I think what kitty/Corn did to him was just like the final straw that broke the camels back so to speak. Just loosing his tail (and receiving no sympathy) along with finding an abandoned baby left to die and he'd had enough. Of course the villagers blamed Kitty because it totally wasn't their fault no sir-ey bob
