15 Euro? You did WELL!!! I have the same drill..paid 25 euro on sale....it's brilliant!

Even at 25 EUR I think it is a fantastic buy! How long have you had it and any issues? What is it most used for?

@@BrokeLifeEU I agree...25 euro is a super deal too! I used it a few times for small jobs including just yesterday to put up an outside light and drilled into masonry and into wood for another project. It has been brilliant but the drill bit did loosen a couple of times but it may be that I hadn't tightened it properly.

I did have that experience with it too, however a bit more force when tightening the chuck and it’s fine. I thought it was just me but turns out it isn’t.

What is the max torgue this drill can achieve? The fact that it is 40v with just one battery is impressive, goes into makita platform territory. While parkside is still on 20 volt. Though voltage doesn't mean anything, only in discharge rating.

I found it on a couple of sites listed at 60Nm. Although just the drilling function felt stronger than what the Parkside 60Nm can manage.

@@BrokeLifeEU it surely is stronger. And nice design too. Did you find a charger easily? And only 15 euros!!!! Mind-blowing!!! Too bad my country doesn't have Aldi anymore.

I have one, and it's really an impressive piece of kit for the money as far as power is concerned. I did find the trigger slow speed to be very agressive. Either fast on or nothing at all.

Yes, but I feel it is that way with most budget brushless tools. I say budget ones, because I have not had a high end brushless tool ever so I can only talk for the budget ones. In this category the brushed tools have better slow speed control. The brushless ones are as you say more aggressive on the trigger. That being said this is an excellent budget friendly drill. How long have you had yours?

@@BrokeLifeEU I purchased it about 2 years ago now. I have the brushed drills, and saw this at reduced price in Aldi, and could'nt resist it. It was handy for jobs needed more torque as in 'big holes'. I rather like the ferrex range if I'm honest, and now have a fair few of their tools. I purchased my first 20 volt battery about 5 years ago, and I have just had one go bad. Not sure why, but i have a flashing red on the charger.

Nice little unit! Clutch seemed reasonable to me, better than most electronic clutches out there. I'd recommend not dry drilling into steel at high speed, once you start seeing smoke your bit is already halfway to becoming a piece of rebar 😅

You have no idea how right you are. I do end up buying a lot of drill bits. However I only do it this was as it is harder for the drill and I want to put it through some stress in the review. Otherwise it is easy even with just some regular motor oil between the drill bit and metal.

Agree 100%....I found the clutch perfectly good and as you say, better than electronic type. And yes...best to stop drilling at the first hint of smoke! 😋

To be fair this type of drilling has also been a good test of drill bits. The only ones so far that have withstood this repeatedly are the Milwaukee Shockwave drill bits. They do cost a lot more but so far I have seen them perform the best. I also have Parkside, Yato, etc cheper brands and they can drill 1-2 or 3 holes at most like this. The Milwaukee ones are expenaive, however they keep going a lot longer. I think I need to invest in some more premium drill bits and see what‘s what. Any suggestions on drill bits worth purchasing and trying out?

@@BrokeLifeEU Dewalt Cobalt bits seem to hold up the best from online tests, I haven't tried them myself though. You also can't sharpen them because of the tip geometry. Lots of Bosch pro around here and definitely a good choice if you can stomach the price point

I don't think Aldi has an online store selling Ferrex? How did you get it, and especially for that price? Asking because I am not in the UK, but I can get one shipped to me if there are online stores.

You are right! Tt is not readily available in most Aldi stores if at all at the moment. Me finding this one was by sheer luck and it was on sale. These drills can also be found on eBay but are somewhat overpriced there, however I have also seen them for 25EUR including postage on eBay.

@@BrokeLifeEU thanks! Where did you get it from, if I recall you were not from the UK?
@BrokeLifeEU
@BrokeLifeEU 5 ай бұрын
@beepwhoop Not from the UK, however I do travel from time to time and that was picked up on one such journey. I did forget about it for sometime, but found it recently. It was quite the accidental find as it was the last one I remember and was on sale. Nothing wrong with it, they probably just wanted to get rid of it. For £15 I don‘t think there is a batter drill. However also a battery problem with these as the 40V 5Ah batteries are difficult to find. Parkside at least you can order from here and there but with Ferrex I think they have thrown in the towel and are letting Parkside have the market for supermarket tools. Not good as competition is a good thing in most cases.

Well, then Nike is much better than adidas and thats not true. Ouch. This Ferrex Parkside relation reminds me on Adi and Puma story. As I know founders of both are brothers. while Adi have more products in general Puma can surprise. And they are german companies. So, it is interesting.

And with Ferrex I think there are much better deals to be had, as tools can be found albeit with great difficulty at 50% off. The Parkside equivalent of this drill currently costs €77. This was about €18.
