at @17:19 I almost fell off my chair and then get up and take several seats. I am so humbled, touched, rebuked, corrected and moved to true repentance for the way I have been living my Christian life.

It doesn’t take a supernatural work of grace in the heart to do miracles, but it does take a supernatural operation of grace in the heart to become a person with a Christ-like character.

What a convicting, humbling and eye opening sermon❣️This is why Jesus told us that we would know them by their fruit‼️ I understood why He said God sends the rain on the just and the unjust. If He did not do that, there would not be enough food for the people around the world. Not all farmers are Christians, and not all Christians are farmers. Scriptures do show us this truth. God used multiple u godly kings through whom He worked to bring about His will. He even called them His servants. They were not changed in heart, but were His instruments of His will on earth.

Gifts of the spirit vs fruit of the spirit, love
@rhondarockhound6222 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I’ve been feeling less than a Christian because I don’t speak in tongues, or see any miraculous gifts. But Tim, I don’t know one person I’ve brought to Christ, not even my own grown up children! There’s got to be something wrong. My husband says it’s the surrounding culture luring them away. I see my children love others and working to help others, not living materialistic- good fruit. But they see the church and it’s theology as a monster. I’ve spent the last 10 years studying, reading scripture, and listening to all the rhetoric on you tube, hoping I will be able to teach/ present/ Christ in a compelling way to reach young people. Unfortunately, it has led me to realize that so much of what we hear in Church is man’s theories. But love, the nut in the nutshell, Jesus is what we all agree on.

I have loved ones that have yet to have their eyes opened to see the glory of Jesus Christ too, I pray for them continuously. I am patient, God was patient with me, I rest in His kindness and perfect timing. Don't lose heart my love. May the grace of God keep you in perfect peace, amen.

Don' t give up Rhonda: you have no idea of how much your lifestyle impacts those who see you live. I felt very much like you about my children some years ago, but now I harvest with immense joy what was sowed in bitter tears. Same for the speaking in tongues: I desired it very much but had to wait before it was given to me. So keep loving, He is faithful beyond what we can imagine, and "is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us" (Eph. 3, 5) ! Blessings from France.

What a great message, never heard 1 Corinthians love passage like this and more than that, I've been wondering who Jesus meant by "depart from me, I never knew you". When we see the BEAUTY of GRACE, that's when we are changed by His Love, to love those around us.

This scares me. I am coming back to the church, having felt completely disillusioned by the evangelical church amidst their embarrassing embrace of Trump. I have always had problems with frustration and experiencing true change. And I have wanted to. I’ve tried everything. I have prayed and prayed but no lasting change in my personality. This message is telling me I was not a true Christian. Someone will say I didn’t have my eyes on Jesus. I was trying my best to focus on him for years, and praying for him to change it from me trying to him being my life. I work in an environment with students with extreme autism. I feel as incapable of changing my wiring as they are.

Keller is wrong about Judas. I believe Judas was a disciple of Christ, but he lost his faith in Jesus. In fact, you can find the exact point where he lost it. It's in John 6:70-71, when many disciples walked away from Jesus after His sermon about His flesh and blood being actual food and drink.
