Great video! And it’s really got me thinking. I noticed in your bio that you’re a teacher also. I am as well and wondering if you’ve ever done a school fundraiser with this type of product. If so, what do you think you’d charge? I’m guessing it would depend largely on size but just trying to think of a starting point. I bet kids would have a great time spraying painting the canvases!

So that's it?! There's no adjust the power levels? The laser and software takes care of the rest? Prep the canvas, load the image in the software and press start? I just received an M1 Ultra and will definitely want to experiment with this.

Wow, thanks for the video, these are so fantastic. I am awaiting on my replacement M1 from Xtool which is taking forever, however I will definitely give this a shot when and if it finally arrives. Just watching this video has given me so many ideas with the paint. Thinking white small bread and butter plates with a flat centre, you could do so much on those, they could be sold as collectlibles. So just doing one offs. Even mugs, cups, or tumblers and the list goes on. This technique will definitely expand my variety of items and methods of art work on my peices.

Question: I painted a canvas gold, blue, and black (top) using a 10w S1 system. I used 20% power with 125 speed. I'm getting white only against the black and not seeing the colors underneath. The white that I'm seeing is that the canvas, OR is the laser only grading the black to 'white.'

How significant are the differences in your results using the 20W module vs the 40W? I know the 20W has a smaller dot size and a square dot vs the rectangular dot of the 40W, but I wonder to what extent this impacts the level of achievable detail in the real world. I have the 40W module, but no 20W to compare.

Thanks. The 20W is surprisingly powerful! Can handle all I want for a diode. If you end up wanting more than 20w on a diode, I’d save up for the P2 and get CO2.

Great video! I've done the odd bit of playing with paint and laser but not much so far. I bought a load of white ceramic tiles, it was cheaper than canvases and multi use! Where I live, it tends to be a bit of a pain to go outside and spray paint and to be honest, since I don't do a lot of it, the cans tend to seize up....However, I have found that if you use a magic eraser torn into strips, you can dip into acrylic or other paint and get a really good, even layer, quite quickly. I can do that in my craft room easily and I already have lots of small tubes in loads of colours to use up. The other thing with using tiles to practice on, is that you can clean them off after and re use for more testing!

It depends on the size of canvas and whether you are engraving the whole or part of a canvas.. small images cam take from 30mins and up to several hours.. I've seen 6+ hrs on large pieces on an extended D1 20w

Love the tutorial, and appreciate your cautions about selling art made with licensed IP. You should know AI images are 100% generated using art that is stolen. The creators have never given permission, nor have they been compensated. I’m Lea Hernandez, a long time comics and illustration pro, and one of the artists who was ripped off. There are plenty of other resources for art that is useable via Creative Commons, or can be licensed inexpensively.
@MegUSN52Ай бұрын
Professional artists use Midjourney and other AI models as well. And it isn't just using one image. It's literally using thousands of images as references. No one is stealing your images or art.
@divaleaАй бұрын
@ My, and thousands of other artists, images were stolen. They were used without our consent and without payment. That is stealing. Artists that choose to to use AI don’t make it ok. In fact, they’re not well regarded by their peers. Generating images is _not_ using those images as reference. It is using stolen images to generate images.
