Better than Salt Dough: Cold Porcelain Clay Without Glue - Baking Soda Clay Recipe

Cold porcelain clay without glue with only 3 ingredients: baking soda, corn flour and water.
Cold porcelain because this homemade clay looks like it when it's dry. You'll see the surface is smooth and it dries hard. You can even bake it to speed up the drying time like salt dough.
But, I think this baking soda clay is best for making 2 dimensional decorations with cookie cutter, etc. like making Christmas tree decorations.
Love this clay! Please comment if you do.
Cold porcelain clay with baking soda recipe:
2 cups or 2 glasses pure baking soda
1 cup or 1 glass corn flour
1 1/4 cup or glass cold water

Could you answer 3 questions please? 1- how can I keep it 2- how long does it last 3- Can I use glue to join pieces? example nose, mouth etc. 4- what color can I use as an art or acrylic painter And the last question does it lose size when it dries? sorry for so many questions🤐. Thank you very much for the wonderful class.

I followed the directions, not sure what I’m doing wrong. :( kinda bummed bec this clay looks so much nicer than salt dough.
@clayitnow
@clayitnow 6 жыл бұрын
Hannah Dzwieleski yes, it's nicer and whiter than salt dough. Do you think your clay too hard? Btw, this clay will not stretch when you knead it and coarse. Just knead lightly, and shape it. Once you shape it don't touch the clay until the clay hard enough to hold its shape (not crumbly) and turn to dry the other side. The clay will be hard like stone when it's fully dry. All the best.

I will dry hard. with drying time depends on humidity level in your place. As mentioned in my website, once you mould the clay, don't touch it until it's dry because it will crumble when you keep touching while the clay still wet :). When the clay dry and you see crack, just apply thin layer of water, add wet clay, smooth the surface and wait until the add on clay dry. All the best and have fun!

I tried this recipe step by step but unfortunately it did not turn out as expected. The result being rubbery and crumbly. I tried everything but i was unable to do anything with it. Maybe the ingredients i used are not the same as the ones shown.
@clayitnow
@clayitnow 6 ай бұрын
This will never be rubbery. It is crumbly if you move around the item you created before the clay dry. This clay suitable for 2D. Once it's dried the clay hard like stone/ ceramic. I make Christmas tree deciration and it still look like new after more than 10 years. Here is the video link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqqVk6FsjpWNeJIsi=EnXEBTdB3QXEsvTU

+clayitnow how long would I cook it for in the microwave?
@clayitnow
@clayitnow 8 жыл бұрын
+Kaylee Fallat depends on the quantity of the clay. no exact timing just put it in microwave for about 2 minutes, take it out, stir it and put it back few times until you are happy with it. But again, I prefer to cook it on the stove.
I tried Baking soda clay, Does it works?
