Another "jam packed with info" Better Beader episode. Thanks, Allie, for taking all the time you do to make these videos. I always come away with tons of ideas and things to think about

Thanks, that was very informative. I learned a lot, I especially I like the fancy spring ring which I can use with lobster clasp.

I love the hands clasp. I learned from another KZbin video that you can also make your own buttons with a pearl and brick stitch to use as a clasp.

Thank You so much Allie. Great information that I needed so much! I will be watching this over again several times to make sure I didn't miss anything. So far I have only used a magnetic clasp so now after all this information I will try others. Thank You so much again for doing video's like this!

You can try different clasp this time, Kathie.

Great information I have short hair so never would have thought about hair catching in the clasp as I only make jewelry for gifts or for myself so thanks again really like your videos

How do you select the right size of crimp to use for the right project? Also what size crimp cover works best for what size crimp? I know your going to say test it out but I do not have the luxury of buying something if the other doesn't work. i would rather know what will work and what won't before I even start the project.

For the Crimp Bead ... 1x1mm crimps will only fit over the wire 1x so they are used to hold a bead in place along with wire. Other than that there is not much difference to a 1.5 or a 2mm crimp. with both a 3mm crimp cover will fit nicely over them if you are using crimping pliers. If you are doing a flat crimp with a 2mm crimp tube then select a 4mm crimp cover to fit around the crimp nicely.

Thanks for the info on clasps. I had been waiting for this "BB" video! The biggest problem for me is to be able to afford the clasp I want. The clasps can be very expensive. How about a sale? The hands clasp is a hoot!

I use buttons for most of my personal jewellery as I'm allergic to most metals. I sell my crafts so I do a variety of closures. Miigwetch for these better beader videos. It's always nice to what's new to me, gives me many ideas. I get bored making the same things.

This was very informative, I like box clasps for bracelets and buttons also. I like the magnets but am always afraid they will fail so I always put a safety chain on my bracelets to help with that. Thank you so much for this information it was quite helpful.

Hi, at time stamp 7.52 I can see a bracelet made with gray pearls, what stitch is this (RAW?)? Do you have a video tutorial on this one? It's very beautiful and I would love to make one :)

Hi! Could you please identify the project at 12:47 in this video with the marquis shaped clasp? I am also interested in the pinkish mauve colored leather bracelet that you show with a glue in clasp. Would truly love to make both of these. I’m also in love with the necklace that you have it 2:47 With the Sapphire and gold beads. Oh my head is spinning with the desire to make these projects. Thank you so very much!

I love using buttons, but it's hard finding any here in Australia which aren't either a. really boring or b. really expensive. However, now one of my favourite Aussie bead shops has heaps of the Potomac beads, and I have access to cup buttons. Yay! Often times if I've made something really special, I'll make a matching peyote toggle as a feature. For cuffs I love the sliding magnetic tube clasps

This was an informative tutorial, however, it sounds like the only clasp you recommend for a necklace is the lobster claw. Did I get that right? You went over so much I think I started getting confused. I will take notes the next time I watch it.
@Potomacbeadco6 жыл бұрын
As far as the Lobster... on lighter necklaces,yes, either a lobster or a push clasp over a S hook or a toggle. The reason I prefer the lobster to just a push clasp if becuase of the advantage an extender chain gives to the project
