Awesome flying and testing, Dave! 😃 Thanks a bunch! Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

This is the v1 antenna then? There was apparently some major flaw that killed the range. Now there is a V1.1 of the flat antenna which was tested on the Channel SkyPilot, went over 1km with 98-100lq.
@andrebalsa203 Жыл бұрын
No, it's the v1.1 version without the flaw.

No lq in your OSD? Looks like you left RSSI assigned to a channel instead of using telemetry...

I wonder if dangling the Rx out the front or back in a TPU mount like we do with GPS modules would help. In theory at least, it seems like that would have a potentially large positive effect. Inside the carbon cage itself, surrounded by noisy electronics is basically worst case scenario.
@DaveCFPV2 жыл бұрын
In that case I think its easier to just use the ones with a separate 2.4G antenna
@abertheham2 жыл бұрын
@@DaveCFPV probably. Durability might be better with a little nub that holds just that tiny Rx though. Regardless, thanks for your video - perfectly timed for me, as I’ve got ELRS stuff arriving this week and was wondering about this exact scenario…

So the mw power controls the elrs or whatever reciever you use and not the vtx power?

the range is 600m

Could anyone help me to bind my frsky taranis with this receiver. I tried hundred time but i couldn’t bind it. Plz i need help

So the antenna is just a heat sink/ dissipates energy because that's what i get when my antenna falls off the receiver

I've finally got all my fleet all with tbs cross fire, even a 3inch and have never had a failsafe. I just don't see anything matching tbs still, they are the shizl. Good review though👍

Good man. I appreciate what ELRS is trying to do but its really not needed. There is no way ill be switching anytime soon.

Is this the fixed version? The performance seems to be from the old one. Edit: I zoomed to the video it says version 1.1. This is clearly the new one.
@manwithgutz2 жыл бұрын
the old one only.do 100m this is the new version that does 600m
@sendorm2 жыл бұрын
@@manwithgutz Well I didn't think that number was with 1W, which most elrs users don't have. More like 250m with the new one. Also now I wonder if that 100m figure with the old was with 1W too. Than it is more like 50 meters which is ridiculous. Just bare ep1 without antenna connected should get you that lol.

How can I tell if I got an older version or new? Have one of these but I'm not sure.
@sendorm2 жыл бұрын
@@valden Check the back of the receiver if it says 1.0 it is the old one, 1.1 is the new one. 1.0 will failsafe at around 100m, while the 1.1 failsafes around 600m. Which tx power betafpv does not state, but from this video it seems at 1W TX power. This is what betafpv states: "For customers who bought this receiver before March 2022 and have issues with it, we will refund you or send you a new one that fixes range issues." Contact them if you have 1.0.

Thanks for that. I reached out to see if they'd replace it but if not I'll just use it for a whoop👍

This receiver with a flat antenna v1.1 is perfect for a small < 50g whoop that you are going to fly around the house, it's not really designed for anything LR or hundreds of meters of range. If you want LR there are a number of new ELRS receivers that will do more range than most quads can fly out.

I downloaded edgetx on my taranis qx7 would the elrs module still be compatible?

I have a problem, my range is so bad with it. 400 meters and failsafe. A new reciever and antenna are helping nothing ( other reciever placement too). I flasht both new? My lq is most of the time high but the rssidb is so low i have after 300meters -90 at 50 mw ???? Can someone help me

It's not a no-brainer for any type build, because my biggest complaint about the crossfire nano is that the solder pads are too tiny to solder. Making them half that size or less makes it a no-buyer.... if you can't solder it, you can't use it, and if you can't use it, it's not useful.
