Aaaaa, Dice Tower live plays are the best. Favorite thing on KZbin to watch.
@Grouik7 жыл бұрын
Dear Dice Tower, unless I am mistaken the Dragon should have played 1 turn later. You have a full turn before the Dragon. And you made it play immediately. :)

This looks awesome! Betrayal at House on the Hill is one of my favorites. Love the D&D re-skin. Nice to see they added some humor to some of the Items/Events (e.g. the 10 foot pole). I'll be buying this!

So excited for this game. Been following it for months now when I first heard about it over the summer. Picking up my copy today so I can explore the dark alleys, forgotten buildings, and deep catacombs of Baldur's Gate with my buddies next weekend. Thank you, Avalon Hill and Wizards of the Coast, for this awesome mash-up!

I am not normally OCD but I can't stop focusing on the fact that the TV isn't centered with the table. Zee's head clips the corner of the TV.

You guys are wonderful. My God, I laughed so hard this live play. I needed it too, I've been stressed out about my high blood pressure and the dizziness I've been experiencing the last few days.

Mike Adams If you like Baldur's Gate you should play Neverwinter if you haven't already.
@Tenjac7 жыл бұрын
I haven't actually. I was a member of the PRC mod team for Neverwinter Nights and added a couple hundred spells and some new classes to the pack, but I haven't tried Neverwinter yet. May have to do so. I liked Neverwinter Nights but it seemed a little strange to me to have you and one other party member killing dragons and balors and such when in Baldur's Gate it took 6 of you and it was going to be one hell of a fight. That always rubbed me wrong.

Kind of figure carrying a 10-foot pole during the lightning storm would increase damage rather than reduce it.

So the Yith Hound encounter vagueness (everyone there or everyone?) kind of implies the game is as poorly written as the original.

Soo, what's the verdict on this game? Will you guys make a review vid on it? From seeing it now it seems like a pretty superficial, forced retheme, but love to hear your opinion.
@Hailtothegun7 жыл бұрын
That's exactly what it looks like to me, with a few minor - but negligible, and insignificant - changes. They didn't even bother to change the terminology: Omens, Haunts, etc. That's lazy.
@3z5p9357 жыл бұрын
I actually watched the whoel thing, and they've got small bits of opinions at 1:11:11, overall they said it is fun. The guy on the left with the hat said that he likes it better than the haunted house version.

Stealing isn't new, BaHotH also has stealing (if you would deal 2 or more damage in regular combat, you can instead choose to steal an item or omen), but maybe the mechanic is different (idk since no stealing happened here)
@Enaronia7 жыл бұрын
It's slightly different. You can steal with any type of attack. The original specified physical attacks, I believe, so it didn't work if you were using one of the handful of ways to make Sanity attacks? I'd have to recheck the original rules, but I know the rules for this point out that it's a bit less strict.
@nienke77137 жыл бұрын
Enaronia the original rules read "Stealing items: If you attack someone and inflict 2 or more points of physical damage, you can steal a tradable item or omen instead of inflicting the damage. (The item's or omen's card says if it can't be traded.) You can't steal an item or omen by making a distance attack. Some haunts have special rules for stealing items." So yes, only attacks that can inflict physical damage (and aren't distance attacks), which makes sense to me because stealing is a rather physical act. Using mental powers to crush someone's mind, or something along those lines, wouldn't get you physically close enough to steal an item, whereas a particularly stealthy (speed) move or brute force (might) are very typical ways of stealing something.

Sam, you let Zee play the dwarf? For real?
@thedicetower7 жыл бұрын
Sam here...I gave him a very stern look for about 30 seconds, believe me...he has this thing where he doesn't function properly if he doesn't play yellow, and the dwarf was yellow...and yes, he chose before I even knew being a dwarf was a choice...unfair...at best...lol.
@nickhayes16267 жыл бұрын
I knew there were multiple reasons that Sam is my favorite. I will always play the dwarf if at all possible. I even play them as soon as I can in Small World even though they are by far the weakest race. 99% of the time it's to my detriment, but dwarves have always been my favorite fantasy race. D&D, WoW, DAoC, and multiple board games; too many to name!

How did you keep the character clips on? Mine are too loose and keep sliding off.
@Enaronia7 жыл бұрын
This game or Betrayal at House on the Hill? Because if you mean HotH, they've definitely fixed that problem for this version. Actually, I'm a bit concerned about wear on the boards from the tight clips... I've only played this twice so far and they seem to have left marks.
@nienke77137 жыл бұрын
I must say that I think I like this version less based on watching it being played. I can't get into the theme as much, and I dislike some the changes such as how the haunt is revealed (it used to be roll 6 dice, haunt is triggered if you roll less than the number of omen's in play), and how there are completely separated areas where there are no cards that can occur in multiple areas.
@tardersauce35786 жыл бұрын
Nienke Fleur Luchtmeijer I think the changes seem fine. I love BaHotH, and I am excited to try this.
