You can definitely tell the remake has a far more cinematic feel to it especially at the beginning. I think the new music really encapsulates the feeling of everyone rallying to your aid.

I like the fact that Beldam appears to be yelling for the voices to silence (at least that’s how I interpret it) instead of just looking around like in the original. Also the song during the cutscene got a banger upgrade with the new instrumentation in my opinion

It makes the original seem kinda lame in comparison, especially when a good number of the scenes only had around 4-5 characters at max. I STILL personally wish that during the Keelhaul Key scene, Cortez was cheering you on too.

@@Betabrawler I did this all last night and the whole final battle sent chills down my spine. The shadow queen was even scarier than when I was eleven and I’m thirty one now. On top of that, I teared up a little with the detail of more characters cheering Mario and company on. This whole game has been great and if it doesn’t get game of the year, we riot!

Something else is there’s a delay with peach and shadow queen’s arms being raised, almost like for a split second, peach was the one in control over the shadow queen, even smiling before being forced away. That’s some next level details

There are very few things in games that make me emotional, this is one of them. When the music kicks in man it's so good I love how everyone cheers you on to kill this evil shadow bitch, it's awesome. The new ost and animations (especially character animations) makes the moment even more powerful then it already was :D

I absolutely love this scene so much! Seeing all of the NPCs you met come together to give Mario support. One thing I love in the remake is that even more NPCs show up, including the citizens of Rogueport.

The Switch version is much more impactful because more characters are throwing support Mario's way, even characters in ROUGEPORT show up. The only fully consistent scene in Chapter 2, but, Chapter 7's actually has all the same NPCs from the GC Version, just in a different formation. That's how you'd realize things are dire when even Crayzee Dayzees, Hyper Goombas and Thwomp Statues are cheering you on. But, biggest miss was Cortez in Rougeport not showing up or saying ANYTHING. I don't know if Ms. Mowz would show up in the Switch version of the Rougeport Scene if you don't recruit her. She probably would since Ms. Mowz literally doesn't move the story along. Also, the updated music is amazing, it really emphasizes the dire situation the world faces.

The Thousand-Year Door remake has to be an example of an amazing remake that pretty much replaces the original from a general and casual stand point. (also seeing how much bigger the crowds are in the remake compared to the original is honestly kinda surprising, since the whole vibe of "everyone is rooting for you" kinda gets diminished a bit when you notice how there aren't as many side-characters and NPCs as there probably should considering how big of an event this is in the world of Paper Mario, so I'm glad to see that a lot more people are present in the remake)
