Wonder if Lexus will concede and put in a diesel for the Aussie market, just like they did with the LX...

Why get the LC300 GR Sport over the GX550 Overtrail? Better engine, and longer range per fill up. Plus the 300 is a LandCruiser.

Looks good but fuel tank too small for out of city use. Even the new Prado fuel tank at over 100L may be too small for towing. Hope they introduce a double tank model in the future, or they may loose the appeal for towing. A lot of people purchased the Prado for towing just because of the dual tanks. Are they abandoning this market ?

To think that now Lexus has started to use plastic in its interior just speaks volumes of where the vehicle industry is going. Back then, Lexus prided itself on using the finest, smoothest and appealing interior Upholstery. I guess now its profit, emissions and cost cutting that really matters. And that's why i'll stick with the previous gen GX 460 or the bigger LX 570 or LX 600...just because of their well made interiors.

no way, all the bullshit emissions rubbish they have to stick on the diesels now, makes them expensive to buy, service and unreliable! I used to be a Diesel advocate, but Petrol is easier, simpler and more reliable these days. Fuel burn isnt that bad either, my 300 uses same as the 200 series and they both use more than new GX when not towing with a heavy right foot. (just neeed a proper size fuel tank on the GX)

Any reason why the GX media videos in Australia where just released now? I thought the GX was released in Australia a few months ago. I even saw one on the road in Newcastle NSW back in August. I would not have thought the one I saw was a test vehicle as it wasn't camouflaged.

Suggest doing your research on the V6 engines in these failing and how Toyota is responding with recalls and buybacks. There’s lots on the internet e.g. see Tinkerer’s Adventure “Is Toyota V35A-FTS Engine Reliable?” where he talks about 3 bearing issues in engines built in Japan, over 4 years, indicating it’s not just a US engine issue. The Car Guy Online is also following this story - see “2024 Toyota Tundra’s Soon To be Recalled”.

Morning.... 2:41 mark....excuse me and I'll try not to sound rude... why in the world is it wrong to sevice a car every 6 months..? First are you a mechanic? And engenier? Do you understand what is long term reliability? Do you understand the chemestry behind the oils and engine components? The internal friction? A short term service interval guarantees a long term reliability because you continue to protect the internals from wear adn sludge which in the end causess engine failure.... the fact that some cars say oil doesn't requiere a frequent change is bad for the engine over 5 to 10 years... I'm sorry but I do disagree with the comment of insulting.... ask any mechanic and he will explain why a short term 6month or 10k runs requiere an oil change..

The recall is for early model Tundras. (Possibly Sequioas and LX600s. I forget. Google it lol). GX started production after the issue and they are built in a different factory. No recall issued on GX. Also, there have been updated part numbers seen for the affected parts. I’m personally pretty confident the GX will be fine.

To service your car every 6 months and you find that insulting. No 4x4 will last without regular services. In fact no car will last without it. You obviously don’t understand proper maintenance and servicing of 4x4’s.
@carsales2 ай бұрын
A fair point - but only if you're regularly heading bush or outback. Most owners of these vehicles will rarely take them off road, which is where two services per year is insulting. Hyundai used to do this with many of their cars but changed it after customer backlash. And this is a Lexus after all. Given many cars now have 20,000km and mostly 12-month servicing intervals, these 6-monthly intervals are overkill. Perhaps if there was a clause that said "6 months with regular off-roading - 12 months for on-road use" it would make more sense.

@@carsalesit’s insulting to the vehicle not to maintain it, and 6 month intervals, especially in extreme climates (such as those where temperatures fluctuate drastically winter to summer), is not unreasonable. And guess what, sure you will be fine on a yearly schedule for a handful of years BUT manufacturers themselves don’t care if you return to dealership for such services, they want their vehicles to be disposable so you keep buying replacement parts/vehicles because you aren’t diligent in maintaining them. Dealerships do care but manufacturers also don’t care about dealerships so.. Vehicles that last decades don’t make manufacturers money so.. go ahead and buy that Kia or that Mazda..
