One of the most important club skills imo. Right up there with the Shield Cast. When I first began training this it completely rewired the way I move.

I have been working out for decades. I recently got into clubs and just tried this. Even with a light club to learn the technique I can really feel the hips and obliques working in a way I am not used to.

Great exercise and even greater cues for foot positioning

This one, and the grave digger with a mace, are core work for me. Replaces the physical work I never really have had!

very good instructions. I have noticed that my right foot drifts outwards when swinging a heavy mace and also sometimes when doing single arm KB swings. Annoys the hell out of me, glad I'm not alone

How would this be adjusted for someone with restricted back rotation?
@MarkWildman Жыл бұрын
The cues don’t really change. The spine is a stack of rotational joints. Restriction in one doesn’t normally restrict all. Most people just have stopped rotating at all so they think they can’t. If you have a medical condition, consult with your medical professional

Hi Mark. Great vid as ever. :-) I'm comparing the program here (eg: 60secs left/60 secs rest/60 secs right) with the single arm club nerd math vid which suggests volume cycles of (building up to) 20 sets of 5L/5R with no break. Has your approach changed or are these just different ways to get the same outcome? Thanks. Paul.

i've found that touching the club with two fingers of the opposite hand at the bottom is a good cue for the position of the shoulders and the hips

Would you consider this a regression to doing SA pendulums or would this be something entirely different in your book?

Regression

Are you planning on releasing a single arm training vs. 2-Hand training differences in methodology video?
@MarkWildman Жыл бұрын
Yes. I will bump that up on the list

Excellent attention to proper posture and body mechanics. Only suggestion is to reverse the breath sequence. Inhaling on the concentric contraction will engage the serratus group and anchor the shoulder into the optimal biomechanic position. Great video...thank you
