I've built him on musketeer set and once did 30k damage with an enhanced basic against a blaze out of space. 15k from break and another 15k from the attack/dot. All while generating a skill point 😂.

If you have silver wolf just build luka for absolute crazy break. Luka + SW will make the game more fun for you i guarantee it. This combo makes you play a game inside the game, trying to land luka's break while avoiding break with SW and triggering that dot both with Kafka and luka is extremely satisfying.

That's my current team, and it absolutely shreds. I know SU isn't a good measure of how good a team is, but earlier today I had my DoT Kafka's ult hit 860k against Gepard (with shield break), between all my SW debuffs, both phys break and Luka bleeds, and all the Nihility shenanigans. My Luka isn't even built for break effect. It's ridiculous.

E6 Luka is insane tho against physical weak enemies or if you have sw. Mine dishes over 80k dmg on his enhanced basic, and that's without counting the fact that kafka will detonate all that bleed too, and he is built to support her, using resolution. Have both at e6 but sampo is a permabench for me.

We don't have a burn focused nihility character yet, right now burns are just trigger to certain mechanics. If you just mean the break dot, then maybe, but I would rather see something like a +1 to the initial damage multiplication to sell the explosion factor instead. Big nuke.

If you happen to have Sushang and her Eidolons (one of which grants her an extra 40% break effect) then it could be worth it to bring both of them and build Sushang for break effect instead of Luka. Sushang would be more diifictult to build, since you'd want her to have a good amount of crit rate/damage as well but that extra 40% break effect from her eidolon combined with how easy it is for her to break physical weak enemies can add up to a lot of extra damage. A lot of damage that Luka can detonate with his enhanced basic.

Damn. Hoyo did good this patch. You a rewarded for going all in on those banners. On character banner you have Dot enabler + sub for single target and aoe Dot teams. And on a second banner you get weapon for all of them. Sick patch.

I just built my Luka on a break effect build and oml he absolutely *destroys* high health enemies with weakness breaks. I'm currently pairing him with Kafka to pop the DoTs and Silver Wolf to give phys weakness and debuffs, and the sheer amount of burst damage you can deal after a Luka break is absolutely ridiculous. Now I just need a better lightning, quantum, or physical sustain character to round out the team and I'd be set (don't have Bailu, and Natasha is fine but doesn't sustain me quite as well as I'd like).

Thanks for the vid Some nitpicks from me: You mention how Luka is better vs. Elite + Bosses and those are more common, but I'd say quite often in MoC, there are Duo elite enemies, where Sampo shines. RE: SP usage, idk why Sampo = SP negative "first". Skill -> Basic should always fully ramp. I'd say they are at least equal for SP, or Sampo > since he can go nearly full basic if required. RE: Sweat, AFAIK Luka only has multi hit on E.Basic, single hit on skill / ulti, so without S5 Sweat, he can miss the proc. Still a good choice but I think he's overrated as a Sweat holder compared to Sampo. Overall I'd rate them as equal, and like you said - if you can, build both and bring the appropriate one.

True but versus a single boss Luka goes dicko mode, but yea 2 elite Sampo goes hard too. Sampo is negative first in AOE specifically, Luka in his ST niche isnt, but on a single then yes sampo can skill into basic. Resolution thing was just an advantage only on his EBasics per the script, but yeah other hits iirc are all single, but kafka LC pullers hopefully have S3+ of it now

luka LC was out, and I just forgot to add it. For sub dps sampo its probably BIS, he can apply it aoe easily at S4-S5 with 67 EHR. For main dps like with luka, it wont be best for his own damage

He seems like one of the better units to use against a boss or a elite enemy. The dots go crazy. Though I do wish his Ult hit EVERYONE and not just one enemy. His only weakness is AOE and that's pretty much it (that problem can be covered with someone like serval or sampo himself with kafka with her ult to wipe the wave). I'm super duper glad that hoyo in hsr is going in a right direction when it comes with 4 star units unlike in genshin where they are waaayyyy too nieche to the point where you ask "why create a unit like this in the first place?". I hope they continue with creating solid 4 star characters who aren't like herta level of garbage

How well do you think Break Luka would work as a sub-dps support for a Clara comp? I'm thinking something like Clara, Lynx, Tingyun, Luka. Hell, given how fast Tingyun can regen energy and how slowly Clara eats through her buffs it might be possible for Tingyun to give every other ultimate to Luka which would be a big buff to his rotation as well.

there is another PRO in favor of Luka Video games in general are designed around bosses for the challenge player experience no developer really cares about little mobs, they are consider just fodder anyway that anyone will clear A unit designed to take down bosses will always be relevant, most of times more relevant than AOE centric units This is also the reason why Erudition units tend to feel lackluster in comparison of Hunt types ( see Seelie X anyone else) Let's see if Devs can break this video-games trope and make End-game content relevant for both single-target and multi-target units

Sushang with Luka is also synergistic i think. Strong toughness dmg for Luka to finish the enemy off. And when the enemy is broken free real estate for Sushang. Maybe Asta for atk and speed or silver wolf for physical and def shred. But Natasha as solo sustain isnt possible and luocha is bad because of silver wolf. Any suggestions?

Great video, time to build my Luka! This is an off topic question, but I haven't been able to find a consistent answer to it. Do you know if the Hunt Battlepass Lightcone "Return to Darkness" gets multiple chances to dispel an enemy buff on a multi hit attack? And in relation to that, would you recommend getting that cone? If not, maybe you could give a different recommendation. I have to choose one for battlepass this month and I already chose the Erudition one that I really wanted. The buff dispel just sounds really useful.

Luka's versatility is making my head spin - does this mean for him to go SP-neutral he would need to forego a break rope? Although i suppose not necessarily so long as each piece on him has BE subs. Also I know these guides are often aimed to relaying what's best for a unit, but during your TCing did you (or anyone else you were working with) happen to test the performance of a hybrid/jack-of-all-trades type of Luka? Like for example, would an SP Positive, 4pc Phys set, BE rope Luka perform "well enough"?

You can go sp neutral + external energy / sp positive with 1 additional basic and still go break rope, but ERR rope + fermata and be subs is still good. I didnt get to test hybrid but as the vid says from my quick maffs, it should work :)

Sushang still does a ton of crit damage, and can be a SP neutral sub dps powerhouse with E1. She has higher theoretical break effect too and a faster break burst at the cost of SP.

Grr, got Kafka in 28 .... with a single Luka unit, decided today to do some 10 pulls. 50 pulls = 5 Serval (already e6) and 3 Sampo (was e1) .... zero fking Luka

He's kinda awkward to use with kafka cuz he starts with 1 stack of his passive. So first turn you either do basic unechanced attack, which feels like a waste, or do the skill, but then kafka's passive dosen't trigger, so either way kinda feels unoptimal. And honestly since i'm lucky and got both blade and Kafka, i feel like they work great together. (and i have SW as well, and all stellaron hunters honestly isn't a meme, but a solid team, although maybe just either two of them are more optimal.

easy fix is to either make Kafka slower than your sp generator, usually the sustain (Luocha, Natasha, Gepard), or the fastest in the team and your sustain the slowest, just make her move after them. those units will almost always be using their NA, guaranteeing Kafka's follow up and sp to spam her skill

That's not a luka specific problem. If you can't do that, then also speed tune your healer to be faster than Kafka

@@jonhsmith8238 both Bailu and Kafka have 2p hackerspace and speed boots, and bailu is slower, ig i need lucky speed substats, or switch to 4p electro set, but either way im gonna be at mercy of relic rng.

heya thanks for the guide! i have some questions if you don't mind, with break build, it feels like a tall order to hit 145 SPD req just from substat alone, is there other way to reach this? also how does S5 Solitary Healing fare against S1 GNSW in a break build?

It isnt that hard considering hes only stacking 3 stats, but Asta spd buff also works. Solitary gives BE, GNSW does not, so Solitary wins in a break builld?

well, sounds really good. But why would we need to have that much effect hit rate? we only have 2 bosses with 40% effect res. everything else has less than 30%. Do we really need that much than? If we build him with only 45%, should it be enough?

Don’t know really, hard to calc whole teams with LC differences, but I’d say sweat s5 just to be safe

Would you still suggest Pearls over GNSW if you're running Gepard/Kafka/Luka/Asta? is the damage gain from that better?

It should be as long as Kafka does over 200-250k damage in total I believe before Resolution.

Right now my team order is luocha, sw, kafka (161), and luka, if I can get one more PAYN, is getting it for luka to spd tune him to be faster than kafka worth it?

yes the damage buffs from Resolution ESPECIALLY with SW beats Luka's self damage loss

Its not turn one, its first ult then following rotation, since everyone starts at different energy. The start of turn thing is more of a thing to include additional energy ^^
