The fact that Airpods 4 fit like the classic Airpods 1/2 gen is the best news for me. Having 50% of the noise cancellation of Airpods Pro 2, a great microphone + good sound = Airpods 4 winner in my book

I also gave Airpods 3 to a family member due to it’s shape not fitting my ears. If this fits well like Airpods 2 then it’s a winner. I already ordered the ANC one, so I will know about that very soon.

I am one of the few in here that actually prefer the sound of the AP 4 ANC over the 2nd gen. APP. Different strokes for different folks is what I say. I have a set coming to me in a day or two. I just hope the fit works for me.

as someone who has airpods 2, airpods 3 and airpods pro 2, i bought the airpods pro2 2 days ago and i dont even like using my other airpods when im charging the APP2. the ANC is amazing and being able to go from transparency to ANC by holding the airpod is a lifechanger at school and work

AirPods 4 do not feature MagSafe charging, due to the case being so small. However, they do support lossless audio when paired with Vision Pro.

Awesome review. I was contemplating whether to upgrade from my gen3 to the gen4 with ANC and you have convinced me to take the plunge. And TBH I really can’t fault the price tag. I have always liked my Sony WF-1000XM3’s sonically but I get quite a bit of discomfort from buds so going over to AirPods has been a breath of fresh air albeit the slight drop in sound quality IMO. Like you said, I don’t need the swipe volume control, but I want it! If the feature exists on Pro’s, why can’t they just add that one simple capacitive circuit. Also, shorter battery life is a real bummer.

It usually uses what you left it on but yea you can hold it for 2 sec and it will switch to transparency or ANC

So. I’ve literally only had these about an hour but I am impressed. I tested the noise cancelling against a white noise machine and it was surprisingly effective. Sound is good as you say, and fortunately for me the fit is good and snug, little chance of these coming out.

I have the AirPods 3 and the fit is perfect plus I like that I can use MagSafe and I have lost them and the Find My feature works perfectly. I’m satisfied. I don’t know if the 4’s will fit me and not willing to take the chance. Tried the Pros and returned them due to fit and I personally don’t like silicone plugging up my ears.

I’ve seen a trend for airpods. When a new product got launched works great so that more people will buy it then when they move closer to next release they decrease a little bit from the anc quality to make the new product to seem amazing and get more sales. When iPhones were release there were many times when they promoted the great processor improvements with ai and when iPhone 16 has been released we’ve found out that the earlier iPhone does not support apple intelligence. There is too much marketing and less improvements. In the end only the margins count. Not to say that they have a general product release then european customers find by their own that some features are supported just for US.

Comparing the noise cancelling of the open ear design of the Airpods 4 to the closed ear design of the Airpods Pro 2 is an unfair comparison. It would have been much better to compare the noise cancelling of the Airpods 4 to similar open ear design earbuds that have active noise cancelling.
