I purchased a new '23 Beta Xtrainer for my wife and one of my daughters to share plus have it be a buddy/back-up bike for friends without bikes to ride. At the same time I picked up a '23 XCW for myself. Riding all types of terrain around OR. WA. and ID., these two bikes being built for slightly different purposes, they're both very fun to ride. I have to say that the Xtrainer is built to be so nimble and light it's really fun and an easy to manage 300 in the woods for less experienced/casual riders. My '23 KTM (side by side with the Beta) is built so much better and I had to pay for that for sure. I was really wanting to wait for the '24's (TBI) but had an event to attend and needed to pull the trigger. With all that said, after all of the protection parts I bought and the time it took me to install them all, when the '24 XCW HARDENDURO became available to order, I sold my '23 and purchased the '24 HARDENDURO. This bike is AMAZING! The changes from '23 to '24 are absolutely rider inspiring. The new stock front fork is magical and sends confidence straight to your brain. The TBI?!?!? You just think throttle and it's there. I still have to work as much as possible (to pay for the bikes etc.😉) and don't like to spend time on the bikes accept maintenance. I'd rather spend my time riding. So out of the box the HARDENDURO was a no brainer for me and they hold their value better than any other similar bike. I've had zero issues with both KTM's but did have an issue with the Beta literally before it was even fully broken in. Parts took forever to get and the bike was in the shop for a couple months, waiting. Beta did cover it all since it was defective so good on them for that. I just feel lucky to be able to ride and ride such cool little machines. Thanks for the intuitive perspective here in this video.

Wow that’s some great feedback! I agree with you on the 24 xcw. It’s a dramatic change and the forks are fantastic out of the box. I have a love/like relationship with my beta but when we are on, it’s passionate 😀. The new xcw is the benchmark and needs nothing for single track. But, the beta wants to go faster and is so much fun with the power and chassis. With my suspension setup, I love the bike! Thanks for watching and commenting!

I just picked up a 2024 300 race edition. Haven’t even rode it yet! Beta’s demo days sold me on it. I love the kyb suspension on it. Thanks for sharing your experience with it.

Great video as usual. Love my Betas. Always had Huskys and KTMs which are great, but there is definitely something different in a good way about the Betas. Power delivery on them is so incredibly useable.

Wow…I hit the jackpot here…! I’ve honestly been pretty discouraged with my ‘24 RE as I’ve been chasing the fouled plug gremlin around. It’s back in the shop now under warranty still for a broken throttle cable. (Me pinning it too much trying to make it home with the Beta bog but still running fouled plug thing going on…lol.) The bike runs so absolutely incredible when it’s running proper that I need to just embrace frequent plug swaps. JD jet kit installed running Idaho mountains with big elevation changes and it is what is. Lol…I chose Beta to be different from the hordes of Orange up here. I’ve often kicked myself in dealing with these issues, but for what I get in return, you’ve made me understand it’s worth it. It’s the greatest dirtbike I’ve ever thrown my leg over. Cheers from Idaho. I’ve sub’d and am gonna dig into your past content for some more good info. You mentioned a coil issue.?? We need a solution. lol…🍻🏁

We sound like we’ve had a similar journey. Try that different plug and dump the oem iridium plugs. The bike is great, regardless of what your homogeneous dirtbike loving KTM friends tell you! (Full disclosure, I have a KTM also 🎃). Thanks for watching and commenting! Let us know how how it goes!

@@Weekendwarriorsmoto Great. Dumping the iridium plugs then for sure. Ordering the new ones now and will give you feedback for sure. Hate to say it but It’s so good to hear someone having the same issues. Lol….and also the same experience on the bike. The way it pulls through the lows is pure joy. Hill climbs, slow technical stuff, just the way it hooks up because of that lugging torque. It’s just so good for what I ride up here as well. Just wish I could feel good about a sticker on my truck. Hahaha. Maybe just the B. lol.

The Beta is one the verge of greatness. It shows you it can be an Italian Stallion then turns and shows you its meatball side! C’mon Beta engineers. Stop complicating things.

@@Weekendwarriorsmotopoor Beta engineers! They put in an honest 3 hour work day (includes multiple espresso and wine breaks), only to have some silly American put a screwdriver to it. They’d slap your hands if they knew you were messing with their fine Italian machine 😂

With my 24, I put the needle clip in the second position which is what the jetting specs call for in my location and temp. The bike came with it in the 3rd notch tho. I’ve fouled 2 plugs in 30 hours, both times were me experimenting with jetting and a BR7 plug.

Thanks for the info. My jetting is spot on now but still had a set of the iridium plugs go bad. I’ve moved to the conventional plug that I referenced in the video. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Good review but one thing I did not hear you mention and it's a reason I chose the Beta over ktm is warranty and customer service. Curious what ratio premix are you running?
@Weekendwarriorsmoto
@Weekendwarriorsmoto 18 күн бұрын
That’s a good point. I haven’t had to test the warranty, other than a pin was broken off of my airbox cover when I received the bike. It took a couple weeks to get a new cover from beta, but they provided it at no cost and without hassle. When I asked Beta USA About the spark plugs, they were responsive and the factory answered in a day, so that was good. A comparison to KTM, when Jon’s start/stop switch went bad, KTM refused to replace it, but the dealer picked up the cost for it. Not really a great outcome for a known problem. Pre-Mix is motul 800 at 50:1. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Check out our comparison video (300 xcw vs 300 rr re). Jon and me swap bikes and discuss the differences. We plan on doing some more. The tbi is much improved over the tpi. The Beta is still the torque champ but the tbi feels closer to a carb. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Well the good news is that we ride every weekend so let us know what you’d like to see compared and we’ll put a video together! For 2024s, Jon has the xcw tbi, Scott has the te300 tbi, Josh has a te250 tbi so we have some bases covered. No other betas in the group, sadly. Mama always said I was special 😀

@@Weekendwarriorsmoto those are the ones I’m looking at. Well - the regular RR version anyway. The Race models are sold out most everywhere. I found a smoking deal on a 300 RR and a 24 TE 250. I’ve never owned a 250 2-stroke, only 300’s. I’m a heavy guy so I tend to appreciate the torque the 300 offers. Like you I’m thinking of trying something different. I’ve had all 3 Austrian brands and I really like them. But I like the idea of something different as well. KTM/Husky vs Beta RR/ZF vs RE KYB 250/300 I’m in total overthinking mode.
@Weekendwarriorsmoto
@Weekendwarriorsmoto 25 күн бұрын
I get it. FOBO. Fear of better options. From my experience, go with the 300. The 250 feels lighter and quicker but the 300 is more luggable and power delivery is better for the technical single track. For long and gnarly hill climbs, you’ll appreciate the 300 motor. (This is my opinion only and I’m sure I others may debate that)

I have a 23 250 race edition. Aside from protection shes stock and its amazing on single track. The suspension does beat me up on super rocky sections but everything else performs perfect. I also haven't done anything but change it 2 clicks. Where in pa are you? Im in not far from pa in NY would love to hit some of those trails!

I felt the same about my 300 with stock suspension. The faster I went, the better it felt. With the revalved suspension, it’s awesome though, especially in the rocks. We live in the Pittsburgh area but Mountain Ridge ATV park is 1.5 hours east of us so probably closer to you than Pittsburgh. When you ready, let us know so you can join us. Thanks for watching!

But you don’t have to go into your tank to fix a KTM. That sucks ass. That’s a tow out. Plus you can also try riding a new zf fork too. I’m riding a 200 zf fork and I got a tricked out beta suspension on my 23 300 race edition too. Really once the suspension is set up is it’s almost the same.. almost. Both are really good.

This video was a summary of a 3 hour ride and was meant to be a 50 hour review, not a test. It may have seemed flat because the cameras don’t show elevation. Pennsylvania is far from flat Check out our other videos. (The mountain ridge “c” trail videos may show elevation a little better. Thanks for watching!
