Little tip for F14 pilots. I would not recommend dogfighting with your Afterburner on, the energy retention is often too high and you end up not turning inside your enemies turning circle getting yourself killed if you sit on the AB. If you do use the AB just feather it to keep your F-14 at around 700-800kmh

Tad of a clarification on the Aim-54's active guidance. They will only guide themselves once within a certain distance (~18km/10mi). If they lose lock before then, they operate on inertial guidance based on the last known heading, nose attitude, and speed of your target and try to predict where they will be for when the missile does get within seeker range (even though the missile itself should be capable of tracking targets on active homing in excess of 40km, but gaijin seems to have gotten lazy with their coding again).

Also I find it helps if another plane is semi high alt I'll lock them and switch between PD and TRK if they chaff or notch, that way when I launch ( 7-8km high at 35km) it'll be aguraanteed hit bc I can maintain lock the whole way until it goes pitbull, and usually it's too fast to dodge at that point cus they wastes time defending

In Sim the Aim-54 phoenix is difficult to notch unless you go full cold and chaff, if you get within 7-8 miles to a F-14 and locks you with an Aim-7 you have a slim chance of surviving even at extremely low altitude ( unless you fly under a mountain we’re he can’t see you with radar ). The F-14 is by far the best plane in the game, even if it is a missile bus it can rate fight anything and dominate.

F14 killed top tier sim. It’s so frustrating trying to find a sim battle in my mig23 when every single game is 10x f14s vs 3 or so migs and su25s and such. The r24s are very very good in sim as well but it’s just so annoying that I constantly have to go cold every 30 seconds just to maybe have a chance at getting one of my only two useable missiles off the racks.

The F-14 has a multistage afterburner, you can angage it by slowly scrolling mouse wheel one notch up and setting up WEP to press not hold. It will make your fuel economy much easier

If you use your scroll wheel for throttle you can maintain afterburn 1 or 2 for superior fuel economy whilst not sacrifice too much in the process

The F-14 is by far the best top tier jet at the moment with only a few other planes being almost toe to toe with it, i feel like its so much harder to notch its radar compared to other PD missiles. I dont have it yet, tho it seems pretty fun. F-14 players are also pretty scary, because either they can barely take off or they will just completely stomp you. It's an intersting plane in the current meta to say at least. Here is a little tip for everyone who struggles against the F-14: Crew the F-8U with 4xAim9D, turn off your radar, climb to the side to around 4-6km and flank the enemies from high altitude. You may be in a huge disadvantage but yet it's pretty effective and fun. You basically test the awareness of top tier players :^)

I am a German main who plays the mig23 often. The mig23 is a fantastic aircraft, in fact it’s pretty op. However it only has two r24s. R24s can either be godly in the head on or completely useless due to the migs radar just simply not working sometimes. The other 4 missiles are just r60s which can be easily flared with a tap on the keyboard. If your out of your r24s, which sometimes they won’t even track the enemy you’re locked onto headon, you have absolutely no defense against f14s other than praying your teammates can distract them enough to maneuver for a kill. F14s can fire multiple missiles at the start of the game, and continue to fire head on missiles until the end of the game while being able to outspeed, outmaneuver almost any fighter it sees. Not to mention the Vulcan it has. If it has that much of an advantage over the closest fighter to being a counter for it, there’s a serious problem with the balance. Was hoping for atleast anything to help counter this imbalance in the last two patches, yet gaijin decided adding drones and finland were more of a priority? Ugh

It's not close, the J7e is better in every way unless it's a pure 1v1, and that's only bc the lack of radar is big in a 1v1. It's just not that important in a full match. In a typical Air RB match the J7e is hands down the best plane.

I've been using the F4J (UK) to grind out top tier Britain and don't get me wrong I have fun, I tend to bomb bases but this has garnered a lot of disrespect from some people (mind you not the majority by any means). Watching videos like this however really just reminds me how outmatched I am, people are expecting me to dogfight instead with F14s, F16s and Mig29s (along with everything else that doesn't fly like a brick). I do get the skyflashes and I get the odd opportunistic frag with those but my only IR missiles are Aim9Gs, same story with the Jaguar and Harrier. I'd like to ask what your approach to using the F4J (UK) would be? (Waiting for all the "skill issue" & "git gud" trolls who've never flown Britain at top tier)

It’s not the plane, it’s the pilot. I kill 2-3 F14s every single game in my Mirage F1C. If you’re fighting an F14 all you have to do is is take it into the 1 circle and abuse the vertical. it has really poor instantaneous turn because of its wing design and the 30mm of the mirage hit like a train. You can also exploit the fact it’s so much faster than you and force an over shoot for an easy shot. In the right hands, the mirage can win easily.

Day 32 of asking to play the yak4 at 2.0 Start by a dive directly at q base that has another base clise to it ( 2 bases beside each other) 4 bombs for each Go straight to your base killing some ai on the way with your 7.62 Some planes will come on your back going in a straigh line with minimal evading is recommended and try to hit their engines with ur turret since they have weak engines a damaged one will lead them to crash i return to the airfield with 2 bases with 4 to 5 ai kills and 1 or 2 planes after taking off i go for bases if left but if not i will focus on ground targets cuz aa is the bain of this plane so bombing airfields is not recommended Bonus:do not forget to have smoke always on to piss the enemies 🤣

Sideclimb till you're at 4.5k meters or 5k meters before slowlying turning into the battle (this is when your Turbocharger really kicks in) - Start picking of targets at high altitude, play the vertical game, don't try to dogfight too much, boom and zoom and if anyone is threatening you and you can't counter, go into a shallow dive. Your plane is heavy af and the engines are super powerful, you can outrun almost everything in a dive.

This is the most over rated plane. Problem is that PD mode is extreamly weak. Just turn and f14 looses the lock. U have to be high and fight in extreamly high altitude, but you will be there alone. Bellow 2000m it is basicaly useless. Also infra missiles are super attracted to your hot engine, even r60 that like flares will get you usually even you flare and swith of afterburn. Aim54 they hit like 1 out of 10 if you are lucky. Aim7s are good, but since poor radar you will have little hits. The guns are the best thing on this. Btw if you try to maneuvre around 900km say goos buy to your wings. Mig 23mla and mld are much better.
