Hi Dr Jones. Thank you once again! I never miss your videos. You asked for feedback, so I just wanted to share my experience with coconut oil. I happened to discover coconut oil several weeks ago and I LOVE it. After I apply it my doggie stays flea-free for 2-3 days. Then I just re-apply it. It gives me peace of mind that it's non-toxic and not harmful when he licks it off. In fact, it's even nutritious lol ! It's absorbed into his skin and hair after about an hour, so he doesn't stay oily. And he smells nice and coconutty. I hadn't tried spraying it, but I will try it now. I've been scooping it out with my fingers and rubbing it directly onto his skin. (I spoon some out of the jar and put into a separate container for this) I kind of go under his hair. It actually seems to melt on his skin, so I don't heat it. This also gives him a nice massage, which he likes. So that's my experience with coconut oil which is TOTALLY POSITIVE. Thanks again! LOVE your channel.❤❤❤❤🐾🐾🐾

Coconut oil kills fleas, too. Works for flea infestation. My cat even seems to like the feel of it when I pour a little coconut oil on her. Yes, she looks wet from the oil for a couple of days, but she licks it off and is none the worse for it.

I only use D Earth outside around edges of patio. That stuff is so fine and dangerous to put on animals or inside home. OMG! Nightmare! I learned the hard way.years ago. Vacuumed for a year and dust still all over the place. It's such a fine powder, but so abrasive. Dangerous for lungs and eyes. I did try DE on pets once and it's makes a horrible mess on the fur. I would never put on pets again like I tried years. Scary! Just little around patio causes bugs to be belly up overnight from the sharpness of DE. So please don't use on pets. So easy to scratch eyeballs and lungs. I've only boughten DE in food grade so I took in water and drank and wrecked my insides after one time. Thought I would have to call ambulance. Torture! I would never have pet ingest. I'm glad I was the guinee pig to learn. And don't use dusty litter. OMG! That is evil too. Poor cats face close to litter. Then they lick to clean an breathe even more off their fur. Respiratory issues for sweethearts. And noooo baking soda in litter. That burns the entire digestive system and they die after suffering. No fragrance either. I do like coconut oil for non toxic. Gonna grab a lot of dirt though.

He loves the coconut oil massages - lines up every morning without calling him. It dissolves readily into the hair and skin - no oily mess if you massage it in down to the skin...I keep it in a jar not a sprayer.

I've been reading that garlic in small doses, when eaten by the dogs daily, can have a repellent effect after about a week. And they make garlic sprays for the yard to repel mosquitos, fleas, tick, and other bugs. So if it works both outside and internally, why can't garlic be sprayed on the dog? Dr. Andrew, Doesn't liquid, otherwise known as fractionated coconut oil ( I'm talking about the kind you buy) have the lauric acid removed? Isn't it the lauric acid that is so beneficial in the ways we are using coconut oil here in your videos?I just wanted to clarify this because I see some are suggesting to use the liquid form of coconut oil that can be readily purchased. It's usually used as a carrier oil for humans in massage therapy. It does not contain lauric acid. Just asking for clarification, please. Thank you. ❤
@adrianescalante83134 жыл бұрын
I second this question!!
@jennadaigle75084 жыл бұрын
I checked and found out that fractionated (liquid) coconut oil DOES NOT contain lauric acid, which is the ingredient that kills & repels fleas. So ONLY natural, unaltered cocomut oil will work to kill / repel fleas. To make fractionated (liquid) coconut oil all the lauric acid, which has a high melting point, is REMOVED, in order for the oil to stay liquid. What's left are MCT oils such as capric and capeilic acids, which DO NOT kill or repel fleas. So bottom line is that for flea killing/repelling ONLY natural, unaltered (unmanufactured) coconut oil is effective. But really, it liquifies on your fingertips and on your dog's skin anyway. Just scoop it out and rub it directly onto his/her skin. This also provides a nice doggie massage.

@adrianamara60634 жыл бұрын
I didn"t read that particular study but I know it's the lauric acid in coconut oil that kills fleas. It dissolves their outer shell. Lauric acid is found in pure, natural coconut oil. In fact, the less it's processed the better it works. It's advised to purchase organic, cold pressed, virgin coconut oil. It doesn't need to be mixed w anything. That's what I use and I've found it to be an excellent flea repellent.

I have a 5 pounds yorkie poo girl who wont eat. She will eat chicken and steak....help

Dr Jones has a publication on feeding a natural diet (which would include chicken & steak). Much better for a dog than kibble.

Jesus child It’s interesting how our pets try to tell us what we should be feeding them so it’s up to us human parents to really pay attention. Since your dog is so small, why not keep feeding her what she wants to eat? Along with some green beans, carrots, peas, blueberries and cranberries if she wants it. Keep loving your pup!

hi Doc, I have used soresto collar for three years, not one tick (tons in this area). Ticks loved Frontline & Advantix..... Alot of Counterfeit Soresto collars on ebay.... anyone trying, buy from costco or retail store.

Those collars are not safe & I believe they cause cancer. Just google it or read the info on the pharmaceutical guide.
