I met George in 1961 (I was 15). He was so so nice to me and my friend. He is taller in person than he looks on TV and he had the most beautiful skin I have ever seen on a man. He could not have been more cordial than he was. Even offered us some greek pie someone had given him. Very nice experience.

good for you, I guess you know Route 66 (the series) is here on KZbin. That show, for some reason ( the Nelson Riddle theme song, the Vette, the freedom, those actors etc;) really made an impression on us kids when it originally aired in 1960. And it still holds up.

George looks very sexy in that dark blue shirt. I always had that fantasy of these two guys Martin and George would be secretly attracted to each. Martin pretty handsome always gave a deadpan look on his face which was kind of sexy and George was the emotional dark hair ethnic when he was in a tight spot on the show. I like the fact there will both not carbon copies but opposites of each other. George was dark and Martin a blonde . I dream of finding somebody just like Martin.. traveling in a hot stingray

And that is funny when George said they were looking for the opposite not Van Johnson he's too old.. oh yeah Tab Hunter would have been perfect. I wonder if they ever had eyes for each other. It would have been a first closeted gay TV series.. one thing I didn't care about George was is New York accent. Too I got one too coming from Brooklyn. It's not like a handsome Midwestern accent like Martin I think has I don't know. But every time I hear George talking in a dramatic way or something but New York accent always comes out and I felt like it was unsophisticated it's to New York from me even though I'm from New York. Anybody out there understand

I think it’s unfair to paint MAHARIS as totally gay. He had numerous relationships with women and was married early in his life bisexual would be better
