Yo BO! Thanks for the review. I spent two years, $$$, and multiple carry styles (sometimes two pouches or more based on frequency of use, and landed on using the Evergoods CAP2L. What I love about it is that no matter how I pack it, it will retain it's shape. I have two Seagate hard drives (two baby bricks) plus the 96W Macbook brick, (with the extension), a hub because some times I have to connect to VGA, Logitech laser pointer, a teeny tiny 16G flash drive, an HDMI to USB C cable, a VGA to lightning dongle, assorted cables for USB A, C and lightning. I also carry my Logitech Trackball mouse. That won't fit in any tech pouch so it has it's own place in my CTB26L or PLC20. (Yes, I'm an Evergoods hog). All of this gets paced into the CAP2L. It doesn't alter the shape of the pouch. This pouch you reviewed appears to change it's shape based on load out. For me that's a negative. I also don't like too much organization as it requires you remember where you put every little tidbit. And let's face it, our work schedule and multi-tasking I hope you feel better. I love watching your videos and appreciate your style of review.

Thanks for watching and sharing your journey of finding your perfect pouch. The cap2 is an amazing pouch.

I always try to adapt the bag to my needs, instead of feeling forced, some bags make that difficult indeed. In this case I would take out some of the stitching from the elastics to make room for the cables and install some velcro strips to create smaller closed pockets ;) but yeah, the ever goods is more my style

I LOVE the organization of the Motion Sling. I have this and it is levels above anything else in terms of organization and not being over complicated like the peak designs you mentioned. Also the second compartment with the magnetic closure pocket you put cables in, I actually put my iPad mini in there, and I put my iPhone 15 pro max in the front compartment magnetic closure pocket (that’s actually how Sympl says it was designed for) and it works perfectly for that. Great review of the bag, and great comparison with the peak designs tech pouch. Sympl definitely for the win though. Big fan of lots of organization here!

I had one, just sold it off for the exact cons you brought up. There aren't enough 3D depth to accommodate the number of organizational layers this bag has, and filling each of layer really adds up to the thickness that it becomes difficult to zip up. Plus like you said, those internal zipped pockets and loops, I've really no use for them. The sling functionality is useless to me as well because there isn't enough space for me store miscellaneous items and when I use a bag as a sling, I want to put my wallet, snacks, maybe even a small waterbottle in there. That said, I did love the size (if its not too packed) and the material of this bag, and how it served me more as a compact tech pouch where I can just dump it into my Sympl tote bag with ease.

That’s great info, and I also thought the same when first packing out the Motion Sling. I tried to pack it out with too many unrealistic things that just don’t fit in there, nor did I need to be carrying them, I just thought since there was organization for it I may as well load it up haha. But as soon as I realized what I was doing and packed it normally, with what I actually need to be carrying when wearing a bag of this size, it was perfect. On my day to day I’m carrying a lot of smaller items like my keys, slim wallet, phone, battery bank, phone charger cable, snacks, iPad mini, iPad pen, etc. I’m not carrying larger items like a DSLR camera, laptop, mouse, water bottle etc, so this is a perfect bag for my day to day. If I want to carry the bigger items I carry a backpack (sympl Weekender 25L) and I personally don’t like a sling or tech organizer that just has one open cavity, I don’t like all my things just being dumped into the open hole. I’d prefer if they were all organized and I know exactly where everything is, and also knowing they’re protected, not like in an open cavity sling or tech kit.

I feel your pain re the separate adapter for German plugs. I have to carry the three-pin UK adapter around which are always very bulky. I've noticed a lot of tech pouches originating from the US etc are not geared towards us UK dwellers with our annoying three-pin plugs!
@Youknowthebo8 ай бұрын
Yeah, I saw UK plugs. It's amazing how big and cumbersome they are. But I feel like they are the most durable compared to the rest of the plugs 😅
@MrDiPY8 ай бұрын
Yes, very true@@Youknowthebo . They've definitely got extra safety feature, and they stay in the socket easier. When I've been to Europe and tried to plug a larger Anker charge into a Europe adapter, it has struggled to stay in the socket.

the only time i use a tech pouch larger than cap2 is if I need to carry the steamdeck… i use the tomtoc then 😂
@Youknowthebo3 ай бұрын
The steamdeck looks like a chunky piece of hardwar. would love to try one in the future. Is it heavy inside your backpack?
@Medsas3 ай бұрын
@@Youknowtheboit is pretty heavy... around double a nintendo switch 😅 but the annoying part is that it is 30cm wide... pouches and slings that are designed to fit the switch exactly wont work, they will be missing 5 cm😅 also a switch has detachable joycons to make it even more portable, the steam does not have this feature, you need a very long sling like the Chrome Kadet... not many options and reviewers dont care with the Steam deck as its a niche product, they only compare with the Switch 😅

I love my evergoods CAP1 and CAP2! This tech pouch is cool, but it seems like most other "tech pouch". Almost too much function and not as much style like the evergoods.

Very good presentation of this bag Bo, and I agree with the cons you've stated. I have a PGY tech, Bellroy and several other pouches, bags and yes, I'm a nerd. But a good Pro for this particular bag is the use for us who are musicians. It seems like this is a 2 sided bag. So one half can be used as the tech pouch, and the other for playing accessories. Or, if a photographer packs tech stuff and then filters, SD or other cards, external drives etc etc. The bulkiness of this bag doesn't bother me if I can kill two flies and carry everything I need in one place. But we're all different, aren't we?
