Something about Juan Gabriel is that although being an amazing singer he also is a performer not in the choreograph dancer type of performer but very comfortable in his skin. He LOVED the dramatics. Which translated into his music. Which is why a lot of songs are sung very dramatically and tell an emotional story. Also it’s why he was very comfortable performing and creating a connection with his audience. He LOVED to tell a story.

He has melody. It's the most overlooked quality in music yet the rarest. Melody.
@albert0F Жыл бұрын
I always say this. Juan Gabriel sang about 1000 times in buses and in the metro, in the streets, and some othe 1000 dive bars by the time he was 15, the rest of his music career he already owned any stage. He had whatever volume needed to sing, the tone, the vibrato, or the cry, he had done it all millions of times before. He was ready for whatever.
@rockoorbe20022 жыл бұрын
Juan Gabriel was our Elton John. Think about it. Two short chubby middle aged gay guys with excellent voices and even better songwriting skills with a flair for exotic costumes. Too bad we never got to see these two music geniuses do a collabo but at least there was mutual respect and admiration among them.

I had the pleasure of working security at his very last concert in 2016 at the Forum in Los Angeles. He seemed very happy and put on a great show in front of his adoring fans. At the end of his encore, I helped him walk down the semi-dark stairs at the rear of the stage. He thanked me for the help, and I told him that he put on a great show...2 days later he died of a heart attack....RIP Juan Gabriel

Cuba, 1998. Unforgettable journey, unforgettable music. Not in the least for a song that is emitted over the radio and that can be heard in public over and over again. When the song plays, people grab eachother and slow danse in the streets. A-ma-zing. Of course I talk about "Así fué" With the help of locals, I write down the lyrics (Yes, I'm talking about the Digital Neolithicum times, even Paleolithicum on the island). At the end of my holidays I knew the song by heart and left with a counterfeit cassette version of his reknown live-performance in Bella's Artes. The whole package is gold quality - even after all those years. I'm not ashamed to say that - while watching your video - I simply couldn't hold the tears. You're absolutely right about the cracks: this "imperfection" makes it perfect. And let's not forget the impact of the musical accompaniment: especially the moment when the trumpets and chorus unite and go crescendo. Wooow... So emotional, lovely, tears keep flowing. Gracias Juan Gabriel, thank you, Beth.
