I am not a fan of biomech but Angel's tattoo was badass. Also I actually like Austin's trash polka piece. However it would bother me that there was no IV on the clock. At least with the two you can add tiny detail in it. And also for Doom's first portrait, it's not that bad. I mean it's not good but I've seen other artists do worse on their first portrait.

That’s usually what happens. My tattoo artist was eliminated because he didn’t do line work. Overall his tattoo was the best one, said so by the judges but since he focused on realism he didn’t do like work. Even if your tattoo was the best one there , if there isn’t minor details then you’re out.

Man I’ll give it to cleen, he came off like a jerk but was always helpful and always put what the client wants and what the artist can do first. He was a good dude who just played “hard” but he’s insanely talented. His season with Anthony is still my all time favorite because I think that season had some of the best work

Agreed about their season. Man, say what you want about Cleen, he does a good tattoo. Re-watching his seasons, he got very few bad critiques bc there just wasn't much to pick at and I don't think there was a single time he had technical issues. His utter inability to understand human emotions on the other hand.... Like, I don't think he's trying to be a jerk - I think he's really just confused when people feel a way he doesn't.

A lot of these technical application they have to do often show up in every season. Portrait, new school, American traditional etc etc. a lot of them are consistent. My question is several seasons into ink master. How some of them don’t think hey I’ve never done portrait and I’ll be on the show in a couple months. Or before signing up. How they don’t think hey maybe I should practice a little. Or ask others hey how do I do this? What are some tips you can give me. I get not knowing trash polka or stuff that isn’t common. But the traditional common stuff practice even if it’s just a little. A little is more then nothing.

I wonder if part of it isn’t “I hope they do [insert style here] on the first week and I can skate by with a bigger crowd bringing the overall quality down”. Also I’d imagine part of it is played up for cameras. I bet they’ve all done some form of American traditional, but it sounds better for the show to have a clip where they’re pulling their hair out saying they’ve never done it compared to one where they’re like “man I’m kinda shaky on this I only do like one-two a year”.

@@sof_t_ It's the fact that they're far from home, they have to do a certain style and certain subject matter with a very small time window as well as dealing with people that might not be cooperative. Just imagine trying to tattoo a photo realistic animal in 4-6 hours where as in the real world, there are no time limits for your tattoos. There's a lot of pressure here.

I was bullied and did join JROTC in high school and the Army afterwards. It really helped me build my confidence and gave me a place were I felt accepted and valued. As a 4'11" woman who was a tomboy, I didn't fit in with most of the students and occasionally caught flack in the Army, but by then I didn't care anymore. It really depends on the individual if that would be good advice or not.

I’ve seen peoples shirts inside out more than once I’m this show - I think when they have logos or brand names they make them flip them for legal reasons

I feel like if another man tattooed the time HE was born on my body without me knowing, should almost be like sexual assault. I didn’t want it and I’m permanently scarred from it lol.
