Its a great device, I own one the only bad thing it can't do is play audio to your car from a phone call when your connected via Bluetooth.

Yes this device cannot transmit calls to your car stereo on bluetooth. if you get a call while using bluetooth, you need to switch to phone speaker.

I have found a way where the bluetooth works for call. while your car play is connected, go to the bluetooth settings in your phone , dicooenct and connect the CarPlay bluetooth and the call should come from your car speakers. This is finicky and does not work all the time. @@thesog3692

If you’re using the wired connection from the unit to the stereo, can you get the calls through the car speakers? I’m also assuming the buttons on my steering wheel no longer work for answering or hanging up on a call

ATTENTION!!! Guys do not use their original mount that blocks your view driving. I bought 2 heavy duty magnet phone holder that attaches to your AC vent in that way and stick my wireless carplay to it. And won’t block your view and to avoid accident.

does look nice however I effortlessly connect my iPhone to the magnet charger in my car without the need for plugging it in, thanks to the convenience of MagSafe. I have also configured shortcuts to automatically open my maps through Bluetooth on my inexpensive FM adapter as soon turn the the car key, While Carpuride may seem appealing, the setup and removal process is cumbersome, which is why my friend with an older car rarely uses it his Carpuride, Therefore, for now, I prefer sticking to just using my iPhone in my old car, especially considering its adequate 6-inch screen size in landscape mode.

This product is great but the msrp isn't. I can't justify picking this up for a device with less than 720p resolution. Worth picking up if it's on sale though.

I don’t think it will use your cars stereo for phone calls. Only Music. I asked Carpuride and they said it’s music only to the car via BT. Phone calls use the mic and speaker in the device only. Can someone confirm and also, does the call come through device if you use aux ?

@@RationalCreed thanks for the reply.. if you have the unit and time with you, please test this. I have been planning to buy these units for a few months. But every time they are getting refreshed with new features and screen sizes. Few motorcycle compatible units are advertised that they do support calls with Bluetooth headsets in the helmets.

When i think of cars....it is not about the infotainment so much. More about all the other stuff. Because the i3 is so unique....it is very helpful to discuss unique things related to it. Sorry to gripe. I'm sure i am alone in my opinion! 😂 !

You can not use your steering wheels controls but carpuride does sell a steering wheel control which works with the unit.

Does the device respond to bluetooth commands sent from the car? For example, when my phone is connected to my cars bluetooth, I can press the fast forward button on my wheel to skip songs. So when im connected to my cars audio through the second bluetooth, could I skip songs using the wheel?

No, I tried today and you cannot skip the songs using the steering wheel skip buttons when connected through Bluetooth. its annoying.Carpuride sells string wheel controls that you can attach to your steering wheel.

Well mine can't connect to either S22 Ultra or Iphone 14 Max. Waster of 200+dollars. The funny thing is they tell you to return it BUT might get lost on the way back to the warehouse lol. Thanks Carpuride.

Yes. Only works with Pro models. 9 inch pro and w103 pro models have dual Bluetooth,, one to connect to your phone and the other to transmit to your car speakers.

I want to know once you connect to the car’s radio via Bluetooth: 1) does navigation voice and sounds transmit through the car’s speakers? 2) can I use hey siri or tap the Siri button and use the car’s microphone to listen to and respond to text messages, call people, set navigation destinations, etc and it uses the car’s speakers and microphone? 3) during phone calls, do I hear the caller through the car’s speakers and does it use the car’s microphone to pick up my voice? All the reviews forget about the feature. I don’t want to use the built in speaker or microphone if my car has better versions. I can see that those are helpful for cars that don’t have microphones but otherwise I want to use the car’s

Via Bluetooth: 1) Does navigation voice and sounds transmit through the car’s speakers? Yes. You need to select the BT Transmit. 2) Can I use hey siri or tap the Siri button. Yes. If you say hey Siri, the device responds but it is not going through your car microphone . I believe it is picking up from phone or inbuilt microphone. 3) When you are connected through bluetooth, if someone calls you, the device displays the call but you cannot hear or talk through the car play. You will need to switch to phone speaker or use connect using audio jack. Right now bluetooth is not supported for calls on this device. 4) You can disable inbuilt speaker in settings.
