Skyler, you are such a positive influence for woodworkers. I read your response to one viewer that had commented, and you responded that you were very confident in who you are. That is a mark for creative people. They have to be confident in themselves to be creative. I have gleaned so many good ideas from watching your videos. There are many many channels, especially with females, showing 'try ons' or doing exercises, or cutting this and that, but when it is all said and done, that video did not help me at all. As far as I am concerned, because of your creativity, your skills, and your patience is showing details, you are the best. The queen so to speak. Thank you for being the lady that you are and for continuing to make sure informative videos for us. Your photography channel, the woodworking channel, and your store all speak volumes about who you are. Oh, by the way, the thumbnail photos of you in longer hair. . .HOT.

I enjoyed the video Skyler! You laid all the steps out very well so anyone can be successful making a cheese slicer. By the way, the 50/50 mix of Tung oil and Mineral Spirits you suggested worked out great for me yesterday. Thank you for sharing!

Your videos have not been coming up for me lately although I have been subscribed for a long time. I searched for your channel to see if you were making new videos and I see that I am still subscribed and you are still making videos! I wonder why I haven't been seeing them? I always enjoy your work even though I don't make what you make.

Cool cheese cutter. How often do you cut the cheese? I just cut the cheese, today. A big old chunk of gubbmint cheese. Then, I made a Miracle Whip and gubbmint cheese sandwich. Yum! Yum!

That is a nice project! Your boards are beautiful. Regarding the kit: can I replace just the cutting wire if it breaks? I have a lot of stainless wire but want to know if I can just remove the wire if it breaks or do I have to buy something special each time. Seems like it’s always the wire that breaks. Thanks!

You can use a shim added to the cutting board top face when drilling the hole with the doweling jig to shift the location of the hole. (The hole will be shifted one half the thickness of the shim towards the shim.)

Wait! You measured the depth of the hole when the wood was no clamped to the jig, did it made it go deeper?

My boards are never exactly the same thickness and width and I don't want hole centered since that affects the groove depth. I usually do groove 1st. Fortunately, I have an old Shopsmith and can do horizontal boring. I set boards top down, set center of bit at 3/8" above table, and use stops to get hole 5 inches from edge. Once set up, I can drill holes in many boards with no measuring.

Hi, I want to buy a laser but I’m not sure which one. I’m thinking of the Longer Ray B1 33 Watt or the acmer p2 33 watt. In your opinion, what one do you think is a better laser?

The hole needs to be no more than 3/8” from the face of the board. I set mine at 5/16” so I don’t have to cut the kerf as deep.

I made a jig that holds the board and puts a quarter inch hole centered 3/8”from the face. With a reversible front to put a hole 5.125” from one side of the jig. For boards

@@EMWoodworkingwhat’s super sad… I had made a little video showing it that I thought posted last week but apparently hadn’t… so I’ve uploaded it now. You can see in the stack of boards, everything is a different length and thickness. This jig solves that and it set for the height of my drill so I just slide it in and only have to focus on keeping it straight on the horizon. Vertical is taken care of.
