Best Ways to Use Log Splitter Wedges

In today's video, Jared and Jake (‪@DudeRanchDIY‬) traveled back to the farm to tackle another very common question in the splitting community: What are the best ways to utilize the different types of log splitter wedges?
On hand we had the RuggedMade 737-30 style splitter along with the two-way, four-way, and six-way wedges as we split some different sized rounds and discussed tips and tricks.
Jake has years of experience as an arborist and splitting his own firewood to burn and sell, so he has all kinds of insight into how to best split green wood vs seasoned, elm vs oak, and how to best cut down that monster log full of knots.

I've used my splitter now for over 1 year. It's still going strong. I think i finally have enough smaller logs saved up to warrant the 6-way wedge. Gonna order it. *update* i bought it it is great, saves alot of time, rounds with smaller knots is no problem, it works great once you get used to it. In my opinion, the splitting rhythm is way different but once you and your helper get familiar with it,,, its super 👌 👍 😍 I split 80% douglas fir, and 20% big leaf maple and oregon cherry, works awesome for those 3 species for me.
