May..Delivery first week Aug. Includeds 2 week factory shutdown for maintenance and employee vacations.

I just factory ordered an LT Trailboss. I had to visit a 3rd dealership since I get the gm supplier price through work, and the first two dealerships I visited felt it wasn’t worth their time since they can now sell most trucks at sticker price. Also, my dealership was able to lock the rebate as well.

YOU CAN NOT ORDER WHAT YOU WANT. You order what they want you to have. I wanted a base Trailblazer with only the cruise. Nope, you have to add the package that is 395.00 more. And now with so-called American cars coming from overseas you never know when you get it. I am 78 3/4 and even sold cars years ago and the process has changed.

Ford locks in current rebate pricing when ordering a vehicle and will honor any additional rebates that may be available when the vehicle arrives. Waiting is the shitty part but I can’t find the vehicle in the combo and options I want so waiting for it is the only way to get one.
