Star Citizen aims to span multiple video game types by combining space trading, space combat and shooter elements, in a first person massively multiplayer online game. In October of 2012, Chris Roberts, the creator of the wing commander series, launched a Kickstarter Campaign whose goal was to create the seamless persistent universe and the narrative player experience squadron 42. The project continues to break Guinness Records through incredible community support. Despite the technical hurdles, CIG demonstrates tangible results and continues to prove to its backers that the impossible is becoming possible. The scope and scale of the game increased as more funding was pledged, which became known as feature creep. Most accept that delays, although frustrating, do result in obvious progress. The player backers are given early access to the current live version of the game code, to test and offer feedback. The player experience changes from enjoyable to frustrating and back again, sometimes day by day. Star Citizen can be enjoyed, and take a break when it suits you. Numerous content creators cover the ongoing situation to keep you informed and up to day. As an early backer and tester, you need to be ready for its quirks but you can also witness the game evolve.
I am a FAN of the game and not affiliated with CIG. My opinions are my own. Contact me for business opportunities, corrections or retractions. Operated by Noobifier Media INC. CDN-120508161

i did this change allready way earlier due to the joysticks specified sensors which made it hard to control for longer than 1 hour dogfighting. so setting these up will also give you some more comfort as the joystick input will result in more power versus the standard 1:1 linear curve!

Thanks for the tips @TheNOOBIFIER1337. FYI I posted a video the other day showcasing a bug where the custom curve I set for Flight Rolling (on gamepad) randomly resets itself back to the default 1.00 setting: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmPUkHyHp6eiZrs Just an FYI for you and your viewers in case you're seeing the same issue. There's also a link to the Issue Council Report in the description.

Well, that's a world of 'nope' from me. I'll only start doing this when they stop radically changing flight characteristics and at least somewhat lock them down. (and at that point, hopefully I won't need to) Thanks a ton for the videos, though--it gives me all the 'its not soup yet' info without me having go through the trouble of checking 3.10 out myself. Or probably 3.11, 3.50 or 4.0.

This is a random question but I thought you would be a good person to ask about this. I want to buy an eclipse ingame next patch and I'm not sure if I should use the cross section torpedoes with a 12s lock time or the electromagnetic ones or infrared ones that do a tiny bit more damage and a 6s lock time, I know you would recommend cross section ones because countermeasures can't block them but I'm not sure if their worth it because of the long lock time? I would appreciate it if you give me your ideas. Thanks. (Edit:) or should I just get the retaliator?? Or a vanguard or something else, pls give your recommendations!!!!

Is software outside of Star Citizen a better option, then? That way, if you modify your curves and get them right, then forget to save them in SC, they will still apply? TARGET and vJoy come to mind, but there are a ton of other options - are they worth looking into in lieu of in-game modeling?

TIL there were curves in Star Citizen. Been a backer since 2.2 or 2.3 i think. never noticed this. in the RC Heli world, curves are critical on how you fly a RC heli. I just set this up for my throttle now that i use in SC.

Figuring out control settings and bindings is one of the most frustrating part of games. I want to play, I don’t want to play with settings. I’m more likely to just suffer with and learn with the defaults. It’s not that I don’t want to perfect things, but it takes so long for me.

I know these settings exist, but I can't be bothered messing with it given how much work it is. I have the same problem with actual flight sims, like X-plane. It's especially bad when dealing with an aircraft I have real-world flight experience with. Ideally the flight behaviour in the sim should match the real aircraft. That's all well and good, but that means tweaking about a million different settings in the flight sim. (to say nothing of technically building a craft specific cockpit setup, which is just plain unreasonable) That's fine, but these are usually global settings in a flight simulator, when what I'm trying to accomplish is usually to configure aircraft specific behaviours. I feel like I'd have the same problem in Star Citizen. It's all well and good to be able to adjust input curves on my controllers... But I get the feeling I'd want considerably different settings for my 600i than I'd want for a P-72. (leaving aside the current reality of atmospheric vs space flight) So... Yeah. That these options exist is great, but they're a bit problematic to use effectively... Plus setup time is atrocious. I already had massive issues because the PTU didn't have my keybinds from the live build, and it turns out I have tweaked quite a few things, and without those tweaks even basic flight becomes a massive headache. (for instance, I have to outright turn off the ability to use my joystick to control free-look, or it interferes with my flight controls, given I have a dedicated controller to look around with...) Going back to the default controls almost left me at the point where I couldn't actually fly a vehicle effectively... Having to deal with that every patch would be a nightmare. (of course, the other side of that is copying over old settings might leave me without critical new functionality bound to anything at all, which is also problematic...)

I hadn't seen how they handle custom curves... would be easier to use if they didn't pre-populate it with points, because it looks like you need to waste a lot of time clearing out unneeded points just to get to something smooth (which is generally what you want).

Imagine having the ability to change your flight settings or adjust the curves directly on your MFD's. I think we would get a lot more use out of it if it were more accessible. Having to go to the menu everytime you want to adjust something really kills the motivation for me personally.

Hello Noobifier. Thanks so much for this video. I was having the same issues in 3.10 with my Virpil Dual Sticks. I cannot or don't know how to adjust my curves in SC as my sticks aren't listed in the first four controller HOTAS options in SC. One of my sticks is input 5. So I adjusted the curves for pitch, yaw and strafe left/right in the Viripl software. I set the axis curves to symetrical 5, 15, 30, 60 , 100, 100, 100,100, 100, 100. This definitely feels better. The advantage here is that every time a new patch is applied to SC I don't need to redo the curves but the downside is that this will take longer to change as the developers change and refine the flight model. Thanks again.
