Hi, I have used this several times since making the video and it works well - so long as the chopping blade is properly seated (it's a tight fit)

The best place to keep the auger, cutter and plates is submerged in a container of cooking oil.

What is the function of reverse meat grinder?

It can be used if something gets stuck in the augur / screw part of the feed. If there is nothing coming thru the mincer, the hopper is full & downward pressure does not force anything through, then try the reversing action to try to clear the blockage. If this doesn't work, then the mincer has to be dis-assembled to clear the blockage.

It looks very plasticky, but the bits that matter are robust (the grinder & motor). We got our moneys-worth out of it in sausage making, but haven't used it in a while.

I guess you have to de bone the meat in any mincer to maintain its quality, clean the meat properly, boneless, fat less and should be in small pieces.
