Inflation already have a significant impact on individuals and their cost of living. As a result, it can cause negative market sentiment. It is important for individuals and businesses to find ways to navigate and potentially mitigate the effects of inflation on their finances. The current economic climate, including underperformance of financial markets due to fear of inflation, has led to a decrease in the value of my portfolio. I would appreciate any recommendations on how to potentially increase returns during this market downturn.

The stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over $80k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look.

Such market uncertainties are the reason I don’t base my market judgements and decisions on rumours and here-says, got the best of me 2020 and had me holding worthless position in the market, I had to revamp my entire portfolio through the aid of an advisor, before I started seeing any significant results happens in my portfolio, been using the same advisor and I’ve scaled up $450k within 17 months, whether a bullish or down market, both makes for good profit, it all depends on where you’re looking.

I was a farmer (yes, I said, was). This breaks my heart. I had to sell my cattle because the cost of hay, grain, minerals, diesel, etc. went sky high. I sold my hogs off also. Farmers are having to sell because of rising prices and falling prices for cattle. I don’t know what consumers will do in the future? People need to find local farmers and buy from them. Better product than store bought.

Compared to the whole value of my portfolio during the last three years, I have no debt and a very little amount of money in retirement accounts. To be completely honest, the information provided by invt-advisors can only be ignored but not neglected. Simply undertake research to choose a trustworthy one.

I worked in a in a busy pawn shop, where people would bring in designer handbags and watches for loans. Unlike gold, those items are a trifle, not an investment, but people buy them to look richer than they are, not realizing that the truly wealthy do not give a f* - they don't have to! I'm like, why would I advertise, on my body, someone's grossly over-priced product for them? It's all for appearances. That's what the American Dream is: an image of how people think things should be, instead of how things really are.

Yeah, that's just poor financial planning. With that kind a salary, he should be able to put 30% aside for investments and 10% away for savings every month. With a 10% savings rate, he'd save 120K a year. Automating bank transfers and investing is the key. The guy went broke very likely because he was paying too much for housing and cars. The recommendation is not to pay more than 28% of gross income for housing and ~10% for cars. However, 28% of 1.2 million is 336K a year. So, at that level of salary buying an expensive house even within the limit can be very costly if you lose your job. So a 6-12 month emergency fund with such big expenses is a must.

Something I've always speculated on... If any of my countrymen experienced the kind of desolation that exists in the truly poor areas of the world they wouldn't suffer themselves to live through it. Even when poor we have -AC -Clean water -Indoor plumbing -Electricity -Never have to worry about the refrigerator -Grocery stores are constantly full -Many more "basic necessities" Sure there's the economic stress and payment stress, but the people here will never revolt because they're kept very content with fattening food and mind numbing entertainment.

While California is the richest state in the U.S. it also has some of the worst problems with poverty. A lot of that wealth is generated by large companies that don't necessarily sell their products or spend their profits in California. Peoples' paychecks are also effected by California's high taxes meaning a lot of the state's wealth is owned by the government. Finally California shares what is left very unequally among a huge population. Unfortunately company headquarters, luxurious government buildings, and private yachts don't help combat poverty.

Giving food away, "regardless of the income" like this documentary points out is a stupid thing to do in America. I had a friend who had 3 houses that he rented out, and he was living in his own house. He's rich by any standard. Wife had great job. But they went to food banks like this to get their food -food meant for the poor and the struggling but many greedy, rotten people take advantage of it. There should be an income verification and the money saved should go to other assistance programs
@tracymarquez6875
@tracymarquez6875 Жыл бұрын
Very true, they need to verify income, and the neediest go to the front of the line, but the greediest are allowed to take the best portions/choices of food! When I had to go to a food bank in California and I qualified in the past, I gave up going, because I would see homeowners lining up at the front of the line daily receiving free hot meals/free groceries, and the lines were extra long, sometimes I’d be told we’re out of food, and just leave empty handed. Some non poor people want free hot meals so they don’t have to cook at home, or to save money, not because they’re struggling financially! The system is messed up, and unfairness is a great shame!

Here... the Netherlands. Is this the American dream I learned at our Dutch school? Terrible this. We had the same disease but everything went on as usual, restaurants were closed but many companies have been helped by the government. If you are ill here in the Netherlands, you pay an excess of 385 euros and after that you are entitled to free treatment for the rest of the year, even if you lie in bed with 10 broken arms and two broken lungs. No one lost his or her job here... unemployment is sadly low and there are too many jobs. Okay, we don't drive such big cars as you do, and we have smaller houses, but happiness is not in things but in a healthy environment. A government that is there for you when you are having a hard time. We pay for that (high taxes) but on the other hand, everyone in the Netherlands is well off. If you are homeless here, then it is your own fault... and even then you will be helped.

They never did and I had to use my hail mary in the GI Bill so I can avoid default on my car note and bills, its been 3 years and I still haven't recovered, I'm going to be 30 next year and I'm still in debt, got out of homelessness by moving in with my parents and was forced to go back to my old line of work and join my local law enforcement (something I tried my best to avoid). I've gotten a lot of hate for becoming a cop from friends, family and strangers but they were the only ones who offered me a good job after years of looking, a whole lot of talk was going around about helping each other out but not a whole lot of walk.

Let me explain what you are seeing here. Someone indicated that this is a video from January 2020. Back then people panicked and cleared out the stores of food and water. This was when the pandemic was starting to hit the US. So this is why you are seeing all of these people in luxury cars in line to get free food. You couldn't buy it if you wanted to. I was working for a food bank myself at the time this went down and the food bank was giving it's employees free food as well.

@@BenState The food bank I worked at during this time got their food from three different sources. The federal government supplied canned food. Stores gave unsold food to the food bank. Although we had to go through it as a lot of it was straight up trash. A lot of it was spoiled or would spoil soon. The last was from the public that came in to donate food. Once this mess got started store and public donations ceased. Government food still came in though. The food bank had a large inventory of food stored before this mess got started. So that is how they got their food.

This needs to stop. 🖐️ This media driven panic and sensationalism. We are not on the brink of collapse or disparity. My inbox is full of good, entry level job offers. Some will take food even with good jobs. We Americans still love and care for each other, and we would not be so politically divisive except for the media and a handful of politicians who thrive on it and keep it going. Do better media. Suggestive thought is not going to break me, and you should be ashamed for what you are doing to those who are influenced by you. Help us heal and grow as a people. Do something good and encouraging. But please stop writing the destruction of mankind into reality.

im old millennial born 1981 41 years old. there has been a war on my generation for over 10 years now. any time you hear millennial its something bad we are always attacked and made fun of. meanwhile, hardly any of us ever had a chance to buy a house for a fair price because we were not far enough along in our working careers to have saved for a downpayment. A lot of millennials people age 41 and younger are very depressed. a lot of us come from families that were 1 parent or divorced or something like that because broken homes became rampant in the 1990s when we were growing up before we were adults. it feels like the generations older than us Gen x and boomers all dislike us millennials and younger. a lot of us were never married or had a kid either. im a good guy smart and have worked plenty hard since i was a teen. yet. never married. no kids. never owned my own home. and now, im paying crazy high rent. it seems there is no hope i will ever get a an opportunity for some good deals in life like previous generations got. its almost like my generation was targeted to be the first gen that will end up living in a more communist system. in recent years huge apartment buildings are popping up everywhere. they refuse to build us enough single family homes with yards etc. they want to cram us in shitty apartments with high rent and turn us into slaves. this is why many younger people are giving up and refusing to work or not working much. feels like there is nothing to work hard for.

As a parent of a millennial, I so thoroughly agree with you. Your generation hit with one major financial crisis after another. I'm disgusted by the current attitudes towards your generation. Inequitable distribution of wealth started in the 80's under Reagan. It's just getting worse.

Bringing a child into this evil, fucked up world is the cruelest thing you can do. Nothing but pain, misery, suffering and a 70-80 death sentence. People say they "LOVE" their children but you can't love something when you don't have the slightest clue what that word even means. There is no real love in this world. Not how it used to be. Words like love & friend have completely lost their meaning these days. Now all we have are warped, twisted versions of those words.
