Oh Christa! I just love you so much. This is such a wonderful home remedy and I will definitely be making this because I have always been a bit concerned about using anything with petroleum jelly. This homemade ointment will work perfectly. And I love the addition of clove oil! Perfect!! But I have to say...what warmed my heart the most was what you said toward the end. Yes, this can be such a hard time of year for so many people who feel alone and downtrodden. Reaching out to them - even with the smallest of gestures - can make such a huge impact in their life. A number of years ago, someone came up to me at church. I didn't recognize them but they thanked me for something I had given them years earlier!! They said that they were having a really rough day and what I did lifted their spirits. I have to confess, I couldn't even remember what I had did but it showed me that sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest impacts. Your words are so important for all of us to hear and a gentle reminder to always be reaching out to others - this time of year and always! We all need each other through good times and bad. Being surrounded with a feeling of love and being cared for can make all the difference in the world to someone! Thank you SO much for being you and for all you do and share. You are the most beautiful soul on KZbin. The world needs more people like you!! Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy, and Blessed New Year! Love, Mary

Great video and helpful. I have to mention honey for burns and infections. It saved my dad from having his foot amputated when the antibiotics werent working. And I've used it on burns and prevented scarring and blistering. (The deeper the burn the longer you'll need to leave it on.) And this is for serious burns that most go to doctors for, as with a cutting torch. No infection. No scar. Soak gauze in honey and wrap over it. I actually am using it on a finger right now for an infected dog bite yesterday that made it swell up as big as my thumb. Pain is already going away after just a few hours. God Bless.

My experience with Neosporin not long ago. I was avid user of Neosporin until the last time on a cut turned into almost loosing a huge chunk of my finger. Went to the ER, doctor said don't use Neosporin. You don't really need a triple antibiotic. He recomended Bactrum ointment. He also said they over promote it. I was surprised because I've used it for years. Never again. So thank you for your recipe.

Thank you! Comfrey external use only, it is said to be a cancer risk when taken internally. Oil things like rose water keep better in dark bottles & dark places( sunlight could reduces effectiveness & shelf life).

@@icecreamladydriver1606 Dear, you can go through the same processes she describes in this video, and then just substitute plantain. Plantain is a wonderful wild herb (although you can grow it yourself). I, personally, think it's magnificent, especially for blood clotting / open wounds. I just chew the leaves up, place the 'spit ball' on wound, wrap it with more leaves, and rest. It's sort of like an onion poultice on your foot overnight to pull out infection. God said the herbs were for the healing of the nations, and I agree. Blessings dear.

Burns, (not severe ones) can be treated with good ol' mustard (French's will do) applied for about twenty minutes. It's an old chef's kitchen remedy. I have tried this a lot more that once. Pain was permanently gone after treatment. The only time it didn't work at first was when I was burned by splashed oil. I forgot to wash it off first. After did, it worked.

Have you ever considered adding cold pressed caster oil? It's very healing. Promotes Wound Healing Applying castor oil to wounds creates a moist environment that promotes healing and prevents sores from drying out. Venelex, a popular ointment used in clinical settings to treat wounds, contains a mixture of castor oil and Peru balsam, a balm derived from the Myroxylon tree (7Trusted Source). Castor oil stimulates tissue growth so that a barrier can be formed between the wound and the environment, decreasing the risk of infection. It also reduces dryness and cornification, the buildup of dead skin cells that can delay wound healing (8). Studies have found that ointments containing castor oil may be especially helpful in healing pressure ulcers, a type wound that develops from prolonged pressure on the skin. One study looked at the wound-healing effects of an ointment containing castor oil in 861 nursing home residents with pressure ulcers. Those whose wounds were treated with castor oil experienced higher healing rates and shorter healing times than those treated with other methods

For a young lady you present some of what appears to be similar to my grandmother and great grandma’s remedies. I was of the younger generation that had modern medical means and ideas. For my parents it was convenience to go to the modern day pharmacy although mom still used old methods from time to time. She never failed to reminder methods of old remedies, a bar of soap and a paddle. For reference, I am 70 years old. I enjoy your video subjects and presentations.

Thank you so much for this video! I needed some salve today and had all the ingredients on hand (other than the comfrey, which I believe I am allergic to). The essential oils I used were tea tree oil, clove, frankincense, helichrysum and lavender. I put it on my ouchie not long after making it, and it feels better already. THANKS AGAIN...! (I would have also added some geranium essential oil, but didn't want to overdo on the essential oils.) Just thought I would mention what I used in case it might help someone who is low on another or other essential oils in the recipe.

I used apple seed oil, arnica oil, meadow foam oil, organic grape seed oil, over a quart of oil. Mixed in 1/4 lb of comfrey, organic of course. Vitamin E, tea tree oil, frankincense oil, clove oil. I may make a batch of MSM with my DMSO for my experiment to a 2 oz mixture of the base. I will also use white fir oil. God bless you brothers and sisters 💞
