Pefect pitch has exactly zero to do with her singing ability. That's not what perfect pitch is. There are plenty of people with perfect pitch who can't sing for shit.

The problem is whenever I look at this audition video, I get super confused whether to hear or to look. Aida Nikolaychuk has a memorising voice and in equal parts she is ravishingly beautiful.

It was not autotune she has natural vibrato in her voice. She has a super voice. It is very rare even at the pro level. I saw this live and to this day I get chills seeing this audition. Very Rare.

*It's a rare case of residual delay and reverb wet that was present in the "negative".* People say there's an "effect" on her voice like a reverb or delay, but there isn't, it's in the mix. You see, when a negative is produced out of a track with vocals, depending on how good or how bad the vocal isolation is done, the rezulting negative track (the one without voice) can contain the wet parts of the vocal effects applied to the vocals in the original track - residual delay and reverb. Aida had the bad luck to sing over a negative that contains heavy residual vocal delay and reverb. Combine that with her pitch-perfect, frequency balanced and natural dynamically compressed voice which sits so perfectly in the mix, you'll get a final output in which her vocals match the residual delay and reverb of the negative track almost perfectly, making you believe that something is on her voice. It's the mix that contains the reverb and delay.

I discovered this singer years ago, loved the raw talent, watched several of her X-Factor Ukraine performances and newer ones. Also, after watching Aida while surfing the internet and You Tube I found Dimash Kudaibergen, among other foreign born singers, for whom I am eternally grateful.

I knew 2 kids in school with perfect pitch.... and neither did anything remotely musically oriented Which is kinda annoying cuz I can't carry a tune with a bucket but I compose on the harp, am learning the pipes, and have to use polyphonics, overtone, false folds, fry, and yodelling to construct the hollow illusion that I actually can sing (I have ASD so it's pretty common for me to be able to pick up the advanced skill before managing to even start with the fundamentals, this is true in my art, cooking, academics, animal husbandry, horticulture, really everything, im absolutely shit at everything unless you need some weird shit done lol

the main reason for the confusion was this song was a cover, and she sounds exactly like the original singer. Yes she has perfect pitch, and she sings in like 2 octaves(kinda) at the same time. I had a school teacher who did this, is amazing.

She didn,t even coaching in vocal .Actually thats impressive . No one cam make you fall for music without you . I thing vocal coaching is just west of time and Karaoke make vocal unconfident and bad.I hate vocal coach,rapper,singers and Karaoke . Who can sing naturally angelic music is just water for that person . I love to listening my own voice after recording on phone more than other popular singers .Raps are just pollution of music . I like only true sweet angelic classical vocalist . I sing from my heart from my 6 years old and didn,t take any vocal training .People say I sing every song far better than original artist autotuned karaoke songs only with my vocal.

I've listened to this particular video 100's of times trying to find the so called reverb on the mic. I can't. I can hear the music with it's added mix but all I can hear from this woman is her voice. Her song choice was perfect for her voice. Her natural ability blended so perfectly with the music that yeah it almost sounds like reverb was added. I will always know in my mind. I will not argue with nay sayers because they are entitled to their own opinion. Just understand she won. She went all the way. That's all that really matters.

Theres a few subtitled versions and yea...the 2 guys on the end actually were saying they thought she might be cheating/had a record playing and was lip syncing. They stopped her and asked her to sing any song and then the lady said THAT song again without music and as soon as she started the one guy said "well there it is". After they told her she sounded like a CD was playing she was so good. Side note....she had no formal training. Her friend pushed her into this. Double side note. She sang some English songs and despite being Ukranian you literally couldn't tell at all. Theres a reason she won the show that season.

The audition was indeed auto tuned. It was set up by the judges and they were a couple. 2 auto tune versions were created for the audition. One with music and one without. This explain why she did not sing with the same tone later in the audition.

There's no reverb in the mic. It's just how the background music sounds. That's why you don't hear it when the music is cut and she sings without it.
