Unlike previous animal crossing games, the characters in this one won't move without your permission so you have to check the characters you want to move every day to see if they have a thought bubble over their heads and if they do have one, talking to them should show the "move" option and that's how they leave!

If you want more rooms to decorate, you can add multiple accounts to your Nintendo switch and create new characters on your island. This will allow you to build more houses. You have to pay loans all over again, but hey, it gives you a purpose to save up for bells again. Haha.

YO SO the "quarantine ur villagers and theyll move away" bit is totally not real. The algorithm of the game LITERALLY requires you to build your friendship with each villager to a certain level/tier before they ask to move out. The best and fastest way to make them move is to talk to them as much as you talk to the rest of your villagers and hope for the best.

Your villagers have to ask your permission to leave. So trapping them and not talking to them doesn’t work.
