I have both, the shure slx d with the ksm8 and the sennheiser ew-d with the e935 capsule… I have my own professional audio equipment for my own band use, its a complete audio we use on private venues, such as weddings, quinciañeras etc… The thing is, thank the lord we have to much gigs in one single day, and i always like to bring my own mic even if we are using someone else’s audio, for two reasons., 1 safety/sanitation.. I decided to buy my own mic when a night club microphone gave me severe labial herpes, the clubs sound engineer sucked, and i had to forced my voice and brought the mic extremely close to my lips and touched it a few times.. Right after i got off stage i felt my lips burning.. i got herpes on both my lips, it was a painful week and a half… So i decided to bring my own mic everywhere even if some audio guys dont like it.. Ive used multiple brands and capsules.. Here in california, mexican night clubs usually hire us for one hr set up on stage… When we finish, the people decide if they want to pay for another hr at their table, so we get off stage and head to their table location to play any songs they ask for.. So their we only use about four wireless mics, two for us the singers, one for the tuba and one for the harmonics.. I bought the shure slxd because i liked the feature where you can give it a bit more gain straight from the wireless transmiter in case the audio guys dont do their job right.. But i had a lot of feedback issues with the ksm8 capsule when performing infront of the stage, (at the tables) And when we would go very far from the stage, there was like a little delay on the mic response wich fucked me up because i was behind the bands temp.. And that mic was marketed as a low latency transmitter, and I found out its not, The wireless i use for the tuba its a dam glx-d a lesser shure system and it don’t have the same problem, Plus the signal would cut off when the club was too crowded and me 100 ft away from te stage.. Sennheiser not only sounds better… it has literally zero latency, and it has app you can use on your phone to control the imput and out of the mic.. So i can be right infront of the front of house speakers with zero feedback issues and yiu don’t sacrifice audio performance at all, The sennheiser ewd its the best option, to much system for the money, Shure really disappointed me, especially after I ordered 10 glx-d,r instrument systems only to find out they interfere with eachother if you dont waste another $500 on a stupid antena frecuencie manager bs…

just a quick correction: the 845 is hyper cardioid, and the 65 is the condenser hyper cardioid

Shure does have a manufacturing facility in China but the Chinese manufacturing facility manufacturers a different line-up of microphones than the Mexican manufacturing facility. Are the same quality and reliability standards used for each factory? Shure says “Yes” But we say No! we dismantled it and found out that it also contained other components, we did tests and then shure is not the reliable shure from Mexico, but a cheaper version from China! this is also the reason shure started working with china! the expensive Series are also built in China! such as ULXD, QLXD and the Axient! we are sorry, but no more shure for us, the factory in china that builds shure is the Suzhou China manufacturing facility, this is the same factory that builds logitech, keyboards and trackpads etc, obviously these are smart people, but where is their music knowledge? too bad for shure but we are going over to Sennheiser! they make really top products and want the best quality!
