The 200 beta is a fantastic bike, more than enough for most riders. As someone that observes a lot the number of people I see that are “over biked” never ceases to amaze me

I've got a TRS250. I had a go on my brother's Beta 200 and felt more comfortable on it after two minutes of riding.

The One R in the Uk has been modified to soften it; clutch plate, low compression head, inlet spacer…. Makes it way easier to ride.
@TrialsProgressionАй бұрын
Yes, the one R is much smoother in my experience as well

I've been following and enjoying your stuff since I started trials 3 years ago with the Neil Price membership thing. So we're almost on the same time line but I'm not as advanced with the fancy stuff. But - my bike timeline - Went from Beta 200 to Gas Gas 250 to TRS250RR to Beta Factory 250 - and I'm now back on a 2024 Beta 200! Standard, not even Factory. And I love it! Easy to get carried away with the bigger bikes and practicing rock steps but that wont help you in a trial at Clubman level as you rightly say. Over here in the UK they say they are 'the perfect Clubman bike' - Fantastic little bikes with plenty of everything, certainly more capable than I am, yet forgiving! I'll be watching with interest 👌

You are so right!👍 I could have saved some money and gone straight to the 200 but to each their own and you live n learn 🤷♂️ thanks for your support

It has been my experience that you can't go wrong with a Beta when it comes to "rideability". They really have a nack with making smooth power and ease of!use. Enjoy the new bike!

Hello Tom and well done! It's interesting to see a person who has evolved very well but who is able to constantly question himself. You don't have any blindfold on and that not only inspires you but makes you move forward and progress. Thank you for all your advice, your videos are very interesting to follow. The only small negative point... sometimes you speak very quickly (surely due to your excitement) and it's a bit hard to follow so you have to go back.. There you go, I'm teasing you a bit, I really enjoy following you from here to France... Personally I ride in Electric motion Factor-E, you can modulate the power with the application on the phone which "could" be interesting for you! Good luck, Kind regards.
@TrialsProgressionАй бұрын
Thank you. And good point. I will slow my rate of speaking some. I do get excited and I'm sure it's tricky especially if English is not your 1st language. I had an electric motion and enjoyed it. Great machines.

On the advice of a friend (with a lot of years of trials experience) I bought a used 2013 Beta EVO 200 a few years back. It was a fully-farkeled dealer's demo bike. For me, with no off-road or motocross experience it is the perfect bike.

I went down from a 300 to a 125 I bought from a 13 yo girl, lol. So fun actually using the clutch and getting used to revs. It’s got plenty of torque for the lower lines. You definitely need to wring its neck for bigger stuff though.
@TrialsProgressionАй бұрын
Haha yeah, that's awesome. And like you said - revving it up is fun.
@Beta200FАй бұрын
The 200 is the way to go. You’ll think less about the bike and more about what you’re doing or at least that’s been my experience. Plus it’s just smooth and easier to ride than what I started on.

Nice to see you riding Beta Evo 200 Factory. Such a great platform to learn MotoTrials. Interested to hear what you do to set up for your preferences. Personally suggest 10/42 or 10/43 final gearing, since 11/42 stock gearing seemed a bit tall for me. Hope to see good results from my friends competing at NATC Nationals this weekend in FL! 🙏😊👍
@TrialsProgressionАй бұрын
Yep I went to 11:44 on the gearing and I'll get into some more details in the next video. 👍

@@TrialsProgression So far the only mechanical mod I've made is to install Dan William's fancy machined clutch lightening washers. Gearing seems OK, but maybe +2 on the back would be even better.

200's are great - I’m currently having a ball riding a Vertigo 200. I moved down from an Ossa 280 to a Beta 125 but found I needed too many balls in the air to be comfortable on it. The V200 is (almost) perfect for me, shame they dropped it for the 225 which I found horrid when I rode one

The 125s are a different beast for sure - happy you found the right one in the Vertigo 200. The V 200 I rode was brilliant 👌as well

@rocketpacАй бұрын
Off-camber turns and steep descents have really hurt my points this season - I've made many stupid small turning mistakes that cost me when I made it over the larger obstacles pretty consistently. I practice turning drills in my flat yard and over a log, but when I'm at the trials comp, things are different. I'm likely confronted with an off-camber tight turn to a steep loose, uphill, to a 2' log, and that equals a 5 😞.
@TrialsProgressionАй бұрын
So, so true! Hard to practice the cambers if you don't have them nearby. That combo of turn / traction and obstacle/ turn is also my nemesis.

I jsut sold my GasGas 280 2015, and was thinking more on 4T montesa 260. Wondering if you have any thoughts on 4T vs Beta 200cc (Beta has 300 4T, would be great to review).
@TrialsProgressionАй бұрын
I've only ridden a 4-stroke trials bike a couple of times for 5 or 10 minutes each. Crazy traction on hills, but didn't play enough to really have an opinion. Maybe someday I'll get to review one. I've always liked 2 strokes
@sakkekvist2495Ай бұрын
When there is a lack of skill in using the controls (clutch, brake, etc.), a smaller engine makes riding easier. A larger engine responds more quickly, making the riding experience 'jerky' Also, when riding is easier, it doesn’t force you to learn to use the controls well
@TrialsProgressionАй бұрын
Great points 👌
@TrialsGuy666Ай бұрын
Great move to a Beta (Bee-ta 🤩) but Factory model 200 is like a regular 250…. Also, if you rode the route above Clubman, you’d be using all the cool skills, which you obviously have. Why go back, when you could have gone up? Everyone wants progression. (🤓) right?
