I've been a devotee of the squalane and squalane w/ rose oils for several years now, but fell in love with the tea tree cleansing gel and the omega moisturizer and hand cream within the past year. Medical situations have led to my skin going absolutely off the deep end crazy, and the tea tree gel is the only thing that seems to help calm the inflammation, and manage the breakouts, flaky spots, and oily patches. The omega moisturizer is my final step every night before bed, and I carry the omega hand cream and a sample size bottle of the squalane and rose oil in my purse. I've used, carried, and refilled that travel bottle so much that the lettering is almost gone, and I will not leave home without it.

See I feel you!! I hadn't tried the omega cream in this video, but now I have and WOW is it ever amazing. I've tried a lot of other products and I keep coming back to Biossance. They're so underrated!

I loved your reviews, I just recently received my 1st order direct from Biossance, I ordered vitamin c + rose oil and the probiotic moisturizer, I also ordered the eye peptide serum and eye cream duo travel size to try out. I have extremely dry, scaly red patches, I'm 51, several health issues that cause these red, dry blotches. After 2 applications (AM/PM) I have a visually noticeable improvement and and it feels 100% better. I don't think I was ever so excited about doing my skin routine than I was this morning for Day#2. Anxious to save up more $$(yes I agree, a bit pricey) when something finally agrees with my skincare needs, the price seems irrelevant.

Great overview - thanks I love the Omega repair cream. Yes Demodex is definitely a thing and most dermatologists will mis-diagnose for acne rosacea. Tea tree will kill them. It took me a year to figure out what I had and finally figured it out because of KZbin. If you have If you “acne” that isnt responding to normal treatments and is spreading - try tea tree mixed with squalane or jojoba. If you notice relief at all (i noticed relief immediately) then apply up to four times per day and get rid of all makeup, brushes, change face cloths and pillow cases daily.

@@AliceintheRabbitHole isn't it weird like that? It's usually the products that I think I'm going to love, I'm not that impressed with, but then the simplest thing works so well for me or I just fall in love with. This is a weird question, but where do you store all of your products? I'm literally running out of room in my bathroom. And do you believe in mini fridges? For skin care? I think they can be useful for products that aren't oil heavy. I think they can be useful for sheet masks and just specific creams or serums that you are going to be holding on to for a while

I have a big box in the bottom of our regular refrigerator - everything I'm not using regularly is put in there (it's full of masks mostly lol!) The only exception is that I also keep my L-AA in the fridge and just go get it when I use it. A mini fridge is probably a very wise choice for those who use L-AA or other less stable ingredients - but it's a short hike from my bathroom to kitchen, so I haven't justified the cost yet haha!

I only did a patch test on my hand and it seemed fine but I’ll approach it with caution on my face. My sister has half the samples so I really wanna trade with her now so I can try the probiotic moisturizer. I’ve always been wary of anything with tea tree oil even though my skin is pretty tolerant of a lot of potentially sensitizing ingredients... but you never know when your luck might run out! That is exactly me these days - SUPER CAUTIOUS lol. It doesn't help that it seems some times my skin can handle a potential irritant and other times it can't (although I've been digging even deeper into this, and apparently that is very much the exact problem - ie Biossance may have an incredibly low amount of lavender in their products, whereas another brand might have a smidge too much...but just enough to trigger the inflammation cascade!)

Vitamin C is the ingredient responsible for the brightening effect, whereas squalane is a non-irritating emollient that is excellent for keeping the skin hydrated and soft. My plan (and really, what I've been doing for ages!) is to keep using vitamin C serums and layer 100% squalane after the serum and before moisturizer. I do wish biossance disclosed percentages! But yes, from what I can tell, I believe the rose is the only difference As for the squalane, i do prefer Biossance’s to the Ordinary’s - and get this, if you shop the biossance site at the right time, it’s a FRACTION of the price of TO’s. I’ve seen the full size bottle for as low as $16 (for 3.4 oz). There should also be some deals on holiday sets if that interests you - I know I saw some last year that had a great value! Hope that helps ☺️

I’ve seen this brand everywhere but I didn’t give them much thought . It was one of those brands that were in the back of my mind to research later on but would forget about again. How does the moisturizer with probiotics compare to the drunk elephant protini. I liked the protini but I don’t want to support that brand. Also where did you get those earrings. I need them.
@AliceintheRabbitHole4 жыл бұрын
See that was me!! I didn't think that much of this brand even WHILE I was using the squalane - they exceeded my expectations though. I'd say DE's is much thicker, so my only concern would be that it might be easier to pan their gel moisturizer as it's tempting to use more than is necessary - while thick textures are often easier to control usage. And AliExpress - alllll my jewelry comes from AliExpress (aside from the earrings I wear daily; have to wear solid gold long-term but can wear cheap jewelry for short periods of time). I cut corners there because there's little reason for me to splurge on jewelry I can't wear for extended periods haha!
@TracyD24 жыл бұрын
AliceintheRabbitHole I never looked into aliexpress I heard lot about them. I am gonna check them out because earrings always fall out of my ears and I lose them. I’m not sure why. My jewelry box is heartbreaking to look at. I have one of every earring. Another question. I might have asked you this a while ago. Did you ever find a decent enough dupe for Sunday Riley’s Good Jeans. I use other AHAs all the time but SR’s makes my skin look amazing instantly. I don’t get it. 🤷🏻♀️

Tracy, my jewelry box is the same. I need to sit down and organize it one day. Sigh.
@AliceintheRabbitHole4 жыл бұрын
I hate that I know what you’re talking about lol. SR has such a stinking good formula and it’s extremely unfair lol. In terms of “fastest overnight glow” I don’t have drugstore favorites here sadly (TO’s lactic is great but slower in results, again suggesting SR has something potent going on synergistically). I do think Shani Darden has harnessed some of that synergy with Retinol Reform - that one gives me a similar glow although admittedly, it SHOULD be less potent than GG as it’s really not very high in lactic acid (perhaps the retinol drives the potency though - that could make sense). So I guess I’ve never found an exact dupe for ingredients, and yet I do think there are ways to replicate the effects

Wrt to GG, what about this: you can find some good prickly pear extract from Evan Healy (Blue Cactus Beauty Elixer) or just straight up from Amazon for $25. What if you paired that with TO's lactic acid?

Would the vitamin c rose oil go on before or after moisturizer?
@AliceintheRabbitHole4 жыл бұрын
Either works, but with squalane being more emollient than occlusive, I personally prefer it before moisturizer ☺️
@amarisalonzo-romero56314 жыл бұрын
AliceintheRabbitHole thanks for responding! I can’t tell if my Cosrx snail cream and my moisturizer are able to penetrate the oil though so I’ve been doing the oil before and after because I’m extra like that and I forget I can barely afford this oil 😂

Yes...I do believe you but the face spiders sounds made up but holy hell. HOLY HELL. How does one know if they have this??

Everyone does, but an overpopulation can manifest as redness/rashes

Indeed. You’d think that the higher the price of a product, the more transparency on percentages. Ironically it seems to be the opposite!

I can’t find any tea tree oil products without lavender oil in them. Do you have any recommendations?
@AliceintheRabbitHole4 жыл бұрын
It's frustrating, right?! For about a year at this point, I've added a SINGLE drop of the body shop's 15% TTO to my oils (including squalane). I'm considering getting 100% TTO and diluting it into some squalane - normally I wouldn't recommend this, but neither squalane nor TTO require any preservatives. The catch is, you still do have to be cautious not to overdo the TTO and of course to only use the mixture once it's fully mixed. Wish I simply had a product rec but yeah...reality is that I do not ☹️
@atldawn24 жыл бұрын
Yea that’s all I found too... that I’d have to mix my own. The Biossance one has not been bad, as the lavender oil is far down the ingredient list but was just wondering if I was missing something. Thanks! ❤️

Bizarre concept right?! But yeah, they're harmless as long as the quantity of them is kept in check (which basic hygiene should take care of for MOST people, although overpopulation isn't necessarily a sign of bad hygiene)

I'll tell you an eye cream that isn't worth the hype or the price. Sunday Reilly's Auto Correct. I was gifted it. It is fine, just not any better than No.7 eye cream. I own Uncle Buck. I knew we were sisters from another mister. 😂😂😂😂😂😂❌✖❌

I will always stop channel surfing when Uncle Buck is on (and it's on fairly often haha!) Yeah I'm not surprised to hear that - I still stand by my belief that Sunday Riley has SOME incredible products, but definitely some misses (remember that foundation that had terrible reviews?!)

The marine algae eye cream is a game changer. Maybe give it more time or be more consistent w the application.Also u can get it for a great price right now on their website. It really does improve fine lines & puffiness & really hydrates if u have issues w dryness. 🤓
