On the outward train trip, a coach party had booked up half the train, forcing the rest of us into one carriage The presence of a very drunk group made for an interesting cultural experience. Sadly, one of the party had a mouth on her like a sewer which wasn't very impressive when there were young kids in the same carriage. Hey-ho. The trip back was MUCH quieter!

I disagree with the reply here. I think it’s an accurate reflection of the sort of behaviour that sadly some people do exhibit when in a public place. This extra comment from you here to explain is sufficient explanation of the rowdy behaviour you experienced. When we, as members of the public, go on this trip we do not sadly get the nice music playing in our ears automatically, so the accuracy is justified! Well done on another informative blog, I like the new feel to them personally.

I think Vectra 548 needs to get back down on his knees and pray a bit harder! “Sorry mate” is a condescending and egotistical verbatim! To complain about something that you may not like and then call someone your mate is outrageous and laughable also unforgivable! Maybe we should get that lady back to tell him to fook off! Rant over!

A nicely presented video and kudos for choosing music that does not assault the mind with a discordant shrieking sonic barrage that many think imperative to adding value to their videos.

Thanks Colin, I do spend some time choosing the music. I don't please everyone but tend to avoid the shrieky stuff!

Great to see Dougal in his little coat. Also loved the tours and the experience on the train. I felt like I was on the train with you. Your videos are always really informative and it contrasted well with the views out of the windows and the chatter in the background. Hearing the others chatting away kept it authentic 🙂

Cracking little video, my 2 favourite Distilleries!! I stay in Dufftown at least twice a year, one for the Whisky Festival and again for New Year (Bagpipes, Fireworks and free whisky!!!) I've been going for 15 years and still haven't done the Duff/Keith Train, I really should. If you'd like a more 'permanent' base to settle into for a few days so you can explore more, we have a Cottage that sits just under Balvenie Castle, it's our family cottage but is always open to Visitors for 'Mates Rates' when we're not there. Dufftown/Aberlour/Craigellachie have so much to offer to people who want to walk, explore, cycle etc. I just need my Lottery win so I can move up to the Highlands permanently. :)

Ooh, that sounds like a lovely offer, thanks Alexandra. And when you win the lottery, we could do with living next door ;@)

Fantastic tour in all that 'liquid sunshine'. Great to see the old diesels still working. I am no railway expert but I do remember being taken home by one of those (in Southern Region livery) on the Southern Region during a big train strike in the 1980s. I loved it then and still like the big windows and the bench seats. Distillery tours look amazing, especially when you can blend your own. Will have to get up there sometime. Thanks for another great vlog, kisses to Dougal.

An extremely interesting tour video. I always enjoy the old DMUs which were once commonplace and just transportation, but now bring back memories. I also loved the distillery tours. I am very familiar with Glenfiddich bottled products but I have never toured a distillery or, unfortunately, ever set foot in the British Isles, so this was my one chance to see the place.

Great Vlog Andrew and Dougal! We did that exact trip on the railway when we were there in April. My Greyhound managed to fall down the gap between the train and platform at Keith, but the staff were really helpful and let me have a ladder to go down on the track and lift him up. Really enjoyable trip though. Have the cooperage and Strathisla on the list for next time. Thumbs up from us 👍🏻

How lovely that Dougal is allowed on trains. Is that common in the U.K.? Not allowed in the states, & now states are passing laws that we may not leave our dogs unattended in our RVs! Most federal parks do not allow dogs on trails, only at campsites & on roads.

Andrew, regarding your migraines. May I suggest Advil Liqui-gels. They were a life saver for me when I lived in N. America. Here I buy from Amazon. Also sold as Kirkland Ibuprofen Capsules, 200mg.
