In the wine scene, Gus was feeling attracted to the sommelier and the feeling seems to be mutual. But just before things could go further, Gus left because he's reminded of Max and what he's lost and his committment to revenge. He doesn't allow himself that happiness he could have.

Anyone else felt that Kim's confession about she going ahead with Howard's con despite Lalo being alive because she was having too much fun just like Walter's final confession to Skylar that everything he did he did it for himself? Amazing

rare footage of Gus actually enjoying his life for a few fleeting moments, and then quickly cauterizing the part of himself that wants to flirt and clipping it off like he's having a wart removed because he had the audacity to not think about his long-dead boyfriend for a couple hours. really paints a tragic picture of Gus especially considering we know where his vengeance brings him

Kim using the fact Howard and his wife were living separate lives to reinforce her story was cold-blooded. I think that's the point she realised she had to get away from this life.

I’ve been seeing some hate for the Gus wine scene but I loved it. It’s the first time in either show we get to see Gus be a normal person and not be playing some game or worrying about the Cartel. Jimmy telling Kim that one day they’ll wake up and realize they didn’t think of Howard all day was the theme of this episode. Every major character has had some moment they’ll never be able to go a whole day without thinking about. Mike can’t forget what happened to Nacho. Kim can’t forget Howard’s murder. Jimmy can’t forget Kim leaving. Gus can’t forget Max’s murder. I think this was the purpose of the Gus scene. Gus has never had that moment of realizing he hadn’t thought about Max all day, and I think he almost did in that scene. He was content and enjoying himself for a brief moment until he snapped back into reality and remembered he still had work to do. I think this makes Gus more of a tragic character than some realize. He spent his whole life fixated on revenge and never allowed real happiness or love to return to his life. That abrupt time jump at the end of the episode was masterfully done. I thought of it almost like a gunshot killing the character of Jimmy McGill. Comes out of nowhere and in an instant. It’s all Saul now. Loved this episode. No clue where the last 4 could go, all I know is this isn’t the last we’ll see of Kim.

I loved the Gus scene. Shows what he has to give up to run his empire. He can’t get emotionally attached to anyone. Once he saw he was getting attached, he had to leave. Most emotion we’ve seen from the man

This episode was the FIRST time I've heard either Jimmy or Kim say "I love you". I'm sure it was on purpose that the writers left that for until they broke up. It's also clear that Saul Goodman is a persona that masks all of Jimmy's pain. Great writing, AND acting.
