When I got my GW in 2020, I ordered the Akaso V50X and utilized a side mount kit under the left mirror. That camera cost me 120.00 shipped from Amazon. Till today, zero issues, fantastic video/photos that I can watch on my 4K TV. 4K is superb. I use 1080P/60. I just cannot complain about Akaso. I refuse to spend so much for the GoPro name. But I guess, someone need to pay for the CEO's houses and Yachats. I am going to order the new Akaso 7 soon. To all, great camera for the money !!!!!!!!!

Nice to see the side by side footage. The main thought after watching the video, is no, it's not half the price. The Hero 10 is only $350 ($70 more than the AKASO) and it includes a free year of GoPro Plus membership. The plus membership gives you unlimited free exchanges, so even if you break your GoPro, you can send it back to them (broken) and they will send you a brand new one. You also get free unlimited storage of your GoPro footage on their cloud. The upload rate is pretty slow though, so I mostly just use it overnight when I go to sleep, and my footage is done uploading by morning. Other than that, great review. Very honest (price aside). It was great seeing the footage side by side between the two cameras, though it would have been nice to see the footage compared at better quality. 1080p will be dropped as the standard in favor of 4K in the next few years.

@@patzke oh ok, I didn't realize there may be a cost, I put my GoPros through hell and salt water and have never had any issues. Although if I did ruin one, getting a new free one for $100 would be a sweet deal! And it still makes the Brave nearly as expensive as the Hero 10 @ $350, not half the price lol

If you are talking from a political and humanitarian viewpoint I can't really disagree with you. However if you are talking from a quality viewpoint then I do, especially as many things that we think were made in the West weren't and were made in China, though much of that has now gone to places like Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, etc. China can build high quality products, but if you want just cheap, not very good quality products then you can get that as well at really stupid prices. Unfortunately many had stuff made, or bought that poor quality, sometimes dangerous items, and then sold to their own customers, which is generally where the bad reputation came from. However never rely on another country's manufacturers not to change the specification, use inferior materials, etc that has to be in the responsibility of the original company.

Colors look better on go pro, the other looks a bit washed out. Also the extra editing time seems like it would eat up the difference in price.

When u say washed out on the Akaso ,lookin at both & Im not there to see the scenery which is true to what u see with ur eyes,the Akaso or the Gopro,seems like the Gopro is adding too much color & isnt what youd see with ur eyes,I just bought 2 cameras,Akaso 7LE & aGopro 11,so Im gonna compare next couple of days

I have an Akaso Brave 7. I’m not really a fan of it. I recently picked up an Hero 10 and it is way above the Akaso. Only paid $349 though not $500.

How can you compare a Hero 10 with an Akaso 7? They are leagues apart as are their prices. It comes down to will the Brave 7 deliver what you as the purchaser want. The Brave 7 here in the UK is about £160 including tax and delivery. The Hero 9 is just under £300 so makes the Brave 8 well over priced, but the Hero 10 is currently around £380.

I have a Hero 8. I agree with your observation that the colors are not as good as the Akaso, although it still pretty good. Could probably be adjusted to be better and it is a lot cheaper. Interesting new product.

Don't you folks get on my case about the age of my GoPro. I am using a GoPro 2 and have been since it came out. It gives me what I want. It has a case to which I cut out holes for an external microphone and to inset a USB connector so my battery never dies. The limitations are that it only takes a 32 GB card, so I have to change out the cards instead of the battery on multi hr rides. I have to carry multiple cards for long/multi day rides which results in longer editing for my videos. I actually like the color of the AKASO camera as it looks true, I live in AZ so the colors are more driven by the direct and harsh sunlight. My GP2 has given me some really good videos that I post on my KZbin channel. However I am really looking for a 360 camera to add to my rides and would welcome suggestion on that type of camera. I ride both solo and in groups so the ability to display what is in front, to the side(s) and to the rear would be nice.

And that's the point if your GoPro2, even if old, does everything that you need then it's the correct camera for you. Why spend more money when you don't need anything from a later model or version, The issue with YT reviews is with the rendering of colours as though one looks better than the other side by side you don't know which one is the true or nearer colour rendering and that is assuming no editing of them. Many of the videos on YT that are not reviews have actually been edited and that includes colour and exposure.

He's looking identical to the DJI Osmo Action. But has a remote control. The DJI do not have a remote and has not the possibility to connect one. So on the motorcycle the DJI is useless.

stabilization: Gopro Wide Angle: Akaso Color: akaso for me what I don't like in akaso is memory card compatibility very choosy and don't want a cheap or mid-range memory card, the camera wants a premium memory card like Sandisk brand the akaso doesn't like ultra variant the camera is more functional in extreme and extreme pro ( I don't know if you encounter this) what I don't like about Gopro is the market price too expensive and not all accessories are not in the package you need to buy them separately expensive price too in my opinion, if a camera for you is life every hour every minute or in business or vlogging outdoors use Gopro if you're more side-seeing or enjoying the weekend ride enough for akaso water test for akaso i tried in heavy rain during our motorcycle ride no problem encountered so far
