Firstly I'd like to say how much I enjoy your content, it's really helpful and easy to follow... And secondly this video was just what I needed to see. I've been struggling with getting images to engrave on stainless steel without that horrible x-ray effect, I've been experimenting with stainless steel for the last few days with no real progress. The closest I got with good results was to make a blank clean pass over the area of the stainless steel, and then engraved the image over it but I've not managed to find away to engrave a clean pass without it taking hours. Your technique makes perfect sense and I can't wait to try it out tomorrow, also I think I've had good results by using Atkinson and then engraving over the image in sierra, but then I really don't understand the differences in these modes to make a valid comment 😂

Using your settings as a starting point, I went ahead and did many experiments. Here is the best results so far but still needs some tweaks. Before processing I coat the reflective metal Tags with Black dry-erase marker. On a Brass Round Tag (Non-Plated) or 430 Stainless Dog Tag (Non-Plated): Only one pass is necessary, no need to invert Image: IR Laser: Dot Duration = 2250, Power = 100%, DPI 1200 : Bi-Directional, Bitmap = Sierra Be sure to thoroughly wipe-off all residue with rubbing alcohol and a cotton cloth (Not a Paper Towel) Make sure that the original image is at least 500 DPI, however I saw no noticeable improvement with an 800 DPI image The 1200 DPI Setting seems to be the key to a better imaging but it takes much longer to process. Also I use 0% Fuzziness. You can fine tune by adjusting the grayscale. Starting Point can be: ----10-----------445---- I hope this helps in refining the process.

Hi, what parameters can I use to engrave shiny gols stainless Steel so that the imagen comes out in dark tones without looking burnt? The images I have recorded are never seen from the front and it looks gray. Thanks for the video

For me Savanah seemed to work better for portraits although I'm still a novice myself. I'm definitely going to try this trick though because I was having trouble with this exact thing

(F1 ULTRA question) What would the settings be after the first time with the settings Jarvis, power: 80%, dot duration 100 and dpi to 750. My gues is Dot Duration = 2250, Power = 80%, DPI 500 : Bi-Directional, Bitmap = Sierra? I will give it a try
