Betta Breeding Tank Setup and moving the fishroom to the KITCHEN!? | Fish Fan Friday Vlog

I was running out of room and I have to admit..the loud bubble sounds and the air pump were starting to get very loud in the bedroom so I had a crazy idea... move everything to the kitchen!? I already had my 20gal long in there with my male betta and guppies. I love how it was so easy to control the light in there because there are no windows (which is also very weird... ) so I figured it would be easier to keep multiple tanks there vs the previous set up. Last but not least ...the sink is sooo close!!! YESSS :P I hope that you enjoy the first look at my Betta fish koi pair breeding tank setup!

Creative Pet Keeping im 13 and my mom only lets me keep 2 bettas, one is a beautiful male king betta with blood red long pectoral fins and rays of iridescent blue and blood red on his tail. My other betta is a butterfly betta with a deep blue body with some scattered white scales toward the front of his body and a white tail who is recovering from fin rot atm, but is doing much better than before. I love your vids and they have been a huge inspiration to me to keep fish. And no, keeping fish in your kitchen is genius in my opinion, being so close to the sink. I might even do that once i have my own house later in life 😂

I know I use bubble wrap for my males nest. It stays afloat. I've seen people use it under there Indian almond leaves to keep the leaf from dropping. I also wait to release my female till she's dropping eggs. The first time I bred my betas I didn't wait and my female got really tore up and this second time I waited till she dropped them and she didn't get tore up at all. A few pecks from the male and then he saw the eggs and got to work. But that's just what worked for me! Can't wait to see how you raise your babies!

Do you have videos on water changing/cleaning the tank? I'm a new betta keeper and nervous about water changes and know how much to do how often to keep the nitrogen cycle. Should I do 25% once a week and 100% once a month? I have one male betta in a 3 gallon tank with 2 moss balls, with a filter and air stone.

Juan Otero I used to have one without a lid and he never jumped. Only my females jump, I will always use a lid for my females because they're crazy but my males are docile and don't jump they just swim peacefully

Hope, if they hatch, your fry survives! But remember breeding bettas is really hard. The aquarium cleaning is a hard process and sometimes the fry just dies of for no reason. At least that happened to my fry. They stopped eating and died. But i just wanted to say that some females doesn't want to breed and most of the time the eggs don't hatch so just don't get your hopes to much up or you will be heartbroken. Trust me i know how it feels. Just check, if your eggs do not hatch after 2 days of them being released, they might not hatch, but the male eats the eggs if they are not fertilized. Also the eggs turn kinda seethrough when they are ready to hatch! Wish you luck! I will breed my bettas in the warm spring. I don't have a heater so my males don't make nests just yet.
