We invite you to discover the Bissagos Islands, an isolated territory of Guinee Bissau, in West Africa. These sacred lands resemble a vast river delta.
Marcelinho is a traditional healer from Empincha, a village situated on the island of Carache in the Bijagos Islands. He learned the art of traditional medicine from his father and has been practicing it to treat people in the northern islands. In recent years, Marcelinho has also received training in the fundamentals of modern western medicine from foreign doctors.
The Bissagos Islands are home to the island of Orango, situated in the far south, and designated as a World Biosphere Reserve and the country's first National Park. Pedro, a generous man, resides on this island and works as a reporter for Okinka Pampa, Orango's small radio station. He is always on the lookout for stories to share with his listeners.
Quintino, residing on the island of Caravella, is preparing for the fanado, the highest initiation rite that will unlock a mysterious and secret world to him. This rite is considered the most important phase of his life and is celebrated by the community with great enthusiasm.

You know KZbin is getting really silly when they don't let you show a speared fish without blurring it out. That's just asinine.

It is to help us become sensory adapted to not seeing actual events. It is why they call it censoring. Eventually we not not easily be able to separate what is real from that which is created.

Lets hope the lovely harmony that is the great thing about their traditional ways can be preseerved as they encounter discoveries and knowledge of other peoples .All knowledge is good but not when people lose their Great traditions and communities. Its great for a tree to reach for the sky but only if it doesn't lose it's roots in doing so.We have a lot to learn from each other.

The man said we are poor. I disagree, they live better than people in various parts of the world who dwell in a more modern infrastructure. Why? Clean water, healthy foods, no Internet, and the various other distractions and temptations that corrupt modern society as a whole. These people seem to be at peace, and that's priceless.

During a 50-minute documentary of a very interesting people they spend all the time reporting about the men's lives. Women seem to be extras, their faces shown for decorum. When you purport to document the lives of a remote, ancient people you shouldn't ignore one half of them.

Because the colonial west/America were not allowed in, that’s why there’s no division, hate, corruptions, greed and all kinds of immortalities as so called human rights then teach their youths how to be disrespectful, lazy and prostitutes then Homosexuals as human right. Ransack their lands and turn it to military base, turn their boys into lazy and arm them with weapons to terrorize and their people by teaching them how to be greedy. Then Tell the world they discovered the place and rename after their selves including their rivers and everything including changing their language and traditions. So that’s why they stayed original and not spoiled like other Africans that allowed colonial west/America in their nation and they brought greed, and all kinds of corruptions, hate, divisions among one another as colonial west/America ransacked their countries and turned them into slaves. So this part of Africa is original and they are smart that’s why they are still sacred because they live by their own laws, norms and traditions.

John 3:16 Context 13And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. 14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
