Here's a tip for the green Yoshi, ignore getting the egg for a while and before you fight the twins get the egg and then fight them as usual. Guaranteed green Yoshi.

Thanks for the tip! Mario with a green Yoshi just seems more… right to me than the other colors. I remember one time when playing the original I got blue… it bothered me just a little bit.

Makes sense the time frames are so tight for Black and White Yoshi, since those colors were always the "secret" colors for the Yoshis in the games.

I think for my first playthrough, I’ll get the green Yoshi. But for the second playthrough, I’m going for the black one; black is one of my all-time favorite colors

The even easier time is to just save right before fighting the adonis twins and then go into the fight and run immediately to see what color you got. Then you can just adjust timewise from there in the 20 minute interval by waiting in the adonis fight.

@@alijenkins166 Good luck. I can confirm that my method works since I used it to get my red yoshi. I got lucky and only had to do the wait once since it happened to be on the high end of the range for it's starting color meaning the first increment I used was enough to catch the color change.

If you lost to the Iron guys before getting the egg, I gotch'u. It still works: After losing the fight, save. The egg timer will still start when you get the egg, and end when you go into the locker room to schedule your rematch. I do have one note that still needs tested tho. I dont know if the timer ends when you enter the locker room and the egg goes on the bench, or if it ends when you talk to Grubba for your rematch on the monitor. The time difference between those can be as little as 15 seconds if youre mashing theough dialogue. So it doesnt totally matter. The only tight time window is the white yoshi. But its still a full minute. Just use a stopwatch and enter at the start of the minute.

"The timer starts the moment the egg joins your party" That's good to hear, no need to rush to this chapter, we just take our time until then, when we reach it is when we need to time it right to get the color we want.

I've never experienced this game before, but all the hype and 10's from reviewers makes me want to try it out for sure! I'm hoping the price drops to around 40 bucks after a few months so I can pick it up

I can tell you that it's not gonna get a price drop unfortunately. Nintendo games never get price drops and very rarely go on sale. If you want it, no sense delaying it. It's definitely a fantastic game.

@@Prodigial If you're buying straight from Nintendo, I'd agree with you on Nintendo staying firm on 60$. But for example, Super Mario RPG which came out last November has already dropped to around 42$ from Walmart, so I'm hoping for something similar with this game

@@Prodigialthese are the comments that weird me out. They go on sale more frequently than people give them credit for (they start about 6 months after). It's Pokémon that never goes on sale. But more over, second hand copies can be found as early as 2 weeks. Or just shop around. A lot of retailers try to compete for a cheaper price so you should find a copy at a reasonable price. I got mine for £35 at launch which works out about $42.

My favs in order 1. Red Yoshi 2. Black Yoshi 3. Green Yoshi 4. Blue Yoshi 5. Orange Yoshi 6. White Yoshi 7. Pink Yoshi I got the Pink Yoshi originally and was so disappointed I reset and redid 20 minutes of the game to get the Red Yoshi and I love it!

I accientally got white yoshi on just my first regular playthrough but I know I definitally didnt get to the twins within 20 minutes so it mustve been really lucky that I got white yoshi without looking at a timer. I didnt even know the yoshi's color was even based on a timer so this makes it even more crazy to me!

fun fact: if you skip the into chapter 4 via glitch in the gamecube version, when you get to doopliss mario, the yoshi will always be green. since you didn't ever get the egg from hoggle, the game never starts the yoshi timer

I got the orange yoshi on my first time playing the gamecube original years ago. I got the green on another playthrough. I might shoot for blue, red, or black when I play the remake. Something about the white yoshi rubs me the wrong way though. That little gold curl on his head makes me think: "He's a snob", even though he's not.

Yes you can, I just tried that got all the way to the twins got the egg started, the timer sat in the fight then ran when I was at the time I wanted got my yoshi color.

Their hair style matters to me as well, not just their colours. I like green, red, and black yoshi. Blue is a cool colour, but I don't like his pink hair and pants. White has a weird hairstyle. Pink and orange are...pink and orange...
