My opinion, Bethesda flew to close to the sun. What I mean is after the success of Skyrim they thought the fans would buy anything with a Bethesda logo. They think that after all these years that we will go into a buying frenzy if it ever drops. While I imagine most gamers will bend over and take it, im not going to buy ES6 or any other Bethesda games. I didn't buy 76 or Starfield, im done with thier slop.

@GoatedSynro Don't get me wrong, I hope it does well and I wish them the best but I was a junior in high school when Skyrim dropped. I've started a career, got married and had kid's. So much time has passed that my oldest will probably be in middle school before we get any real info on ES6. For me its unacceptable and I won't support them, I don't want to be negative but ES6 will be outdated on arrival because it's taking to long. I use the example of they are leaving it in the oven way to long, now it's burnt.

Jokes aside, this is actually sad. We got GTA V and we're gonna GTA VI before we get ES 6, very likely before even an ES 6 trailer. The time span between the ES 6 teaser and today is already bigger than the span between GTA IV to GTA V, not to mention the gap between Oblivion and Skyrim.

We are now as far away from the announcement trailer as the announcement trailer was from Skyrim's launch. If ES:VI came out in 2018, Bethesda would be getting ready to release a next-gen update. Kids born the same day as the announcement trailer are now in the 1st grade.

I played every Elder Scrolls game as they were released. The Elder Scrolls Arena came out the year I married my husband. I often wonder if the Elder Scrolls 6 will be released before I hit 70 and lose enough of my reflexes to be unable to play it.

Its not a trailer. Its a teaser. Two very very different things. The point of the teaser was more so to say "Hey, we are working on this, if you are a game developer, designer, artist, voice actor, anything, come and join our team". But still released way too early, and definitely a big cash increase to their microsoft buyout

I disagree straight off the bat. Their reputational damage has been caused by Fallout 76 and then Starfield. If they had given us Fallout 5 rather than 76, and Starfield had been a chef's kiss of a game rather than the usual buggy mess they're renowned for people would be more patient of TES6. And frankly why is everyone so obsessed with TES6 given Bethesda's reputation for releasing broken games? And even if it does get released its out-the-box graphics are going to be distinctly last - well actually no, several generations behind games. You go do yourself a favour and look at what released day Skyrim LE looked like then compare it to its peers in 2011. It looked like a game from the mid-2000s.

Copium and hopium, people love to think that skyrim is the baseline for what the elder scrolls should and now so does bethesda which is a major disappointment and a touch of common sense shows that there's gonna a be a major sense the elder scrolls will be as shit as starfield maybe even more due to the hype, I have about 20hrs in starfield when I put it down and said yup this enough for me.

Agreed with you there. Bethesda changed their business model to become a Microsoft cash cow, which is ultimately backfiring. The time span between releases is increasing, while game quality is severely dropping. They had their bugs and the game itself didn't look too great, but it was ultimately a fun and immersive experience, for the time. By today's standards, I sincerely doubt they'll top a 10-year old The Witcher 3 at this point, it'll be ambarassing, which is why I believe they're postponing and avoiding more info on it.

As of recent games it's not looking good. Even Skyrim was stripped down from previous games. As long as one studio handles multiple franchises in Fallout, Elder Scrolls, and now Starfield/new titles most fans will be disappointed since the time between installments will be longer and longer. It's just a damn shame we haven't gotten anything tangible from the mainline Elder Scrolls series in 12 years. Time to move on I guess. No point in keeping hope for games that don't respect me. Same with Halo and plenty of other games from my childhood.

Emil is a writer who should be kicked out asap, writers for RPG's should be like the guy who's writing 'The Blood of Dawnwalker' from Rebel Wolves, this guy was super exited to give players OPTIONS and choices, you could even hear it in the video how exited and motivated he was about being able to write these things, meanwhile Emil doesn't want to give people neither, he wants everything on rails like a books otherwise we 'break his toys' ....

blame Xbox for Starfield..., they cut Todds vision of Starfield down to fit the Series S RAM limitations.., the forced Todd to scrap the already built PS5 version, they lied to him about multiplat + they enforced DEI checkboxes into Starfield.., no suprise Todd & crew lost their passion for Starfield.. ... Todd than instead turned his passion to the Fallout TV show & Indiana Jones game.. ... still Todd & co. need to fully salvage & fix Starfield.., it still has lots of potential, if they can regain their passion for it (& cut the forced DEI BS..)

Doubt it. Starfield and 76 faced major backlash upon release and starfield reviews on steam still has it at mixed. 76 had the whole launch situation, the pre-order situation, the nuka dark situation, and a whole lot of other shit im forgetting. They show no desire to majorly overhaul their engine to work in parity with other open world games (no loading screens) as seen with starfield and it's abundance of loading screens and menus. Their inability to take criticism also doesn't help. The studio needs restructuring at the top. One things for sure Emil pagliarulo has to go

As long as Emil Pagliarulo is in charge of writing, ES6 is just going to be more Yes/No/Not right now 'role playing" ala Fallout 4. Starfield was a clean slate, a fresh ip with nothing holding them back from creativity....and they just did the same shit. The gaming industry took a turn for the worse in these past few years. It's really weird that a 10-year old Witcher 3 is a better overall game - visuals, gameplay, story, performance - than most recently released games. As far as Bethesda's concerned, if there's something they did right since Skyrim's release was to prepare the fans for the inevitability of ES 6 being a terrible ugly buggy mess. The studio's old talent is gone, their lost their momentum and shred their reputation to pieces with the recent failures and sketchy practices.

I think the delay was probably extended by the public reception of 76 and of Starfield. They know this game can't underdeliver or they're finished. And I don't have any faith left that it won't underdeliver. As much as I adore Skyrim, I recognize it was very much lightning in a bottle. Remember when some game devs complained that BG3 set fan standards too high? I feel like Bethesda did that to themselves with the success and mass appeal of Skyrim, but in their case, it seems more luck and lack of competition than actual talent that won the day. They haven't managed a great game since. In fact, the games seem to just get worse and worse... Fallout 4 was at least a passable post-apocalyptic shooter with RPG elements. Especially if you love settlement building! 76 might be considered an okay game now, but it was an absolute disaster at launch. Starfield? Even mods can't fix it. 🫠 Maybe they'll be the seemingly one and only company that paid attention in 2024, they'll get their act together, and TES VI will be up there with TW3 or BG3. But I've no hope left for them after Starfield, and Emil's relentlessly self destructive statements. tl;dr great video, I pretty much agree with everything, I'm not expecting a great TES VI
