I was literally searching for hours last night for a betaflight compass calibration , and this morning in my feed is your video. Much more complicated than i anticipated.

This is becoming a lot more complicated than i first thought 6:43 And I'm only 6 min in lol, i his come back later! Thanks!

You might want to recommend INAV 8.0 RC. The Alignment tool has been updated with default orientation presets for a variety of the more common GPS/compass modules.

Indeed this is very helpful especially for me who has the problem with magnetometer as I mentioned on your previous video. Thanks sir.

Great! Thats exactly what we needed. Thanks and wish you all great year.

The CW270 flip is the standard for many GPSs, but it is always good to double-check because many GPSs show an arrow that you might think is the correct orientation but actually means nothing.

thank you I solved the problem of DRONE with a problem with home points.

Hold up! Is BF 4.6 Out?? Man I'm slacking lol. Thanks for this video! I've never used the compass because it always seemed to throw off my gps. Maybe I'll finish this video now and learn how to calibrate it lol! Position hold on an fpv drone would be awesome if you could trust it. Thanks Mark!

My gps is 0deg flip and camera angle is 20 deg.. what do i have to set the custom roll or pitch or yaw to?

amazing video! Question: Will toilet bowling occur without setting magnetic declination?
@uavtechКүн бұрын
it will depend on outside influences and how fast you are moving when triggereimg POS Hold. This said, generally no, not really.
@Mupshot2 күн бұрын
Does pos hold in beta light 4.6 hold it where it stops, or where you flipped the switch? If I hit the switch at 90kph, will it slam on the brakes and back pedal, or stop and hold?
@uavtech2 күн бұрын
where it stops. That is the developers proudest part.
@MupshotКүн бұрын
@@uavtech agreed, thats pretty cool to have that level of logic. otherwise, I could see the quad doing several rounds of correction to try to get back to the spot where the switch was activated.

Would anybody know why the magnetometer would jump around or snap when rolling the craft to a complete 90 degrees, it changes about 10 degrees towards east and or west when facing to north, even though the reading is SPOT ON doesn't move any other time?

What about the ist8310 mag. The y axis is reversed from normal. Its annoying. Some geprc gps has it and other's. I think 4.6 supports it now. In 4.5 i had to use negative values to align correctly.
@uavtechКүн бұрын
correct and it does. same proceedure. :-)

In my Drone 5" I put GPS/Mag in Rear mount, as most mounted GPS go, using INAV 7.1 and calibrate in/outside house still Mag go wrong, I gave up and Disable Mag. Battery / AU antenna / motors close to it I guess doesn't help, not like bigger drone.

Great video again Mark!! Some useful additions: the compass dance is best to do like this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4WViKV-lrGrqJYsi=dW6Ug2Nvvkhg83RS (min 4) so you have each axis in max positive and negative (what is the idea of the calibration). And to show how sensitive a magnetometer is and how you need to keep it away from electronics: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqqnfKCKetGlatEsi=atLqMa8Em5pmCt8X
