Dance fever has to be one of the best albums made recently, Florence never disappointed with her vocals
@BethThereseReacts2 жыл бұрын
yes it is so good and the vocals are incredible!

Which says a lot because it's one of her least vocal albums. She has really been proving she can do " smaller songs " and not having to rely on her huge voice.

Morning Elvis somehow managed to make me cry with a sample of a crowd cheering. We spend an entire song hearing about Florence inner turmoil about even continuing to tour due to what seems like stress and depression. And she repeats in the chorus if she survives these feelings and makes it to the next show she'll "Show you what it means to be spared." And then after a bunch of lyrics that paint her in a dire state, looking a sweaty corpse on the bathroom floor, she finally ends on a triumphant note because she did in fact make it to the stage where a crowd is cheering for her.

As a huge FA+M fan and as someone who has struggled with mental health issues (and has been hospitalized because of it), “Free” left me reeling for days. It was so gut-wrenching. I was crying the whole time to the song. Florence Welch is a gift to us in terms of putting thoughts and feelings into words.

Your take on Free feeling like a stream of consciousness is very on point actually. I often describe my anxiety as my thoughts rushing. It's like your brain screams at you with no stopping about worry after worry, after worry. It can reach a point when I can't even think straight. Anxiety is such a b*tch.

I loved this whole album, but Florence never disappoints me. I find it sad that it seems a lot of people don't seem to understand this album. I feel like it's an album that will be far more appropriated the older the album gets.

it definitely took me a few listens to truly appreciate the genius artistry behind this album bc I didn't get all the meanings of everything right away :) also some of the songs had to grow on me. but now this is my favorite album by Florence and the machine, it's so wonderful

Sorry for the double comment but wow your reaction to King is literally ALMOST as iconic as the music video. Literally my reaction to King as well. This era’s music videos are all connected story-wise and directed by the same woman. (If you haven’t seen the King music video, you’re missing out like seriously tho)

I think this song has always been a big unknown, I've noticed that most influencers who have done track by track of this album are confused when listening to this song. That's my favorite sound on the album and I really feel bad that I don't quite understand what she's trying to tell us.

That " I met the devil " segment isn't Maggie, that's Florence. I think Maggie might do background vocals somewhere in the layering somewhere. I didn't know she was even in it but she's kind of masked in. But if you like Maggie and love Florence too they actually performed " Lights On " together and it's pretty great. Definitely watch it in your free time or react to it. :) I agreed with you on everything except for the Dream Girl lyrics and Cassandra. I looooove that mocking " Did mommy make you saaaad? " and " Projection of your mother, I am nobody's moral center " like, girl quit putting me on such a high pedestal to where I can only disappoint you? That's powerful and true. I genuinely at least LIKE every song that has been put out by Florence which I can't really say for anyone else including people I put on an equal pedestal of " I love your music this much " level. But there are definitely favorites and naturally songs have to go on the bottom and genuinely I even get the urge to listen to them sometimes because I still like them but the ones that do that the least for me are definitely " Kiss With A Fist " and in this album " Back in Town " Also you HAVE to watch the video for " Heaven is Here " it's more of a PERFORMANCE PIECE.
