Yes, definitely an in-depth comparison of all these railroad tycoon games would be appreciated. I waited 20 years for a Locomotion successor and now they are coming out of the woodwork! Sadly nothing can beat the games created by Pop Top Software back in 1999 and 2003 which were Rail Road Tycoon 2 and 3. I still play them to this day. The economics, the AI players, the depth of train details still are not matched by these modern games. Only thing they have going for them is the pretty graphics. Transport Fever 2 will be out soon and yet they dont have AI players. None of these games tell you how a train behaves with loads and gradients nor is the economy as sophisticated as in Rail Road Tycoon 3. Let's hope these companies get there.

R&D first and start improving hp of trains and speed, then coal and wood into Bowling Green for quick cash, the wood can be turned into lumber and later sold in Louiville, the wheat into Clarksville farm from St Bruno for first stage of meat production, you can run passanger between Bowling Green and Clarksville if you like but there isn't much money in it compared to raw materials. once you have meat production going and you can sell at Bowling Green and lumber to Louiville you will soon have enough money to do the rest of your R&D to the point of the next train, I added wood to Louiville also. I ran two trains for coal the second to Barnstable Town and also the iron ore from Winchester, finally I ran the line into Cincinnati, the mission took me just over an hour witha profit of £250k.

I have a deep respect for game developers, the energy, imagination, creativity and time they spend to to create a game is enormous. But I don't understand why they try to make a remake of something that has been made. And not one, twice but numerous times. And kicking Transport Fever of the train game throne, I image you need to come with something a little different then another remake. A pitty, but I find it a waste of good energy that these inspired developers are putting into it. Why not create something new, fresh and unique with the same effort.
