I saw Juan Gabriel twice during his peak. Once in Laredo and then in San Antonio, Texas. It was impossible to sit in your chair and just be a spectator. You unknowingly found yourself standing, dancing and singing along with this absolutely unique artist. Since the late 60's Iv'e seen many artists in person including, Jimmy Hendrix, The Eagles, Earth Wind and Fire, Chicago, The Temptations Luis Miguel and many, many more. Only one artist came close to the talent, energy, performance and show that Juan Gabriel presented and that was SELENA!

Something interesting to note is that at the end he says, pretty emotionally, "hold me", "hold me", "but above all, hold youselves". But the thing is that the first "hold me" is in singular and the second one is in plural. So first he asks one person to hold him. Whoever that is. Then it's like "everybody, you guys, hold me". But both phrases are translated as "hold me" in English. Gosh, I love language.
