I can fully understand where he's coming from. When I began playing WoW at the end of Wrath I remember that there was a thriving community. I remember coming into Cataclysm, some of my friends going off to do hardcore raiding and being in awe, and also jealous that I didn't have the gear or the time to join them. The simple fact was that even then you had to work and put in time to get gear, to progress past that level from running dungeons to running raids. Now the gear is laid out for us, with just about the only requirement to be awarded with something being to turn up. There's not much in the way of a challenge anymore. The way WoW is going now is unsettling. I've always hated the grinding, especially farming those Netherwing eggs for reputation in old Outland. But there was at least a reason behind it! The reward at the end was made so sweet, not only by getting the mounts, but also by knowing I never had to farm those eggs again (unless I wanted the mounts for an alt!). And I can say that I felt the same way with each and every grind. It was almost painful at times, but always worth the effort. What do we get for earning exalted now? Some gear that I could easily replace by doing an LFR run, or some boring mount. I don't remember the last time we had a reputation that awarded a genuinely impressive mount, or something really special. I remember still needing a guild group to run ICC during cataclysm, because good gear still took time to get. It's depressing that you can buy your way to a high level, or to a full wallet of in-game money (which is never enough in-game money!), or the next store mount or pet. The magic is disappearing from the game. The comradery isn't far behind. People don't group up like they used to, because the game isn't challenging enough to warrant working together. But like so many people who've been playing for well, a decade, I can't bring myself to just walk away. I might log in two or three times a week when I used to log in for several hours a day, but there's no real purpose to it now besides to check in with guildmates. Most of the time I'll just pick a nice mount to sit on whilst I talk in /g chat. I have no drive to do LFR runs or dungeons. It's soul-sucking enough doing world quests. We can keep hoping the game will get better, but there's a constant nagging feeling in the back of my mind that eventually it's going to go too far down the pan, if it hasn't already. I dread the day when Blizzard will be told by Activision to "pull the plug" on what was many of our youths. Probably after some last ditch attempt to monetize the game with lootboxes or some other god awful scheme. It's sad that now I'm more worried about all the money and time I've invested in the game disappearing (it's only pixels after all), than whether the game can actually be saved.

@@odeholo1024 Mythic raiding would be fine if I had the time, or the drive to do it. But it's just rinse and repeat when the next raid tier comes out. The sad truth is many of us who grew up with the game don't have the time anymore. We have work to do, families to support. And Blizzard isn't really drawing in any fresh blood to the game. The old hands at the game can only reminisce about the "Glory days". The sad truth seems to be that MMO's just don't attract such interest when most gamers are now looking for the next iteration of Call of Duty or the next MOBA.

When I quit back in Cata, it was my full intention to just take a break untill more people catch up with leveling... but the "break" extended and extended and Cata ended, and MoP came along ... and urge to return slowly went away. I am still in touch with what's going on tho. There were several times when I wanted to return, but after I contemplated about what kind of game it became ... I relized - it's not the same game I loved in vanila and BC. If I return in BfA, I would not even recognize the game anymore, and all my time that went into BC and WotLK raiding means nothing - I need to start from scratch again - so all atachement to my character is gone. Recently tho ... with WoW classic I am starting to get the urge again - to experience all content I was a bit late and missed out on, since I hit 60 after release of Naxx, and getting into raids was not worth it, since BC was arround the corner. My only concern is ... if I want to play classic ... what expansions do I need to buy - do I need to buy everything from MoP to BfA, just to play classic? Or will I need to pay only 15$/month sub. If it's the latter, I realy think I might return in near future....

I quit towards the end of Cata, and the game hasn't been able to sink its fangs into me quite the same since. I've still come back and tried each new expansion, and the game always ends up pissing me off at some point at which I'm basically done with that expansion. BfA has been the worst by far. It's like the opposite of WoD. WoD the game was fun but there wasn't anything to do. BfA there's tons of stuff you could do, but the game isn't fun at all.

I remember the release of BC. i was 13 or 14. and there was a snow storm and the town i live in has a ton of hills (steep hills). My friend, my friends brother, and i climbed into their dads toyota tacoma and braved the journey to the top of the hill where the store was to get copies of BC. It was scary. we almost didnt make it back home. but we did it. all 4 of us played BC that night after installing and playing in the snow. Yes, like asmond, school was closed.

My BC midnight release was at a Gamestop on the edge of suburban and rural Indiana in freezing rain that turned to snow. I was one of the first 5 in line and I don't think more than 30-40 people showed up before I left. My lucky ass was one of the handful of people on my server to get through the portal before the servers crapped out and crashed anyone trying to go into Outland. The few hour head start over most of the server was probably what let me be the 7th Horde and 2nd Warlock on my server to hit 70...and its kinda stupid I still remember that. I think I honestly probably remember leveling in BC better than I remember leveling anything up until maybe....WoD. Though that might be that I only had 2 characters that got to 70 and in subsequent expansions I started leveling many alts and the experiences got blurred together. Which probably says something about how I felt about endgame content in later expansions without really realizing it.

Ever since WoW catered to People who did not enjoy the game or the lore. The game went downhill. Instead you had powerlevelers who get to end game an claim. There is no content. You can ask them. OK I can give you content if you can tell me what happened to this NPC vs this one. They would go Uh.. Uh.... Uh. They have no idea. Because they skipped the content.

Exactly ! Man I remember dying in deadmines during the last days of Vanilla.. That was harsh but the lore with the brotherhood.. that letter leading you to find traitors in SW.. how many people actually try to enjoy this today.. I guess the brotherhood doesn't even exist anymore, quit at the end of WOTLK, can't tell. Nowadays people just click "OK" and look on the minimap where the objective is, soulless bots.. The difficulty that there was back then made you focus on actual content, and more, to socialize with people in order to share knowledge and help.. we won't be able to see this ever again :(

It isn’t just about that. Blizz catering to casual players to get bigger player numbers was reflected in the sense of difficulty. On the Lore side of things and story content I believe that sites like Wowhead, quest helpers and other similar things killed the game. Those things did not exist at the time of the game release and it took a long time to get guides on any raid / dungeon etc. Nowadays the moment content is opened everyone knows a lot more than they would know if these sites and the dungeon journal did not exist.

August 1999: I'm 10 years old. I start playing Warcraft II with friends from school. I spend hundreds of hours over the next couple years playing the shit out of it because it's the best game I've ever seen, and I just can't get enough. September 2001: World of Warcraft is announced. I am fucking HYPED! It sounds amazing, and the teasers released over the next few years look even BETTER! The cinematic trailer is the first piece of gaming media that actually knocks my breath away, and brings tears of excitement and joy to my eyes. November 23, 2004: I'm waiting in line outside GameStop to be one of the first people in my city to pick up a copy of the game. I spend the next few years thinking about WoW all day every day, looking for any excuse I can find to hop on and play. I sneak up in the middle of the night and play until morning, not even realizing that the sun has come up until my mom is standing behind me yelling at me that it's time to go to school. I level to 60, and start raiding with a pretty casual guild. We never even managed to step a single TOE into Naxx, yet I was having a blast! August 14, 2018: I finally logged on to BfA, decked out in mostly normal Antorus gear + a couple heroic pieces. I feel pretty powerful, I've earned this. I made it halfway through the starting zone, tanked a couple dungeons with my main of the last few expansions (A prot Paladin) and for some reason, I just logged out and haven't gone back since. I played maybe a couple hours. There was just something wrong. It wasn't the game I fell in love with all those years ago. There was no effort involved in doing anything, and because of that the rewards didn't feel like anything I had earned. I wanted a challenge, I looked for it all over the zone. Maybe there was some rare elite spawn, or maybe the dungeons would push me to my limit, since I was only 110 still. No. There was no challenge, no effort, no soul. The mage in the dungeon kept pulling aggro on huge packs, and I would scramble to aoe everything and pull them back to me, but I didn't need to. He tanked them just as well as I could. We blew through it, no problem, I got a piece of blue gear that was worse than what I already had equipped, and I just said "screw it, I'm done." Goodbye WoW, I'll always remember you, and thanks for all the fish.

I feel like quitting WoW during mid Cata was the best gaming related decision I've made in my life. Im sorry for you guys but it's time to move on. It's long overdue actually. Let good memories be memories, can't live in the past. Even if they "fixed" the game, it will never be like it used to, back from your childhood/young adult years that you remember so fondly. Gaming is not the friendship-celebratory hobby that it used to. Toxic e-sports culture and greedy companies have ruined that forever.

I've played WoW since Friends and Family Alpha. I was one of the top hunters in the world and in 2 top 50 world guilds for multiple expansions. I'm a huge lore nerd and could probably be a Blizzard Lore Master. I got stuff like the loremaster, ambassador, the diplomat, and explorer achievements/titles/tabards the second they were added to the game because I always did every quest I could find, explored every nook and cranny of the entire world, and grinded rep with every faction before there even was achievements for doing so. I did all these because it was fun and I loved the game and I continued to do all these things right up until BfA. Even WoD had pretty good quests with new mechanics and interesting stories and legion is probably my 2nd favorite expansion behind BC/Wrath 1st place tie. But I couldn't even push myself to finish just the quests in BfA, didn't even do all the 5-mans, and quit like 2 weeks in. It's a singleplayer shitty loot casino game now and I have no urge to play. I used to know the majority of max level players on my server and they knew me, we spent hours hanging out in whatever was that expansion's hangout city and talked to each other every day either in game or on the forums, we ran raids on our alts every week with people not in our guild that we were friends with, if a city was being attacked people would rush to defend it. Even people in the other faction we were friends with outside the game and we'd have friendly banter shit talking with the top guild in the other faction and did 1v1 tournaments and set up world PvP events with them. Now people don't even respond if you try to talk to them in a 5-man dungeon and I don't know a single person who still plays. It's been going downhill since Cata but still hanging on and was still fun to play most of the time and even had some uphill moments on the ride; but with BfA it's dove right off the cliff on the side of the trail and put the last nail in the WoW coffin for me. Sharding, LFR, dungeon finder, time-gating, and Activision management have run the greatest MMO that has ever or will ever be made right into the ground and Blizz's motto of "Gameplay First" has changed to "Give Money for Unfinished/Rushed/Un-earnable Content". The fact that for the last couple expansions you can buy levels in an MMORPG from a company that was already making hundreds of millions to billions of dollars in PROFIT should tell you all you need to know.

I feel you man. That's why i quit once i tried BFA beta during last summer. I just figured it out its absolute trash fest. For me gameplay is very very important even though i was sceptic about Legion it was kind of arcade-ish but after playing BFA beta for less than 30 minutes i couldnt even finish battle for Lordaren scenario (i played with real life friends Legion and once they quit i was gone for good). Other thing that bothered me was also damn community or rather cross realm and click to join thing (keep on mind i did not play WoD). This thing effected community in big and bad way. In last patch of MoP they added cross realm thing and it made me sick, few years later when i returned in Legion it was triple as bad. I used to know people on my servers, their alts, guilds, who is who etc. I was seeing more people from other realms than mine. When i wanted to join raid with an alt all i had to say is who is my main and instant invite (even undergeared) because experience and being good was super rewarding and felt very satisfying. I don't care about lore as long as i enjoy playing my class which wasn't really the case in Legion (not to mention clunkiness i felt in BFA beta). In Legion all i was doing was high mythic keys (20+), however i hated that basically item level & raider io score > skill level and i found myself frustrated a lot of times not only because of that but "meta" in high mythic keys. If you played some unviable spec or class to perfection people just don't care in high keys. YOU WONT get an invite. Anyway i'm glad that i played WoW when it was one of the best games in world, those times i will carry for the rest of my life whenever i speak with friends about it or remember it brings warm to my heart. I don't think official servers of previous expansion will deliver. Many of us grown up have kids, wife etc. New kids are in the block, generally demand for games and such has changed. People nowdays want to get everything fast without too much effort, to just jump into game and have everything. Remember a times when you worked your ass out and waited for that trinket or piece of gear for several months? It made you fulfilled and happy. I used to know various slot pieces of gear by NAME. I have met some many people in WoW that i still hang out with to this day in real life. Such a beatiful game it was. All in all nothing last forever and sooner or later everything will be gone and you have to move on.

I think the most true statement in there was that these gaming companies (as well as comic and movie makers et al) are making content for people who aren't fans of that kind of content and just assuming the actual fans will carry on carrying the franchise. Well, it's been a full-court press since 2014 and I think most 'gamers' just will not accept it anymore and are ready to start over and build a new community/game/movie from scratch. I think 'the Orville' vs 'Star Trek: Discovery' encapsulates it perfectly, or said another way compare the critic score to the fan score on any art/entertainment and you'll see the incredible disconnect - companies tend to listen to critics rather than fans :(

I’ll be honest, I’ve played wow before, but only a couple of 2-3 hour sit downs on family accounts, and I really enjoyed the experience. Growing up I’ve met so many people that play wow for so many years, and I always thought of getting the game for myself. Fast forward to December 25, 2018, I finally got a gaming pc, and really my first pc that actually runs good in general with games and internet. I always wanted wow for myself, and this is the first thing that I’ve see so frequently with everything. It dies down due to not catering to the people that appreciate it, causing to die from the inside out. I’m struggling to find a stable game to stick for many years, and I just can’t find them, due to people/companies only caring about the money and not the quality. For the past 3 years I’ve been buying game after game, never truly sticking with one specifically, hoping I’d find that game one day. I thought that wow would be that game when I got older and got my pc, but I guess Blizzard is also after the money over the quality. It’s depressing really to know that games I’ve played 4-7 years ago are better than the ones I play today. I’ve had more fun on games like MW2, Skate 3, Minecraft(when it was the thing), literally any LEGO game on the wii being played by my 8 year old self. I wish games still had that kind of passion, because it seems like any game that i played 10ish years ago is better than the games now. I haven’t been invested into wow like most people, but I hope it does get better even though it probably won’t, and that games start becoming as great as they were. (Sorry for writing a 5 paged essay). And if I’m wrong about what I said about blizzard, feel free to correct me, cause I haven’t really followed up with wow almost at all, only seeing fragments like vids like this

I was on Stonemaul, started on day 1. I will say it was a solid game up until the end of Wrath. But soon after that it become pretty obvious that a lot of servers needed to merge, and Blizzard did fuck all about it. I was in the top raiding guild on the server, and putting together raids and recruiting top level raiders out of the tiny population... it just became impossible. Classes gradually became less unique. HIgh end raiding became pointless as they introduced easy mode versions of the hard raids. Sold my account during Pandaria and never looked back.

MMORPGs tend to die down after some time. People do grow old of playing the same game for many years straight. Especially when those people grow up, have stable jobs, a family ,etc. Time is precious. I think people are still crazy about WoW numbers dropping. Even if only 2 million people still play in the US alone, that is a lot of people and a lot of money per year. I’ve played MMORPGs and MUDS for many years and I noticed that the same model of play has been around for long time (The WOW model is similar to previous MMORPGs before it, they simply made it easier to access and faster combat).

I remember the midnight releases of TBC, Wrath, Cata, and MoP (after that I just went pure digital) My gamestop was like yours, extremely packed and going around outside the building. I alpha'd, beta'd, quit EverQuest with tears in my eyes, launched World of Warcraft, tried to race to be the first on the server with a mount, and so on. Later I was GM of one of the top 10 world ranked guilds, on Alleria at the time. Once I saw what was happening with WotLK, I quit and later came back for Legion, and now in BfA I see the new and old mistakes and again must say farewell. Fair to say I got out at the right time and missed a lot of trash, I consider myself one of the fortunate

I dont get what people wanted of BFA? When everyone saw the trailer for bfa they all were like mind blown because it looked amazing , but wtf were they thinking bfa would be? its the same engine from 2004 , what new things do you think they can implement? its just same "new" quests , same daily quests, same rep grinding , same things with a different story. Its a very old game , you have seen all the game can offer, people just get bored eventually.

Been playing WoW since Vanilla and I kept on giving them chance after chance...and I'm done. My guild is Heroic cleared on the new Raid and I'm just....over it. There's no motivation to play the damn game anymore. In fact, I gave up when my account bugged out and I lost all of my world progress. Still had the achievements, gear, etc, but I lost my world progress and whatnot. What did Blizzard say to me in regards? "Tough luck man."

Charity is not a public image move for any company, unless they can prove they are non-profit. Companies benefit from charities by getting tax write-offs the same way you or I donating to goodwill or salvation army would. It's actually a money maker. Heard the phrase "gotta spend money to make money"? That what charities do for companies. If it happens to be a hot and popping charity to the public/consumer at the time then its gains the benefit of good public image, but that is merely a side effect of the main purpose. Also, they don't have to break even on a single charity. The plan is they invest in several different charities until they break even or even turn a profit on the investments. The tax breaks essentially pay for things like office supplies, toiletries, general maintenance costs for the building(s). While their biggest profit comes from the games/product.

Said hi to him to ask if he had any news about classic or ideas if there's anything he'd like to play together. It makes me cry for the loss of the first game to have a real, compelling lore. One that could actually be comprehended like a book. Now we have been given mega-bland titan gods and fanboy service of reminiscent bad guys. Frankensteining original concept stories to try and appeal to old players. I weep for Azshara. A monolith of a character that has been alluded to since Vanilla. Players could see shrines of a naga Goddess in their oceanside camps scattered across the world. Now we are given a model of a clunky octopus. Her lore power will be scaled down in game. And she will likely not even get to retain her well deserved final raid boss encounter, instead loose it to N'zoth. To get players to re-up for the much anticipated old gods that have been alluded to in BFA. Not only have we lost the fun of WoW's famed game mechanics. We have also lost the depth and richness of good storytelling.

MOP, was good, but my glory days belong too Cata. I never had more fun in WoW then i did during Cata. Summoning my guild to kill 3 people, then having them summon theirs for awesome pvp combat. The raids were also really fun, if not a bit...repetitive. I quit after MoP, cause i lost the sense of community. I have rejoined for every expac, only too quit after level cap. I remember seeing WoW for the first time, going home and within a week spending my savings on PC components to play what I've seen.. Once downloading I tried it on my Uncles computer whilst waiting and wow, probably the only game I can easily compare to Halo's first time, the feeling of this massive world and being such a small part of it, once I had mine downloaded, I played with my Uncle for 2-3 weeks straight EASILY, didn't even go home, once I did, I got my 2 brothers into it, my brothers girlfriend, my best friend and even his younger brother tried to play, we were amazed, we were enrolled into my Uncles Guild which at the time was one of the best on the server for Alliances, the feeling of all the constant switching throughout WoW was always amazing, first time PvP'ing in the open world was just mind blowing, never had so much fun on a game, I can compare this to Halo in the feeling of playing it the first time, but WoW was x10 better for me, and that's hard to believe even for myself, I'm honestly so grateful that I pulled my addiction away with the rest of my group, my Brother and his girlfriend went onto Lé Panda Expansion and oh lord, I never had the game ruined for me, I stopped in a decently nice expansion, I always wanted to go back for years now, and the urge is STILL there, but I cannot, it's even hard to watch some of Asmongold's videos because I just see WoW, or hear about it and it's instant reminders of what the feeling USED to be.. I will try Classic WoW, but if it's anything less than Classic I'll be leaving as fast as humanly possible.. What a great game, great concept and great community, ruined for what.. Money.. It's actually so upsetting to know that feeling won't be returned as a consumer, games now are sugar coated with whiteknights that help ruin the game they so love.. But they're always the first to leave, actual fans left to deal with the bullshit until the game dies out.. It's petty but thinking about the past experiences and feelings is actually upsetting, sounds so pathetic to say that but it's the truth, WoW is one of the only games in the world I wish to play for the first time again, rest in Peace WoW, rest in peace nostalgia, I will personally miss you alot.

I think the biggest issue with WOW is that blizzard being effected too much by toxic lazy people in the community that only good at complaining instead of do the god damn fucking grind to get what they want. and whats the saddest thing? Blizzard over reacted to them they took away most of the potential features just to be appealing, and also willing to bring in new players by sacrificing veterans and people willing to invest their time in the game. This is the problem, blizzard did something right in the beginning, but years after years of carelessness for whats important they made themselves lesser than even before WOW ever existed, they blamed the industry of MMORPG for the downfall but they don't see they where the one that caused the downfall of MMORPG. In conclusion the toxic player caused Blizzard to start the downfall, and the idiots defend their wrong doing caused the ego withing wow, and the ego the secured this damned fate. They make vital mistake just for some quick buck which damned the game in general such as flying mount killed world PVP, Raid Search and Instant search killed PVE and opportunity for people to make friends, and other centillion reasons. Everything they did was to be appealing to wider audience in order to bring in new players and give half a piss about veteran players, this is like watching your childhood love turning into a drug-addict prostitute.

Book incoming. TLDR: I grew up loving the world, just fooling around and having fun. I love the music. I love the characters and am invested in the lore. I still am. I still listen to the music, read the books, watch the cinematics.. But i dont love the gameplay of the last 3 expacs. And the content is boring, and not memorable. It breaks my heart. I WANT to play.. I really do.. I WANT to see the story, listen to the music, explore the WORLD, just like i used to.. but that is all I can do. the game itself no longer pulls me in. That is why i Criticize it. Not because I hate the game as a whole.. a "wow hater". Because it has gone down hill, and I want it to rise back up again. I love WoW.. just not wod-bfa gameplay. (the music and art is still amazing) Long version ; I grew up with this game. Bought it in the summer of 2005. I was getting ready to go into 6th grade middle school. all of my friends talked about the game, so i picked it up, and my mom paid for my sub. but before that, i played the free trial.. it took me all 7 trial days to reach level 10 and FINALLY get my hunter pet. A wolf. I felt like i overcame an entire game. but wait, there was.. MORE?! I got another free trial. ran out to the barrens and died, over and over. I didnt care, i just wanted to explore. Finally, after playing ALOT of different free trials, and blizzard blocking my IP so i stopped making them, i got the game. I was so happy, that I no longer had to start over. I could continue exploring. By this time, i had mastered mulgore, so I finished it fairly quick and went to barrens. I never once, thought about max lv.I just played the game. i never even noticed when BC came out. I wasnt on forums, the website or had friends ;~; I still played, and when i found out about outlands, i was like.. OH SHIT, even more?! Wrath I remember the launch. (after all the day it came out, was the day i got my puppy ) I was now in 8th grade. I didnt have the money to buy the expac. I raked the leaves in my grandmothers yard so she would buy it for me. Making a DK felt like I was a god. Northrend is still my fav continent ever. Then cata was announced. That is where i fully invested. (not the expac itself, the announcement) I saw people in barrens chat talking about how onyxia was deathwings daughter. im like, WOAH, really?? cool! my wow wiki / wow pedia binge began. I learned the lore. I now knew, who illidan was. who arthas was. I bought my very first WoW book, the shattering, and Stormrage. I became invested in the lore and the characters. The music was data mined from Cata zones and i listened to them non stop. (along with argent tourney ) during that, I learned about the pandaren, and chen. I was one of those people who begged for playable pandaren. and i jumped with joy, blizzcon came around.. Mists of pandaria... I was like YES! FINALLY!! While cata was a dull expac, and at the time, the "worse" one. That is when i started RPing on moongaurd. I met friends and we developed many long story lines for our characters. I made a demon hunter named Kyo. though i had to use the DK, since DH were not playable. The RP helped ease the content drought. Though the patches themselves i was ok with, i got defender title pre nerf. Mists came out, and I loved it. I told myself, im not going to raid. I raided last expac, so im going to RP and enjoy pandaria. I did not regret it. There was so much to do in mists that didnt involve PVE that i was never bored. the reputations, the farm, all of the rares, hidden items. Isle of thunder and giants. timeless isle. 5.1 story line. Then WoD came out. I was still loving WoW and i was hyped for this expac.. who wasn't? even mists haters were hyped. at the end of mists, i REALLY wanted that wolf mount from killing garrosh. so i geared and ran normal mode as a pug to obtain it. I said to myself, i think im going to raid again in WoD. so i did. I was a warrior tank. The first few raids, i was ok in. however the raid themselves, were starting to burn me out... in Wrath and cata, when i raided we had 3 raids to choose from in the first tier.. mists is when it turned linear, though i didnt raid those, only SoO. WoD is where i felt it for the first time.. Running HM normal 20+ times.. followed by heroic HM 15+ times. BRF normal.. then heroic.... By the time HFC came out, i was BURNT to a crisp.. I wanted to take a break from raiding.. i tried to do world content... but.. there was none.. the rares, were no longer rare. you killed them once and moved tot he next one.. the treasures, same thing. you always knew what you were getting, unlike treasure chests. and they were always in the same spot, and you could only loot them once... i just did 1 big circle, got all of it, then i was done.. the Reps were no longer what they used to be. no longer fun, nor really worth doing.. garrison was full T3... this was the first time, ever.. i quit wow... i didnt want to.. i wanted to play, but i just couldnt.. Legion came around.. ok, new content! lets do this.. however it was the same.. There was MORE to do, yes.. however, it was all completed fairly fast.. some i did in a week.. some in a month.. leaving the rest of the time wondering what to do.. I raided, got a few AotC achvs (for EN and Trial) did heroic nighthold, tomb and some antorus. The WQ system was.. eh... but what killed me... not only was the horrible system for "rares" and treasures brought back.. but reps were even WORSE.. you could ONLY gain rep through WQ, whiich was all RNG based, you did the WQ when the game told you for a "boost" in rep, if you didnt, you got next to NO rep. 25 a pop for the only 3 that spawned. the hell?? Broken shore was the same crap, and argus as well.. I quit again. I had nothing to work for any more. I even spent my time going BACK to older expacs to get mounts i had missed. I had way more fun doing argent tourney all over again for the few mounts i missed then doing any of the legion content. now for BFA.. Leveling, just as the last few expacs. took me a day. not quite as linear, which is good, but was still a bit dull since there was to much story. I dont mind story, but when im just thrown into a story with every quest that requires you to do something that i rather not do, i no longer have fun. Imo Wrath had the best mix of story and questing. not to much, not to little, with a few "awesome" moments for larger quest chains (fighting ursoc or even the boss at the end of sholazar's wolvar and gorloc chain). and 1 major event, being wrath gate. islands. quickie npc slaughter romp for little to no reward.. "Azerite" F off with that. Warfronts. I was hoping they would be more long term fights with Real risk vs reward, like old school AV. nope, AFK fests, with more npc romps that give you little to no risk.. and shower you with epics. dungeons.. i LITERALLY fell asleep during one of them (i dont even remember the name, the dungeons are not that memorable. its the one where you kill Izma or w/e her name is. the spider troll) It breaks my heart. I WANT to play.. I really do.. I WANT to see the story, listen to the music, explore the WORLD, just like i used to.. but that is all I can do. the game itself no longer pulls me in.. That is why i criticize it.. I want to see it get better. To become the game i fell inlove with again. That doesnt mean it has to revert to vanilla. Not at all, but it CAN add more engaging WORLD content that is LONG TERM, challenging, not RNG and is rewarding. Add more mini games out int he world that can either be random, or related to the area it is in. Add random events like GW2 has. Make reputations that are more like BCs and Mists (aka, they are all different, and all have 2-3 + ways to gain rep.) Make OPTIONAL / COSMETIC player housing (not garrison bullcrap) I still buy posters, action figures, books. I still play the 3 hour long music mixes of WoW in the background. I still RP (though through discord now) Im still drawing WoW characters, im even drawing a comic that is WoW related! I love WoW.. just not wod-bfa

I'd played WoW Wotlk for about 5 years on a private server. And it was fucking cool. Neved had the opportunity to go to the official and was about to subscribe to WoW Legion because i heard that it was cool and not bad or regular like the previous ones. I've been reading some comments on how easy is to get gear and how its becoming easier every time (In a way, i'm not surprised about this because i see other popular games at the time and its all about the quickness, like being constantly playing and make it easy so you will play it again and i kinda see why Blizz did the same). But i'd love to read more about whats happening: what about the gameplay? Is it getting worse too or is it any good? If you know Runescape or play it, do you think that Blizzard doing the same move would be wise? (RS fucked up so bad the game that they actually released an old version of it and let the community decide how the game should be through polls).

Companies donate money to charities is a tax right off. You don't know what you're talking about. Its not about breaking even. It offers them a large discount which sometimes is worth more then the money they donated. Classic WOW will only be a passing fad. People will come back for a bit and then it will drop off just like normal WOW.

I havent been able to play wow since wrath. I think WOW is top of its genre of MMOs. (theme park) There are much better MMOs if your looking for sandboxy type ones though. Darkfall and Mortal kept me hooked for years now. Vanilla ought to be fun though, cant wait for that. The challenge and feel of vanilla is something modern wow is lacking.

The "voice" sounds like a knock off Morty. On a side note, my first midnight release was epic. It was for the WotLK exp and the Gamestop I had visited had an actual seat made from Ice with a fur pelt on the throne. It was one of the best experiences I shared with my brother and dad.

WoW will never die, simply because there are no decent MMOs being released to kill it. People have already invested so much money into WoW, and don't want to see their money just thrown away. I think WoW also need to make the game more friendly to new gamers, I stopped playing before BFA and for me to return to shadowlands it will cost £75 and then following a subscription. The level 20 free trial is a joke, let new players max out characters and actually get to play the game, instead of a massive pay wall!!!!

Sad days are upon us. For myself being 46 years old I had been through this before. First was, IMO, the best PVP MMO ever - Dark Age of Camelot which I played for over six years only to watch the game slowly die. The feeling of nostalgia for better days would soon fade away as WOW emerged and I reluctantly joined old guildes whom went on to WOW to fill that void in the first few months of launch. I had found "it" again. A new world to explore, new sensational experiences were had and years went by all to fast adventuring in this world of Azeroth. I even got tickets to the first BlizzCon in 2005. I remember at one of the panels we were shown video and screenshots of Burning Crusade, places like Karazahn were mindblowing! Expansion after expansion came and went. I remember when Cataclysm launched where in Stormwind where the quest launcher started you couldn't select the NPC because the place was so packed with players. So i said F* it and just grinded out archeology and had many firsts on my server doing so. Right before the Warlords of Draenor launch I watched the Looking for Group documentary and finished it just minutes before the launch as it came online. It powered me with such fervor and enthusiasm. And now after BFA I again ran with my Alliance guildies on our Oceanic server of Aman'Thul - solid for about a week. Then slowly I faded away... sad days were here.

My first game addiction was Everquest.....I sympathize with your pain. It's kind of weird WoW still has okay graphics.....but the gameplay/story/lore/character-bond went to absolute shit. Which is the opposite of what started the dying of other mmorpgs.

It's the decline of the video game industry. We are experiencing the worst consumer confidence since the Crash of 1983. Bethesda, Activision, and EA made this happen. That's why the markets are down. These anti-consumer practices since the released of Battlefront 2 are affecting the market.

Come to Dark Age of Camelot! I used to play WoW but then i found this Phoenix Freeshard for DAoC that's completely free! Im not trying too advertise for them but it's probably the best PvP game there is right now in 2019... Honestly take a look at it!

I have played since wrath i can honestly say this is the first time i have wondered if it would be best to try and sell my account the account i sat on a week straight with an alarm on just to keep me awake to get Time lost, When i almost had a heart attack when my npc scan when off and i thought it was aeonaxx but it was that god dam bat. And some other rare mounts/items. Would it be worth it to attempt to just sell the account.

BC was my personal favorite. I liked the progression, getting keyed for heroic 5 man instances, crowd controlling...played that game hard and didnt care for raiding...but I did do a few Kara runs. Loved Shadowlabs, Shattered Halls, Mechanar....now its crap with mystic runs and it's all about time. Beat as fast as you can. It's not about taking your time with strategic moves and collaborating with your team. Now its...pull everything and run. LFG and LFR has got to go. If Blizzard makes the game hard again, fans may come back. As of now....see ya!!!

Dear Blizzard WoW isn't just a RPG game, it's a MMORPG, so make group quests, delete LFR, make everything 10 times harder, make a lot of stuff to be Vanilla Group stuff ( by that I mean you need multiple people to achieve something. Make at least 50% of the leveling to require groups bcuz either the quests requires it or the mob/mission is hard to do) raids and dungeons tactics shouldn't have just "official" tactics but make more types of tactics and make some hidden let's say buggy tactics for the bosses (I mean unusual ways of defeating the boss) and DON'T BE LIKE "OKAY YOU STAND THERE TO EVADE THE AOE AND OTHER GROUP BURST THE BOSS" (and that's it, thats the whole raid) that's just dumb and easy. Back in the days you had to work your brain and ass off and fingers to defeat the boss, now it's just spam 4 spells and a Burst macro and that's it. Make professions viable again example (You can gear yourself from professions like in Vanilla, TBC ) you need professions to defeat bosses, you need to do some kind of shit with professions to get to some place, and similar stuff like that. Make 40 man raids, maybe dungeons too. Make some interesting group events. Don't ditch every last expansion currency (artifact power for example), make older gear viable again not just for transmog (just like Swifty used that off hand for his fury Warrior that was way below his level) make gold hard to farm and increase it's value. Decrease the numbers so I won't be lost in millions. Make more one shot shennanigans like in Vanilla and increase the importancy of the other spells and add some interesting spells not the same spell just changed the look and animation (interesting spells like curse of the elements, curse of tongues and stuff like that)Make potions viable again. make PvE RNG, NOT straightforward. Man I'm tired from this much writing. I hope you read this guys and paste it everywhere.

I know it's a trend now of being negative about sh**, some is sincere, sometimes I get the feeling that it is something that "sells" videos. I am still playing, and for sure it ain't perfect, but take assaults, that stuff has made open world pvp very active. They're also quite fun tbh. Not everything is negative about BfA.

Blizzard Stock was $83 in October, it dropped down to $43 in December, but that's what happens when a company takes their 2 greatest IPs, turns one into a mobile game, and then ridicules it's fanbase "do you guys not have phones" and then releases a half assed unfinished expansion for another....
