Beth is the biggest badass ever. Single greatest vocalist in my opinion. I've seen her 5 times and the vibe now a days is different. She is way more blues and not as much rock. But every performance is just ridiculous. Check out her newest live album Live at Royal Albert Hall. If possible the voice is ever better now.

Beth toured the states last year. Wife and I saw her in Charlotte NC. She still knocks it out of the park with her performances (she sounds better live than on record - just like Chris Stapleton). You owe it to yourself to watch the whole Paradiso show from Holland in 2005. She was so appreciative of the audience because this was her first tour after the rehab and psych ward stints. Originally the band was booked into a smaller room but due to fans ticket demand they moved the concert into the larger music hall. The thing about this performance is that Beth was clean at the time but her meds weren't dialed in for the bi-polar so her performance has that manic feel to it throughout. Her performances these days are fantastic but the manic energy is no longer there (for better or worse). In my opinion the next song you should review is Caught Out in the Rain (Live at the Royal Albert Hall) Her performance at 5:13 is jaw dropping

Jessie Voisin I don’t agree with the mania part. As a sober alcoholic, I can tell you the first couple years, we get a glow to us. We are happy to be anywhere. To me, now she has toned down her rawness, but her voice has also changed. The timber and tone is completely different. I like her recording pre 2013. Check out A Change is going to Come. Live at the Echoplex. I saw her in California several years ago..frankly, I was disappointed. The sound was terrible. Jon Nichols was barely audible. He is a kickass guitarist.
@gloriaburns36064 жыл бұрын
Laura DeMarrais Beth Hart was actually diagnosed "Bipolar" so she probably was "Manic" at the time of this performance...for the record...I'm bipolar...I'm not saying that makes me an expert on the subject or the diagnosis...But I have been there...I know the looks and the body movement lol...I have a lot in common with Beth...I am also a recovering addict...as for her "Sounding terrible" ...it's all about "Perception" ...What you think is terrible? I may think is amazing...I can't see (hear) Beth singing badly or terrible...but...it may have been a bad night....bad sound quality??...maybe the sound guy was having issues??...ijs...Beth is amazing...have a great night

I saw this video for the first time just today. Really I can't decide what the two of you thought of her. Your facile expressions during the video, I thought you were not please. Then at the end, you really didn't say much. MO! Those of us that have never dealt with addiction have no idea what this lady has gone through, those of you that have dealt with it already know. Fame hit her fast and hard, managers and record companies just used her up (like they do to everyone else). She found her way back to sobriety and has saved her own life one day at a time. If you just listen to her music, and ignore her awkward, scared to death ways on stage (she even tells you how scared she is). Her music is incredible!!! Every Blues Singer & performer, knows how she is! That's why she sings from her soul, not just the words on the page. She's already been through hell an survived.

She is a force on her one, she sits in the concert hall without any form of monitoring in her ears or on stage, gets the final product from the stage, and the concert hall, and yet such a control, grating, vibration, the range is of high class. The reason for the talkative intro was this was her rebound concert. She has the worst case of bipolar disorder and was "self-medicating." She got fired from her label because of drug abuse and sometime later had a mental breakdown in 2003. When she got out in the mental hospital, she thought her career was over. She sent out some feelers for venues to play in, and Paradiso, Amsterdam (where this concert takes place) offered her a chance to sing at the bar. The issue, though, was the venue oversold the tickets by several factors, and the concert was moved to the main venue. This concert was an original version of a movie rebound event, and she knew it, which is why there is video production done.
@corneliusantonius31084 жыл бұрын
She was 4 motnths clean here, she was giddy because the ticketsales were so good they head to move to a bigger venue.
